"Get up!" A voice screams.
I collide with something hard and groan. "Wh-what's happening." I move and notice that I'm on the floor with my sheets tangled around me.
"We're already late!" Kid yells.
I look up to see him standing above me. I rub my eyes. "I want to sleep." I whine.
He grabs my arm and yanks me up. "It's ten in the morning! We already missed three classes. I looked at your schedule and you have Swordplay with Mihawk."
My eyes immediately snap wide open. "Swordplay?!" I shout with glee.
"That's what I just said!"
I quickly grab my stuff and rush towards the bathroom. I get dressed in a similar outfit as when I first arrived, but this time my shirt is blue. My dagger is messily tangled in my hair, but I'm thankful to see that it's still there. I quickly fix my hair and tie it up again.
As I rush out the door in a hurry, I trip and am sent sprawling to the floor for the second time this morning. I hear Kid laughing behind me. I get up, obviously irritated, and stomp my heeled shoe on his foot as I walk past.
"Hurry up, Kiddie," I huff.
He grumbles in pain and annoyance and follows me with a slight limp. We make our way towards the Main Castle, with me a few yards ahead of him. Finally, we reach the large room inside with a large sword imprinted in the middle of the floor. Mihawk stands in fromt of the students who surround him. He catches Kid and I sneaking in and his eyes narrow.
"Today we will have students fight against each other," he begins as we finally settle among the crowd. "If you are an amateur at swordplay, then I suggest that you leave this room now or sit on the bleachers to watch and learn."
The majority of the class goes towards the bleachers including Kid. When he sees that I'm not coming he looks at me in confusion. "You know swordplay?"
I motion to the dagger in my hair, lazily rolling my eyes.
"That's just a dagger," he states in a flat voice as if I'm an idiot. "Not a sword, (Y/N)."
"Just watch, you idiot." I snap. I notice that there is only one other person standing in the arena with me. Zoro. He grins.
"Roronoa Zoro and (Y/N)." Mihawk speaks. "Please step forward." I obey, smirking at Zoro who has a confident look on his face.
"You may use any means necessary. Begin."
My hand moves swiftly towards the dagger in my hair. I pull it out, my hair cascading down, framing my face. My hand wraps around the hilt tightly.
"Prepare to lose." Zoro laughs.
My eyes narrow at him. "We'll see."
He holds one sword up. "I'll go easy on you."
I laugh. "Don't worry. You're not worth going all out on."
Both of us move forward at the same time, weapons clashing. He moves relentlessly, trying to wound me. I grit my teeth and manage to jab him in the side when he cuts my arm. Both of us fly back after a few minutes, panting.
He grins. "You're not too bad with that measly thing."
I laugh. "Same to you."
He grabs his other two swords. "Maybe you are worth going almost all out on."
I raise my eyebrow. "Do you want me to do the same?"
"I don't want a pity fight." He glares. "Show me what you got."
I shrug my shoulders. The students on the bleachers hold their breath as they wait to see what I'll do next. I close my eyes, sighing. "If you say so."
Abruptly, a sudden gust of wind shoots off from me. My hair flies up as my skirt ripples in the torrent. My dagger grows longer, a dark stormy color mixes with green, blue, and purple. When the wind stops, it's dead silent.
I tilt my head to the side, a slightly manic look in my eyes as I grin wickedly. I point my sword in Zoro's direction. "Try me."
With seconds, we lurch at each other, swords clashing forcefully. I move swiftly. Agility is one trait I'm glad I acquired. Yuki-San said that my mother had the same trait. My mother used to be a fierce warrior and my father was a pirate. When they first met, my mother fought to near death. She almost managed to win but my father was victorious. My mother was really fast and good at swordplay causing my father to instantly fall in love with her bravery and strength. I was told how she died. It was a cruel death that I do not want to be reminded of. As for my father, I only met him once. That was two years ago.
And now, that same agility helps me attempt to defeat Zoro.
His sword stabs my side deep, but I ram mine into his leg. Both of us continue to inflict wounds on each other until we're splattered with blood. It's a gruesome sight.
"You aren't so bad." Zoro pants. "I haven't healed entirely from my last battle, so I have to stop now."
I let out a small chuckle, trying to catch my breath. "You're not so bad in an injured state."
My sword shrinks back into its dagger form and both Zoro and I collapse. I close my eyes and laugh. I can't believe that he actually managed to make me go almost all out on him.
"I guess neither of us won." I smile.
"Good." He says. "I promised my captain that I'd never lose again."
"Next time, we go all out. Got it?"
"Yeah."
"Oi, (Y/N)!" I hear Chopper yell.
His footsteps approach and I open my eyes to him crouched above me. He looks at me worried. "Are you okay?"
"You should ask Zoro that." I say.
He glances at Zoro and gasps, running over to him to tend to his wounds. I sigh and stand up, my hand wrapped around my dagger firmly. The crowd still watches in shock, especially when I casually stride towards the exit, but Mihawk stops me.
"You didn't come to detention yesterday." He says in a flat voice, his cold eyes staring into mine. "Come later today at five along with the other two. If none of you show up, you'll get another."
I nod tiredly as he moves out of the way. I make my way back to my dorm, a soft smile on my face.
What a day.
~
"Shut up!" I scream.
"You shut up!" Kid yells.
"Then stop fighting you, idiots!" I shout at Kid and Law.
"Stop talking so loud, (Y/N)-ya." Law says.
I glare at the two. Too bad I'm stuck in detention for an hour now because of them. I wasn't even in their fight that took place two days ago! Why the hell am I stuck here then?!
Apparently, Ace was thrown in here too. For what reason? I have no idea.
When I showed up to detention, there was no teacher. We're just locked in a room with no escape until the hour is up. The door doesn't open until then and there're no window since the room is located in the basement. It's basically a dungeon and I'm stuck here with these three! Honestly, of all people, why them? What did I do to deserve this punishment?
"You shut it!" Kid yells at Law.
"Stop talking, you nincompoop!" I yell at Kid. "You're voice is so aggravating."
"Nincompoop?" He exclaims. "What the hell is that?!"
"You!"
"You called me a nincompoop?" He seethes. "How dare you?!"
"Oh, I dared!" I shoot back.
This time, it's he who launches himself at me, tackling me to the ground. I punch him in the face as he once again yanks on my hair. I knee his leg as he elbows my face.
We're pulled apart by an annoyed Ace. "Stop fighting you two!"
"Shut up!" Kid and I scream again, kicking him and sending him flying, crashing into the hard, stone wall.
I turn back to glare at Kid. "Why the hell am I stuck with you idiots in the first place! I had no part in your fight."
"How should I know?" Kid scowls. "Maybe Mihawk just hates you."
"It's obvious you hate me even more." I huff.
"You got that right." Kid says.
"Stop it!" Ace growls. "I'm sick of you people kicking me into walls when you've only been here for two days!"
It's not a surprise that both Kid and I kick him once more. I sigh and plop down on the stone floor, feeling drained. I feel drowsy and lay down, closing my eyes. "Tell me when the hour's over." I mumble, sleepily.
Kid snorts. "I'd be glad to just leave you locked in here."
I mentally roll my eyes. "Shut up, Kiddie."
"I told you not to call me that!" He says, threateningly.
"Who cares what you say." Law mutters.
"What'd you say, Cow Hat?!" Kid shouts, angry.
"I don't have time to deal with you." Law says in a leveled voice.
I sigh, opening my eyes. "Will you two stop bickering like children?! Especially you, Kiddie."
He sends me a death glare. "I'll get payback for this, (Y/N)!"
I close my eyes once more. "Yeah, sure. Whatever."
I hear him step forward but then he stops. "Let it go, Eustass-ya." Law says, quietly.
"Whatever."
I internally smile. Victory!
~
I storm into the cafeteria, fuming, a murderous look in my eyes. I scan the crowd of people, looking for one person in particular. I finally catch a mass of spiky, red hair and my anger burns deeper.
"Kid!" I screech across the room.
The room falls silent and everyone looks at me in surprise. I stomp over to him as his eyes narrow at my approaching figure. "What's wrong with you woman?!" He yelps when he sees the look in my eyes.
"What's wrong?!" I bark. "You left me there in the detention room!"
"So? You fell asleep. It wasn't my job to wake you up!"
"You, nincompoop!" I scream, punching him across the face. "I kindly asked you to wake me up!"
"Kindly?" He shrieks, clutching his face. "You called me Kiddie not even a minute after! Which I told you not to call me."
"It's not like you're nice to me either."
"I would never be nice to a person like you!" He retorts.
The entire cafeteria watches in amusement as we argue back and forth shouting insults and throwing punches and kicks here and there.
I sigh. "I don't have time for this."
"You don't have for this?! You're the one who came in here like a mad woman and started punching, insulting, and accusing me!"
I scowl at him. "Shut up. It was your fault anyway!"
"My fault?! I never agreed to waking you up in the first place!"
I slapped his arm. "You could've been a gentleman and have done so!"
"Do you even know where the hell we are?!" He laughs humorlessly. "A school for delinquents, that's where."
"I thought that you'd be different." I whisper quietly, my voice softening so that he's unable to hear.
"What insults are you sputtering under your breath now?" He accuses, his gaze never breaking.
I stare into his eyes, searching for something but I fail to find it. "Nothing." I finally say in a flat voice.
I turn around on my heel and walk out the cafeteria doors. What else should I have expected from a lowly pirate? I can't believe that I'd actually thought that he would—no. My defenses are breaking.
I can't let anyone in.
I don't want to hurt anyone.
This place is really getting to me.

Is this story boring?
Are my action scenes terrible?
