I walk over to Chiron and see that Emma and Sebastian are already there. A couple days have passed since we got the news of Grandma and Grandpa dying. "Carmen, I know you know who Gia Fuller and Hannah Ripley are," Chiron says.

I nod. "I'm friends with them," I tell him.

"I'm sad to say this, but they got kidnapped by The Monster," Chiron says.

"Are you joking?" I ask.

"No."

"Why does everyone I love either die or disappear?" I yell.

Hunter and Raphael comes over to me after hearing me yelling. "What's wrong?" Hunter asks, concerned. 

"Oh, it's just that my friends get kidnapped and my grandparents die," I tell him. "I'm going to kill that monster with my bare hands for taking my friends."

I ball my fists and Hunter puts a comforting arm around me. "It's going to be fine," Raphael says. "We will find them."

I shake my head and Hunter takes his arm away. He whispers something to Raphael and he nods. "Maybe you should spend time with some of your other friends," Raphael says.

I nod as Emma walks over to me and places her hand on my shoulder. "It'll be fine," she says.

I shake my head. "How will it be fine?" I ask her.

"It will," she says.

I walk away, leaving her with Sebastian.

"Carmen, wait up!" Emma says and Natasha joins her.

I stop walking and turn around. "Yes?" I ask them.

"We just wanted to talk to you," Natasha says.

I nod. "Why have you been ignoring us lately?" Emma asks suddenly.

I stare at them. "I don't know."

"Well, let's go talk somewhere," Natasha. I lead them to the treehouse.

"OK. What'd you want to talk about?" I say as we sit down.

"You," Emma says.

"Me?" I ask, surprised.

They both nod. "Um, well. I have kissed two people," I say.

Natasha looks uncomfortable while Emma looks surprised. "Who?" Emma asks.

"Hunter and Raphael," I say. "But I've kissed Hunter twice."

"I've kissed Sebastian," Emma says.

I smile. "I know," I tell her.

She blushes. "I can't believe you are a Hunter!" Emma says.

Natasha smiles. "I know," she says. "It was a really quick decision."

"Yeah. We'll miss you!" I say and hug her.

"Aww thanks," she says.

"You look younger," Emma says.

"Yeah, I think that happened when I became a Hunter," she says.

I nod. "Well, I gotta go tell Jeremiah about Gia," I say to them.

They nod and I leave the treehouse. I walk around, looking for Jeremiah. Maybe I should tell Declan too.

"Carmen," a males voice says. I turn around and see Hunter.

I smile a little when I see him. "Its going to be fine about Hannah and Gia."

"How can you say that?" I ask him.

My question made this meeting pretty awkward if I do say so myself.

"Well, this is awkward," Hunter says.

"I was just think the exact same thing!" I say.

"Hey, Carmen," Hunter says. "I really, really like you."

"Me too," I whisper.

He walks over to me. "I have, a um, question to ask you," Hunter says.

"Go ahead," I say, suddenly nervous. Butterflies dance around my stomach.

"Do you want to be my girlfriend?" Hunter says.

"Hey Carmen," a males voice says. Raphael.

"Can't you see we were talking," Hunter says.

"Oh, sorry," Raphael says. Raphael glares at Hunter.

I look at Hunter and he is clenching his fists. "What do you say, Carmen?"

"I-I have to think about it," I say and run away. I finally find Declan and Jeremiah.

"You're girlfriends are missing," is all I tell them. They both protest that they aren't their girlfriends, but I leave them.

They follow me though.

"What do you mean that Gia and Hannah are missing?" Jeremiah asks.

"Chiron just told me that they are missing. That's all I know," I say.

"Do you know who took them?" Declan says quietly.

"I think I have an idea. It might be The Monster," I say.

"Why would he take them!" Jeremiah says.

"I don't know," I say.

"I'm going to kill that monster!" Jeremiah yells.

"Me too," I mutter.

Most of the people I care about are either dead or missing! Why? Why does it happen to me? And then Hunter had to make me happy and ask me out! I sigh as I turn around in my bed. This can't be happening to me!

I get out of bed and quietly open the door. I don't even care if they catch me. I sprint to the treehouse. I climb the ladder and I make it inside the treehouse. I grab my head as I sit down. I'm done with everything. My grandparents die, my aunt left, and my two best friends are missing. I start sobbing. "Carmen?" I hear someone say.

My head shoots upward. I get up and look down the ladder. I sigh as I see Raphael. I motion for him to come up. I wipe most of my tears away. "What?" I ask harshly when he gets up here.

"What's the matter?" he asks me.

I shake my head. "Come on, tell me," he says as his hand gently pulls my chin towards him.

"I'm so done right now," I tell him. "My grandparents are dead, my friends are missing."

"Hey, it's OK," he says as I start crying again.

He hugs me and I rest my chin on his shoulder. "I'm so done right now," I mutter.

He rubs my back. I pull away and he says, "Hey, look at me."

His long fingers grab my face gently and makes me look at him. "Its going to be OK if you stay with me," he whispers.

He closes his eyes as if he thought something bad. "What?" I say.

"Its nothing," he whispers.

"Come on, you can tell me," I say.

"Stop using my words against me," Raphael says.

"Tell me," I tell him.

"My feelings are confusing," he says.

I nod, knowing how it is. "Its between Amelia and I, isn't it?" I ask him.

He nods slightly. "Hey, don't wait for me," I tell him even though it hurts. "Whenever you see her, tell her how you feel."

"Then do the same with Hunter," he says.

"I think I might," I say, smiling. "But not now because a war is coming."

He nods. "I think we should get back to our cabins," he says.

I nod. I walk over to the ladder and I climb down it. I wait for Raphael and then we walk back to the cabins together. I walk inside the Poseidon cabin and lay down on my bed. I smile before I go to sleep.
