Chapter 12-I Meet Some of Percy's Old Friends
Amelia's POV-
I walk around the dark corridors, looking for the right door to go into. Finally, I find it and open the door quietly. I see two figures on the floor, in chains.
"Hannah, Gia? Is that you?" I whisper. One of the figures groan. I tiptoe over to them and see two girls. One of them has her hair in a sloppy bun and a grey headband on and the other has reddish hair.
"Amelia," Hannah growls. She is the only one awake as I can tell.
"Get away from us," Hannah whispers while trying to get in front of Gia.
"I'm not going to hurt you," I say, my heart breaking. "I'm here to save you two."
"Why would you do that?" she asks.
"Because I'm a double agent!" I whisper loudly.
I grimace as I hear it echoing around us. "Come on, get up," I say quietly.
"Do you think I would if I could? And why would I go with you?" Hannah asks me.
"Please," I whisper. "I'm going to bring you back to Camp. And if my 'boss' ever found out I helped you, which he might when I leave, but before that I'll be dead in a matter of minutes."
Hannah sighs. "Please?" I ask her. "He is already suspicious of me because I just had a meeting with him but I would protect you both."
"Fine," she says. "But don't in any way, hurt us or get us hurt. Got it?"
"Yes. Now, wake Gia up," I say that and she gives me a questioning face. "Just lightly slap her."
The chains on her wrist are long enough to allow her to lightly slap Gia's face. Gia jerks up and says, "What happened?"
"Amelia is here to bring us back to Camp Half-Blood," Hannah says, shooting a glance at me.
Gia seems to notice me now and glares at me. "You left Camp to come here. Why would you help us?" she asks but she says something quiet after that.
"I didn't leave Camp! He took me!" I say loudly. "And I don't know how he did."
"Be quiet!" Hannah hisses. Everyone goes silent as we listen for anything. I hear a slight pitter-patter coming near us. The door opens to this room and I scramble in the shadows.
"Who is talking?" a girls voice says. "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you."
I walk slightly out of the shadows and see who it is. "Amelia!" the girl says. "What are you doing here? You are supposed to be guarding my cell!"
"How'd you get out of your cell?" I ask.
"Easy. Just used my dads powers to help me," she says.
"Who are your parents?" I ask.
"Travis and Katie Stoll," she says and unlocks the chains on Gia and Hannah. "And I can tell you're going to help them get to Camp, so I'm helping you. I want to go home first."
"Good idea. Then we can recruit your parents because I know they know Percy," I say. "Let's help them. Oh, what's your name?"
"Alyx," she says. "I'll get redhead."
"Redhead has a name, you know. It's Gia," Gia says. Alyx walks over to Gia and puts her arm over Alyx's shoulder.
I walk over to Hannah and she wraps her right arm around my shoulders. I start walking forward and Alyx does the same with Gia. We walk out and I look around the corner. Nobody. "Come on," I whisper and all of us walk forward.
It is painstakingly slow, but nobody came. We walk slowly and I hear a creak. A man in his late 30s comes around the corner.
"Dad?" Hannah asks quietly. Her eyes widen in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"I work for The Monster," he says bluntly. "And you're not getting away from me."
He smiles evilly. "What happened to you?" Hannah asks.
"Oh, nothing. Just he gave me the best deal," he says, not explaining what the deal is. "And I think you guys know who Declan is, right?"
Gia and Hannah nods. "Well, I killed his father in a car crash," he says and cackles madly.
"What is wrong with you?!" Gia says.
"Nothing!" he says, still cackling. In my scabbard, I pull out my sword with my free hand. I slice it at James but he blocks it. With his hand.
"How'd you do that?" I ask, surprise evident on my face.
"The Monster, as you call him, he took out all of my bones and organs and put in metal and iron," he says hitting his hand on the wall. It resounds in a bang.
Hannah stares at him with hatred in her eyes. Hannah waves her hand and I can't see Gia or her. I look down at me and Alyx and I don't see us.
"Run but don't run into James," a voice whispers in my ear. Its Hannah. "You're invisible if you're wondering. But I can see you all."
"How are you and Gia gonna get over there?" I ask quietly.
"I'm a daughter of Hecate. I think I can manage both of us," she says and I can imagine her grinning.
I nod and Alyx and I start running. I grab onto someone's hand and I think it is Alyx's. That person traces their name on my wrist: Alyx. We run to a door and I open it. It creaks and James looks our direction. "I know one of you us over there," he says and walks slowly.
We run inside and I shut the door quickly.
"I can lock it," Alyx says and I nod. Then I realize she can't see me.
"OK." James bangs on the door. He tries to open it, but can't.
"The Monster is going to attack soon, you know," he says, snarling. "And you guys will PERISH!"
Suddenly, there is a bang.
"Guys, you can come out now," Gia says. I guess Alyx unlocks the door because it opens. I can see the girls again.
"Come on, let's go get some prisoners," I tell them. They nod and we start running. I see a cell and stop running. Everyone bumps into me.
"Seriously?" I whisper.
"Sorry," Alyx says and walks to unlock the door.
"Who are you?" a males voice says.
"I'm Amelia," I say gently. "We are here to save you."
"Is Percy here?" he says.
"No, but I'm his half sister," I say.
"I have a sister?" he says and runs out of the cell and crushes me in a hug.
"Um, who are you?" I ask, trying to breathe.
"Tyson," he says, still hugging me.
"Ah, so you're my half-brother?" I ask, remembering a conversation I had with Percy.
"Yes!" he says pulling away from the hug.
I start walking with everyone following me. We find another cell and Alyx opens it. The person jumps out, ready to attack us. "Woah, calm down. We are saving you," Hannah says. I look down at his legs and see fur.
"Grover?" I ask.
"Amelia? Why are you here?" Grover asks.
"Long story. Don't have enough time," I say. "Now let's get everyone else."
There are five cells left. Alyx opens one and out comes a red harpy. "Ella!" Tyson says really loudly.
Alyx opens the rest of the cell doors. People stumble out of their cells. One woman puts up her hands as if she is going to punch us all. "Woah lady," I say. "We are setting you free."
"Really?" she asks.
I nod and so does Hannah. She glares at us. "How can I trust you? You're just kids," she says.
"Clarisse," Grover says. "It's alright."
She looks at Grover. "You're here too? I know I heard bleating, but I didn't know it was you."
"Yeah, sorry about that," Grover says.
Clarisse nods. "Well, come on," she says and walks away.
I look at Hannah and she shrugs. Clarisse walks to another cell where one person didn't come out of it. A sob hits the air and we run to her. I look inside and see her sitting over a body.
"Chris," Grover whispers.
Clarisse whispers something that we can't hear. I see her close the eyelids.
"I'm going to find the person who did this and send them to Tartarus. Forever!" she growls.
She gets up and I see a fire in her eyes. "Come on," she says and sprints away.
I sprint, following her. I look back and see Tyson carrying Gia and Hannah. I look up and see Ella flying. The two others I didn't know were running too.
Clarisse seems to know where to go, but I didn't know how.
"How'd your father not wake up?" I call to Hannah.
"Don't call him my father!" she snaps. "Sorry. Anyway, I just put a simple spell over him to make him sleep for a while."
I nod and Clarisse runs even faster. "Hey Clarisse? How do you know where you're going?" I ask.
"I just do!" she says, not elaborating on the subject.
Up ahead, I see a door. "Alyx," I say. "Could you unlock that door?"
She nods and all of us slows to a walk. She walks up to the door and unlocks it. Clarisse opens the door and we burst outside. Thankfully, its nighttime.
"Stop Clarisse," I say. "I think we are going to the Stolls' house."
"We are," Alyx confirms. "Just follow me because I know where it is."
"You do?" Gia says. "Then where are we?"
"Central Park," Alyx and I say at the same time.
"I've been here before," one of the people I don't know says. "And by the way, my name is Noah Smith. My dad loves taking me here."
"I've haven't been here but I know you, Clarisse," the other man says. "I'm Malcolm, son of Athena."
"Thank the gods you're here," Grover says.
"What are you guys talking about?" Noah says, his grey shining in confusion.
"Greek gods. We are all children of them, even you," Malcolm says bluntly. "I just don't think you've been claimed yet."
"Let's get going before they realize that most of their prisoners are gone," Alyx says. We all mutter OK's and yes's and we run after her.
"Stop!" I yell. They all skid to a stop.
"What was that for?" Clarisse says.
"Aren't we a big target for monsters?" I say.
"Oh yeah," Malcolm says. "I forgot about that."
"But I thought you were a son of Athena," Noah says. "I know enough about her to know that she's very smart."
"Let's split up," I say. "Tyson and Clarisse, take Gia and Hannah back to Camp, k?" I say. They nod and head off in another direction. "Oh, and tell them that we are coming too, but getting the Stolls'."
"OK. See you when you get there!" Hannah says.
"OK, guys. See you in a few days," I tell them and turn around. Malcolm, Noah, Alyx, and I walk forward. "Lead the way, Alyx," I say.
"Okie dokie," she says and starts jogging in front of me.
*****
I swing my sword at the griffin. It misses and he swings his foot at me and his claws slice my arm a little.
"Stop!" Malcolm yells. Everybody stops what they're doing. "I think I can tame it."
"How?" Noah asks, supporting his new sword that I had with me as an extra.
"I've read about them before," he says. He walks forward, speaking soothing words to the griffin. I grab my arm in my hand and feel blood.
I notice the griffin rub his head on Malcolm's hand. "I tamed him," he says quietly. "We should ride him to the Stoll's house."
I nod. Malcolm gets on the griffin while petting his head. Noah and Alyx get on next. I am the last one to get on. "OK. Fly," Malcolm says. "Where is your house, Alyx?"
"That way," she says while pointing to the right side. Malcolm nods and the griffin flies in that direction.
*****
"Malcolm, tell the griffin to fly down there," Alyx says.
Malcolm whispers to the griffin and we start to go down. Soon, we land and I hop off. I stretch my legs and Alyx sighs. "Home," she whispers.
She runs up to a house and barges right in. I walk after her, Noah falls into step next to me. "Are the Greek gods real?" he asks me.
"Yeah," I tell him.
He looks at his feet, his dark blonde hair falling in his face. "Is that why I live with my dad? And my dad never talks about my mom?" he asks.
"Yep, that's it," I tell him as we walk inside. I hear crying when I enter the kitchen. I see Alyx embracing her parents and younger siblings.
"How did you get here?" A woman asks Alyx.
"That girl over there helped me out," Alyx says while pointing at me. The woman and man walk over to me.
"Thank you for saving our daughter," the woman says.
"You're welcome," I tell them. "But we need your help. You need to come back to Camp Half-Blood with us."
"Why?" Travis, I'm guessing, says.
"Because there is a terrible Titan arising," I say. "Chiron will explain it better than I can."
"Connor!" Travis yells and a younger man steps into the kitchen where we are at. He looks exactly like Travis. "We're leaving and going back to Camp."
Connors eyes sparkle as he says, "Meaning we can prank?"
"Yes, brother," Travis says, his eyes sparkling like his brothers. I roll my eyes.
"You will not be pranking at Camp!" Katie says.
"Dear wife, we will and you can't stop us!" Travis says and his brother nods in agreement.
"Well, let's get going," I say and head outside.
"I don't think the griffin is big enough for more people," Malcolm says. "It barely held the four of us."
"Crud," I say. "Then what are we going to do?"
"We can help you," a males voice says. I look over and don't see anyone. I look closely in the shadows and see two figures. They walk forward a little and out comes Nico and Raphael di Angelo.
"Raphael!" I say. He smiles at me and my heart melts. I run up and hug him. He seems surprised but he hugs me back. "I missed you."
"I missed you too," he says quietly.
"You know I didn't want to go, right?" I ask.
"Yes, I do," he says. We let go of the embrace and I notice everyone staring at us. I blush and so does he.
"Anyway," Nico says. "We can bring you back to Camp Half-Blood."
"Noah and I can ride the griffin back," Malcolm says.
"OK, that makes it easier on Raphael and I," Nico says. They nod and get on the griffin.
"See you guys there," Noah says, grinning. I wave and they fly off of the ground and up into the sky, out of view.
"Dad, I can take the kids while you take Connor, Travis, and Katie," Raphael says. Nico nods and the adults grab onto Nico.
I grab onto Raphael's hand and Alyx does too, holding onto her little sister and brother. Nico nods at Raphael and I see and feel blackness. The air in my lungs gets knocked out. When I can see again, I see Camp.
"Camp Half-Blood," Travis says. "Connor and my first real home(we're just guessing on this)."
"Its good to see it again," Katie says. We see Chiron trotting up the hill.
"Welcome back," he says.
"Its good to be back," Connor and Travis says at the same time, while Katie nods.
*****
So we added tratie and their kids. Oh and Connor. We wanted to see some old characters in here. The reason we chose the song up there is a funny story. So we went to a camp for school and we were sitting in a big room with two of our friends. One of them was Liverlee14 and the other her name starts with A. So Eye of the Tiger was playing and all of us were singing and then A sang the wrong lyrics. The three of us laughed at her and she started laughing with us. And whenever we hear that song we think of that time. I told A that we think of her whenever we hear of that song and she said that she never thinks that anyone thinks of her. I told her we do. Well, peace out peeps!
