Spirit sat, waiting and watching. His long tail flicked back and forth. His mate has been in the pod for - what the paladin's say - just over twenty four hours.

Pelae sat beside him, tip of her tail tapping the floor. "Watching won't get her out faster." The little lion muttered, nudging Spirit.

The black lion purred and looked down. "Yes, I know. I just wish it could have prevented her from this."

"Well," Pelae meowed, shifting her weight in her paws, "we did what we could. We didn't know that was going to happen. Faune will be okay."

Adaoe sauntered up and plopped down on the other side of Spirit. "My paladin is going to fix it as well as her paladin so it won't happen again. Then they're going to do the same to ours so it won't happen to us." Adaoe purred and rolled onto his back. The yellow lion stretched his front paws in the air. "Faune will be okay. Maybe, while the green lion is down, you could try for some cubs."

Cloade then bounded over and rubbed against Pelae. "Yeah! She said she wanted some, right? Perfect opportunity once she's all healed up!" Pelae grumbled and shoved Cloade away. The blue lion pouted, then lightened up and bounced to Adaoe. "I have the best idea!" The other three groaned, Adaoe flopping onto his side. Cloade then laid on his father and his eyes sparkled as they looked up at Spirit. "Why don't we make an area, with the help of our paladins, for a future cub! Faune would love it!"

Spirit tilted his head and thought about it. "That's actually not bad. We should do that."

Pelae got to her paws and stretched. "One good idea doesn't make up for the millions of bad ideas."

"Hey!"

Pidge and Hunk hummed, both tapping their chins as they studied what they, Lance, and the lions made. Shiro was busy with Allura and Coran with Castle/ship diagnostics and Keith locked himself in the training bay.

"It is totally awesome!" Lance shouted, bouncing on the balls of his feet and his eyes sparkling. "It looks so awesome! Any lion cub would love this! There's enough room for a whole litter of cubs! So cool! So cool!"

Hunk reached over and pat Lance's back. "Calm down, Lance. It's just a play pen for a cub."

Pidge hummed. "Well, it is kinda cool. I mean, we manufactured a fencing that imitates glass with metal railing and there's pass in there to keep the cub warm without it's mother and to keep from getting hurt if it falls, then there's those super cool toys we made for-"

"I get it." Hunk muttered, cutting off Pidge. "It's cool. But it's missing something."

"Duh!" Lance yelled and ran through the open gate and into the cub area. "It's missing a mother and her cub! That's what! Wow, we are awesome! Can't believe my lion was the one with this idea."

Cloade puffed up his chest in pride, only to get shoved over by Pelae.

Pidge rolled her eyes and stepped forward to get out of the way of the two brawling lions. "I guess that is what's missing. Right, Hunk?"

Hunk nodded, picturing Faune with a tiny version of her bouncing around in the pen. "Yeah. It is."

"Alright!"

The lions and the three paladins jolted and whipped around to face the hangar doors as Coran strutted in. The Altean had a large grin on his face, Keith and Shiro behind him.

"Faune should be out of that pod any tic now!"

~

Spirit stood steady as Faune leaned on him for support, having just stumbled out of the pod. Faune purred and pressed her nose into his shoulder. "Thank you."

The black lion purred and curled his tail with hers before nudging her towards a corner of the bay. "The paladins helped us create something for you while you were healing."

Faune's eyes sparkled as she bounced excitedly. "Oh, what is it!?" Spirit chuckled and nodded in the direction of the cub pen. She gasped and forgot all about being barely able to stand on her own. Faune leapt the rest of the way, stumbling a few times, then squealed and rolled in the pen. "It's for cubs, isn't it!?" She stood back up, tail curling and head raised, her claws kneading into the pads.

Spirit purred and rubbed his head against hers. "Yes. It's for cubs."

"Wrench, please."

Adaoe meowed and dug his nose into his paladin's toolbox, searching for the asked for tool. Once the tool was found, Adaoe clamped his jaw around it and held it up for Hunk.

Hunk grinned at his lion and took the wrench. "Thanks, bud!" He reached down and pet Adaoe's head before returning to working on the green lion. "Now if I could just-"

"Morning, Hunk," Pidge grumbled as she shuffled into the hangar, still in pajamas and rubbing her eyes. Hunk cheerfully returned the greeting. "How's it comin'?"

The yellow paladin hummed, inspecting his work so far. "Not so good. This might take a lot longer than thought. There's damage sustained all around the pod and I still have things on the pod to fix. I'm going to need you at some point to get up in this book and fixing some plating and wiring that there is no way I could ever get to, then I have to work on the exterior and will need your help fixing and updating that so this damage won't happen again."

Pidge sighed and plopped down beside Adaoe. The yellow lion meowed and pulled the tiny paladin into his chest. Pidge only groaned, too tired to push away as she was buried in Adaoe's thick fur. Merrily, Adaoe lapped his tongue over Pidge's messy mane.

Hunk snickered softly at his fellow paladin and lion, then went back to work. "So it may take days to maybe possibly weeks."

There was a moment of silence after Pidge made a noise of acknowledgment, then a loud Lion's cry sounded. Both paladins jolted and Hunk looked over to see Faune barreling towards Adaoe and Pidge. "Uh-oh," he muttered just before the little green lion crashed directly into Adaoe and quickly snatched her paladin away.

Pidge drooped from Faune's jaw, whining tiredly. "Faune, put me down!"

Instead of doing as her paladin asked, Faune trotted back to to cub pen and lay down beside Spirit. She purred and lay her paladin beside her, then began grooming her hair again.

Pidge groaned, but didn't fight back. "Whatever."
