“Hi, I’m Jack,” I just realized he had a British accent. Hot.

“Hey,” I reply coolly.

“I was wondering if this was your book,” he holds out TFIOS. Oh. “I think it fell out of your handbag.”

I peek into my large purse, and see that my book that I bring with me everywhere, is missing.

I simply respond, “Oh, thanks” I smile at him. As he tells me it was no problem, another boy comes up behind him and takes the beanie off of Jack’s head.

“I’ll have my beanie back,” this boy has an American accent, like me. I turn to get a good look at him, and he’s also smoking hot. He has his brown hair quiffed up, but a few shades lighter than Jack’s. Like his friend he also has green eyes, but they have a bit of every color. The iris is mainly sea green, almost making his eyes look blue, and blend into a gold-ish color around the pupil. “Sorry if my friend, was bothering you.” he says snapping me out of the trance he had me in.

“No worries, he wasn’t.”

“Hey, I’m gonna go sightseeing with Louis, Caspar, Zoella, and Troye. You coming?” Jack asks the boy whom I don’t know the name of.

“Nah, I’ll stay back and catch up with you later, alright?” Jack nods, leaving me alone with this adorable human being.

“Hi, I’m Connor,” he says as I stare at his soft-looking lips. Wow, I’m a such a creep.

Connor. That’s a lovely name; it suits him perfectly. Where did this captivating boy come from, and why is he talking to me? I’ve always been told I was pretty, but they all probably were lying to my face.

“I’m El,” I flash a smile at him.

He smiles back. Wow, he has a striking smile. How the heck are his teeth so white? “You like cats?” he starts a conversation, over my cup of coffee.

“Haha, yeah.” I laugh at the silly question.

“Me too. Cats and coffee, though, is possibly the best combination ever.”

“A boy who love cats? Are you even real?” I tease.

Connor chuckles, “Yeah, I know, embarrassing right?”

"No, I think it’s kinda attractive, actually.” Oops, did I actually say those words out loud?

“Oh- um, th-thanks.” I raise my eyebrow at the sight of him stuttering. He doesn’t seem like he would be the one to stumble with his words. He catches the confused look on my face, “Sorry, I guess a cute girl like you makes me nervous.” His piercing green eyes widen as he realizes what he just said.

Okay, first of all he just called me cute. And second of all, he just told me I make him nervous. What is life, even?

“You say sorry too much,” I laugh as I play it off cool, when I’m actually screaming internally. “no worries.” I smile at the flawless boy.

He looks relieved, thinking I wasn’t affected by what he just said. Connor’s phone vibrates in his pocket and he pulls it out. “Shit,” he curses. “I have to go.”

My heart drops. I’ve enjoyed this cute/ semi-awkward encounter with Connor, but it looks like it’s over.

He notices my change in expression, “Don’t worry, you didn’t think I would leave without asking for your number, right?” he grins at me.

I give it to him, and he tells me he’ll text me. He walks out the cafe; the mini bell above the door, ringing. Leaving only me, and an older gentleman left in this espresso-filled place. I smile to myself, as I take a sip of my now-cold coffee. I hate it when my coffee is less than 196 degrees, but nothing- not even that, could stop this giddy feeling in my stomach.

I pick up my vibrating phone, that I just recently dropped. It’s a text from an unknown number. Connor.

Connor: hey el :)

He is freaking adorable.

Me: hi connor :)

I swipe my phone with my finger and check my inbox for any other messages. I have one more, from Liv.

Liv: meet me outside the place of the meetup at 12:00. i want to be there a little early.

Oh, right. I’m going to the meetup. And I’m going to see Kian. I almost forgot about that.
