Agent
Klance
Police/FBI AU
(I've recently watched too much Criminal Minds)
Keith sighed, his pen clicking. He had nothing... Absolutely nothing on this damn asshole that's been dropping bodies for the past year. Twelve innocent people murdered in their own home. All by the same person. Keith was set as head of this investigation, and he still had nothing on who in the world this serial killer could be.
So, Keith finally gathered his nerve, and called the FBI for help on this case.
At any minute they should be arriving.
"So, I hear from Nancy that you have an old buddy in the FBI BAU?" The officer beside him muses as he leans over. Keith shrugs and leans back. "Well? Is it true? If it is, you've never told me."
Keith shrugged again. "So what if I do? Besides, we don't even talk anymore. I haven't seen or heard from him in two years."
The officer beside him sniggered. "Think he'll be on of the men coming down?"
"Maybe, maybe not. I don't know. I never told them my name, so he may be more willing to come than if I had said my name." Keith grumbled, and the officer beside him blinked owlishly.
"As, man, this guy hates you? What happened?"
"Kevin, it's personal." Keith grumbled as he stood up. He pulled his hair back into a ponytail. "I'd rather not tell."
Kevin sighed, then shrugged. "Worth a shot. Man, I just wanted to get to know my buddy better."
Keith shook his head. "I just don't like who I was before I came down here, buddy. It's not something I like to talk about. Now, if you don't mind, when the agents get here, have them head to the most recent scene? I'll be there."
"Do you want me to mention your name?" Kevin snorted and Keith rolled his eyes as he grabbed his jacket. "See which one gets all angry and pissy, grabs me by the collar and screams in my face, demanding I repeat the name I've just mentioned?"
"You do that. Have fun." Keith gave a short wave over his shoulder, then left a cackling officer behind.
~
"Why did you tell Kevin that I know someone from the FBI?" Keith grumbled as he approached Nancy at the scene of a murder that happened just the day previous.
Nancy sighed. "It was a slip-up, sweetie. Just be glad I didn't mention the boy's name." Keith smiled and rolled his eyes. "So how are you, butter-beans? I haven't seen you all week."
Keith huffed. "That's because you went on vacation with three little demons and the devil."
The woman laughed. "You mean my beautiful little children and my darling husband?"
"If that's what you want to call them."
Nancy giggled, then pat his shoulder. "How can you expect to have a family someday if all you see are little red horns and a forked tail, butter-beans?"
"You of all people should know that I'm gay and unable to get pregnant or impregnate my spouse."
"But gay men adopt, sweetie." Nancy giggled, then glanced over her shoulder. "Big men are here. You wanna talk to them?"
Keith gave her a look. "I should, since I'm the lead on this case."
"Right, right." Nancy nodded, then gave his ass a pat. "Go on, go on. Go see your old buddies."
The younger man chuckled. "You never change." He mused, then walked out the bedroom door.
Two FBI already stood in the living room. Keith broke out in a grin when he recognized one. "Well, Shiro. Two whole years since I've last seen you."
Shiro laughed and pat Keith's shoulder before embracing him. "Too long is how long it's been, Keith. Man, it's good to see you. Hey, Pidge. Come meet Keith."
The girl beside Shiro, Pidge, smiled and held out her hand. "Nice to meet you. Katie Holt, but everyone calls me Pidge. So you're the famous Keith Kogane I've heard about. I pictured a scrawny kid from the eighties."
Shiro laughed as Keith, puzzled, shook her much smaller hand. "How old are you?" Keith asked. A cocky smirk spread on the short woman's face.
"Seventeen. Eighteen in two months."
Keith's eyes widened. "And you're in the BAU!?"
Shiro nodded and proudly pat Pidge's shoulder. "Yup. Best and brightest. After meeting her, I wasn't so surprised she was given to us. Super smart, and pulls the best pranks I've ever seen."
Keith snorted. "Can't she get kicked out for that?"
Pidge shrugged, then pointed to the open door behind Keith. "May I go in?"
"Go ahead. Find something I couldn't. I have no doubt there is something in there I can't see." Keith stepped aside, then watched her go in and heard a brief greeting between her and his childhood friend, Nancy.
Shiro hummed, then sighed. "So how's it been, being back in Texas and away from Virginia?"
Keith shrugged. "It's been good. Nice to be home."
The older man smiled. "How's your dad?"
"He's good. Still visits mom's grave every holiday and anniversary."
Shiro chuckled. "He's still devoted to her even after all this time."
Keith nodded. "Yeah."
"Hey, yo, Shiro. I didn't see any signs of forced entry, so I don't know how this guy got in." A new agent stepped up to the front door and Keith froze up.
His head tilted back, examining above the door for anything. His blue tie was just slightly loose, only the top button undone, and the sleeves of his white shirt were rolled up to his elbows. His black suit jacket lay over his shoulder and he raised his sunglasses.
Keith lowered his head and Shiro noticed Keith's quick change in demeanor.
"Maybe the victim knew their killer." Shiro suggested with a gesture. "It's not impossible."
"But all the other houses of the previous victims showed signs of forced entry. Why doesn't this house?" The tanned man grumbled, lowering his head to rub at the back of his neck. "Man, it's hot as hell."
Shiro chuckled. "Maybe the victim was home, so he let them in, Lance. Go around and look for signs of someone holing up to watch the victim."
Lance nodded and spun on his heel. "Sure. Call if you need anything." He flicked his wrist and walked away.
The older man looked down at Keith with a raised brow. "Alright, even after two years, I still have no idea what the hell happened between you two."
"It's complicated." Keith sighed, then headed back to the room of the scene. He was glad that Shiro didn't press for more as he followed.
~
Pidge typed away on her laptop, leaning back in the chair she claimed as her in the conference room at the station.
Shiro and Hunk spoke quietly amongst themselves while Lance leaned back in his chair and kicked his feet up onto the table, going through the pictures from each of the crimes mounted on the boards. Lance was the only one the didn't look up when Keith opened the door.
Keith cleared his throat. "Uh, got a profile for me?"
Shiro nodded, flicking the side of Lance's head. Lance whined and swatted at Shiro. "Yeah. Gather your guys." Keith nodded, then exited the room. Shiro glared down at Lance and Pidge snickered. "You can't ignore him forever."
Lance nodded. "You're right. But I can ignore him for the few days that we're going to be here." He muttered as he stood.
"Just tell me what happened, and I'll stop telling you to talk to him." Shiro folded his arms over his broad chest.
The younger agent huffed and picked up his jacket. "No can do, Shiro." He grumbled and walked out.
~
"So our guy is most likely a white male in his late twenties to late thirties." Pidge started.
Shiro gave her a nod. "The way he is showing off is to grab attention, but it doesn't seem like he wants everyone's attention. Maybe just a group or a person. So he probably drives just an everyday car. Nothing eye-catching, nothing you'd stop and look at. He's also short and skinny."
A couple of the officers snorted and muttered amongst themselves, but quieted down after a moment.
Lance sighed and stepped up. "This guy watches their victims, maybe starting the week after they've killed their previous victim. He breaks into their houses, except for the last victim. We think the killer maybe knew this last victim, and the victim knew him. We also think, since these attacks are sexual release for the killer and all the victims are male, he could be homosexual."
One of the officers huffed. "That'll be difficult. No one around these parts freely admits they're homo, 'cept Keith. Well, he doesn't freely admit, everyone just knows."
In the back, Keith rolled his eyes. "Shut up, Kevin." Kevin just snickered, sinking into his chair.
Hunk chuckled. "He may have a criminal record and may have previously been a doctor of some sorts. So look at doctors released just before the murders started. We'll start with the ones released three weeks to two months before the first murder. Let's go stop a killer."
The cops started up conversations as they stood up and began shuffling around.
Keith wove through the crowd of cops he's come to know for two years up to the agents. "You know how difficult it's going to be to find this guy with that profile? No one here drives a flashy or noticeable car, no one ever tells anyone they're gay, nothing. All that's good is a doctor released from jail a year ago."
Shiro sighed and set his hand on Keith's shoulder. "You've always been close-minded. Don't worry. We'll find this guy."
Keith sighed, unsure, but nodded. "Alright. Find him." He murmured, then looked after Lance's retreating figure. Keith pursed his lips and looked away.
~
Keith paused, freezing up. He was hoping Shiro or Hunk or even Pidge were in the room, but it was just Lance.
Lance's back was to him. His shoulders were broader than Keith remembered, his hair just slightly longer and he had a bit of scruff on his jaw and just above his lip. Hardly noticeable at first. His arms were thicker as well, his jaw sharper.
Keith tried to remember how to breathe. "My guys found a few guys that could be our killer. About five."
The agent looked over his shoulder to Keith and the cop's breath hitched as their eyes met. Lance turned back to the pictures on the board and gestured to the table. "Set it on the table. I'll go through it with Shiro when he gets back."
The older man breathed deeply. "Where'd they go?"
"To see the other crime scenes. See if there's been anything left behind or just not there." His voice was distant, as if he wished he was speaking to someone else. Lance wasn't as cheery as Keith remembered, either.
"Lance, I-" Keith started, stepping forward and letting the door shut behind him. Lance's shoulders tensed. "I'm sorry..."
The room fell unbearingly silent.
Slowly, Lance twisted his torso just slightly to look at Keith. "I don't want to hear about it."
Keith's jaw clenched and his chest throbbed painfully. "Lance, I just- I just wanted to apologize-"
"Well, I've had enough of it." Lance sighed, turning back to the boards. "I'm tired of hearing your bullshit lies." Keith flinched. "Go tell your guys that the man we're chasing is mostly likely obsessive."
Keith stood rigid, then mechanically nodded. "'Kay."
~
Keith stared at the wall across the room, dazed and chest tight. He yelped as he was snapped out of his trance by a quick yank to his chair.
"Whoa!" Kevin burst out laughing. "I've never seen you with your guard so low!" Keith shot the older man a glare as he tossed an arm around his shoulders. "Alright, my man. Be as straight with me as you possibly can, despite being gayer 'n hell." Keith raised a brow. "What happened between you and Agent Cuban?"
Keith rolled his eyes. "McClain." He corrected and Kevin gave a passive wave of his hand. "It happened two years ago. It doesn't matter."
Kevin scoffed. "Yes it does. Listen, bud... You're probably the only gay friend I've got, and I want all my friends happy, despite my dislike for men fuckin' other men." Keith chuckled. "What happened and maybe I can help?"
The younger officer sighed and rubbed his face in his hands. "Kevin, I... I cheated on him."
"Oh, shit!" Kevin hollered, leaping back in surprise. "I'll be damned! I didn't know gay men could cheat!"
Keith groaned, turning his chair. "Tone it down, Kevin."
Kevin nodded and lowered. "How bad did you cheat? How bad was it when he figured out?"
Keith shook his head. "I've already said too much."
"No!" Kevin leaned in close and grabbed the arms of Keith's chair. "You will tell me, Kogane."
"Do I have to?"
"Yes."
"Fine." Keith sighed. "I was feeling neglected, but I knew that Lance was just busy with work."
"Were you married or something?"
"No, just dating, but we lived together and he was planning on proposing."
"Harsh."
"Shut up, you're the one who wants to hear the story." Keith breathed in. "So, Lance had been working a lot more, but he still- he found time for me. I guess I just thought it wasn't enough and I let myself feel neglected. So, while he worked and I was free, I started to go out to meet other guys."
"Why didn't you just break up with him?" Kevin inquired.
Keith shrugged. "I don't know... I never thought about breaking up with him."
Kevin furrowed his brows. "That's..."
"I know." Kevin carded his fingers through his hair. "Anyway, I met this one guy... Alex. Really kind. He started to take me out and one night... Things got a little hot."
Kevin groaned and dropped his head. "Aw, man... Keith..."
"It didn't get that far, just... I'm sure you really don't want the details, but then that night, when I got home, Lance was already asleep. That was when I started to feel guilty. I shook it off, and went to sleep. The next day, Lance made me breakfast and was so... Happy. He said he took off the same week I was taking off so we could spend some time together." Keith breathed in again, trying to release the tightness in his chest. "Over the next few days, I was regretting what I'd done more and more, and... He told me about his last few relationships. All ended bad and most had cheated on him because apparently... He wasn't good enough. Despite the way he carries himself, he's actually really insecure. I-"
"Wait wait wait, before you continue, did you and Lance ever fuck?" Kevin waved a hand, eyes wide and curious.
Keith sighed, then nodded. "Yeah. Like, twice in our two years of being together. He was so busy and tired all the time, so we hardly did much together."
Kevin nodded, then flicked his fingers. "Go on."
"So, he told me this, and I felt worse. We told each other that we love one another and went to bed. I decided to tell Alex it's over and that I was going to stay with Lance. So, I did the next day. Alex seemed fine, so it was so easy. I went home to Lance after getting some groceries and we just spent that day together. I was so happy, but then... The next day... I came home from a visit to Shiro's, and..." Keith lowered his head.
"Lance was sitting on the couch. His face was in his hands and I could... Hear my voice from the laptop..."
"Oh my Lord..."
"Alex had video taped us that night... And sent it to Lance..."
Kevin sighed, rubbing his face. "Aw, man..."
Keith gulped. "Lance couldn't even look at me. He just stood and said... 'Get out.'"
"Ouch... That's gotta hurt." Kevin groaned. "Did you get out?" The look Keith gave him sent him dashing across the station, shouting for Nancy.
~
"So you cheated?"
Keith sighed and slumped over the table. "How did you hear?"
Shiro sat beside him. "I was behind you. The whole time. I heard all of it." Shiro shook his head. "I'm... I'm disappointed, Keith. That's something I never thought you could do."
"Shiro, could you not make me feel worse?" Keith muttered. "I feel terrible as is. It's been two years."
"Yet you still love him and he can't stand to be in the same building as you." Shiro stated and Keith averted his gaze. "Did you apologize."
"Yes. Over and over and over again." Keith carded his fingers in his hair. "I tried apologizing yesterday when he was alone in here and he... He just... He got so mad. He didn't yell or anything, but he was so angry."
The older man sighed. "Do you want me to talk to him?"
Keith groaned, leaning back. "Shiro, it's been two years. It's a little late for talking to him about it."
Shiro shrugged and stood. "You never know, Keith. I really think he can't get over you, just like you can't get over him."
"I doubt that, Takashi." Keith grumbled and stood as well. "Do what you want, I don't think anything would work."
A small smirk curled Shiro's lips. "I'll do my best."
~
Keith and Lance both blinked owlishly at Shiro, standing as far from each other as possible in the small conference room.
"What?" Lance was the first to ask.
Shiro nodded firmly, arms crossed over his chest. "I want you two to go talk to all of these men." He gestured to the small stack of files on the table beside him. "Also, you have to do it together."
Lance stepped forward. "Uh, no way. I am not driving him around. I'll just go alone-"
"No. No one goes alone. You two are going together." Shiro stated.
The younger agent shot a glare to the cop. "You told him to do this!" He accused.
"I did not!" Keith shouted. "I wouldn't-"
"Stop shouting." Shiro interrupted. He sighed softly. "No one told me to do anything. You two are going together, and that's final. I do not want to hear another word about it." He shot a glare over to Lance and the other agent groaned.
Keith breathed deeply. "We should get going."
Lance huffed and grabbed his jacket. "Fine. We're taking the SUV and not one of your stupid cop cars."
"Fine."
~
The silence was overwhelming to Keith.
Suffocating.
Keith stared out the window.
Slowly, he looked over at Lance.
The agent slumped in the drivers seat, one hand on the wheel. His sunglasses covered his eyes, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He wasn't wearing a tie, though. Keith breathed deeply and forced himself to look ahead.
"I'm sorry." He murmured. Keith saw Lance's hand tense on the wheel. "Lance, you have no idea how sorry I am for everything I've done."
Lance's lips pursed, jaw clenched and nostrils flared. Just as he used to when angry or stressed. "Keith, just... No. Not now."
Keith leaned forward, looking back to Lance. "Then when? We live half a country apart."
"Guess who's fault that is."
"Lance, just- please hear me out!" Keith shouted. Lance rolled his head and sighed. "Lance, look, I was just- I... What I did wasn't right. There's no way to right my wrong, but Lance, I... I felt neglected, that's why I did that."
Lance huffed. "Neglected? I did everything I could. You knew I was busy."
Keith nodded. "I did, I did, but I just- you were gone more often then not, you were beyond tired when you were with me, so I just felt like you had no time for me..."
"So you went out to find other guys to go and fuck behind my back." Lance finished and Keith smacked the dash.
"No, that's not- it was just him and that was as far was we got!"
"You seemed to really enjoy it just being him sucking your dick." Keith flinched back. "You didn't even say my name. You weren't even thinking about me. And you didn't even have the decency to break up with me."
Keith slowly nodded and looked down. "I know... I know, it was so wrong of me. I just... I wanted... I fell right back in love with you that week."
The young agent chuckled darkly, but amusedly. "While I was still oblivious and still in love. It would have just been easier to break up with me. We're here." Lance pulled the car up to the curb, turned it off, and got out as quickly as he could.
~
Keith sighed, tossing the files to Shiro from across the table. "We have two more guys. None of these did it." He muttered, sitting down.
Shiro hummed, taking the files. "Well, how'd it go with Lance yesterday?"
"Shiro, did you have to?" Keith groaned, slumping. "He really, surely, completely hates me. I tried to apologize and tell him I know that I was wrong, and he just... Everything he said just made me feel worse."
The older man huffed, looking through the files. "I'd hoped something would have been resolved."
"Nothing is ever going to be resolved between us, Shiro." Keith stood. "I've already accepted that. I still love him, even after all this time, and I've accepted the fact that he doesn't want anything to do with me."
"Clearly not." Shiro straightened up, folding his arms. "You're crying."
Keith blinked to find his eyes stung. He touched his cheeks to feel wetness. "Oh..."
Shiro shook his head, then stood up. "Keith, whether you've accepted it or not, it doesn't matter because you're still hurting."
"And my hurting doesn't matter because he'll never accept me." Keith pushed his chair back, then stomped out of the room as he rubbed at his eyes.
"Damn." Shiro muttered, rubbing at his face.
~
Lance knocked on a dark, mahogany door. "Dr. Zarkon? FBI, open up. We have some questions for you."
Keith sighed. "I'm not really FBI."
"But I am." He muttered back, taking a step back. Lance left his sunglasses on his head.
After a moment of silence, Keith stepped forward and knocked. "Dr. Zarkon, it's Detective Kogane. Remember me?"
There was a slight shuffle inside, then the door opened. "Detective. It's nice to see you. Would you like to come inside?"
Keith gave the man a smile. "If we may." The doctor nodded and stepped to the side. "Thank you."
Dr. Zarkon nodded. "Can I get you something to drink?"
Lance looked around the room. "I'm fine, I don't need anything."
The doctor shot Lance a side glare. "I wasn't asking you."
The agent raised a brow as he looked over to the tall man. Dr. Zarkon switched back to his chipper attitude and went to the kitchen.
Keith hummed. "A cup of coffee sounds nice." He stepped over to a bookshelf. "Family?"
"Ah, yes. My son and my late wife." Zarkon murmured. "She passed away many years ago and my son never comes to visit anymore."
"I'm sorry." Keith sighed, looking at their smiles.
Lance started lifting journals and peeking under, then looked through the journals. Lance blinked, then sighed through his nose. Keith's schedule.
The agent stuffed his hands in his pockets and went over to Keith.
"Would you like anything in your coffee? Milk or anything?"
Keith shook his head. "No thanks. Lactose intolerant."
Zarkon nodded. "Right, right. I forgot."
The detective blinked, then furrowed his brows. "Wha...?"
Lance leaned over, pressing against Keith's back. "Follow along." He whispered beneath his breath and Keith gulped. He slowly nodded, shuddering as Lance placed a hand on his waist. "I'm going to need to ask you some questions, doc."
"Uhm, sure. Sure, what about?" The doctor asked, preoccupied with making the perfect cup of coffee for Keith.
"The recent murders." Lance responded, his other hand taking Keith's. Keith bit his lip as their fingers wove together. Lance's hands we're so warm and calmed him. "Would you happen to know anyone who could be a possible killer? Maybe someone new who moved in about a year ago? Some one released from prison a year ago?" Lance leaned over and pressed his nose into the crook of Keith's neck. Keith shivered, tilting his head. Pleasent tingles traveled through Keith's body at Lance's touch.
"Well, there are some." Zarkon muttered, turning around. He froze up, dark eyes widening. "What... What are you...?"
Lance pulled back, much too quickly for Keith's liking. "Could you tell us those some?"
Zarkon blinked owlishly. "S-sure... Uhm, well, there's the man across the street; James Sendak."
The agent nodded as he eyed the coffee Zarkon handed Keith. "We talked to him yesterday."
"He clear?"
"Not completely." Lance mused, grabbing his phone. "I got to make a call. I'm going to step outside for just a moment. You mind?" Lance looked to Keith and briefly, lightly brushed his fingers over Keith's cheek.
Keith's breath hitched, but he shook his head. "Go on." Lance hummed, then stepped outside.
Zarkon fiddled with his mug. "How, uhm, how close are you to the- that agent?"
"Agent McClain?" Keith took a sip from his coffee. "We knew each other when I lived in Virginia."
The doctor slowly nodded, tapping at his mug irritably as he eyed Lance out the window. "Really? How well?"
Keith gulped. "We were friends."
Zarkon hummed and stood. "Excuse me. I forgot about something I had to do."
"Uh, alright..." Keith watched Zarkon walk into the hallway and vanish into one of the rooms. Keith stepped over to the door, then opened it. Lance stood on the porch, still on the phone with Shiro.
"Alright... See ya in a few." He murmured, then hung up. Lance turned, then sighed as he spotted Keith. "Where's doctor stalker?"
"I'm confused." Keith muttered. "Why'd you do that?"
Lance rolled his eyes. "As unobservant as ever. This guy is stalking you. I opened one of his journals and found your schedule. He knew you were lactose intolerant. How does that not shout stalker?"
Keith blinked owlishly. "You think Zarkon is our guy?"
Lance nodded, carding his fingers through his hair. "Yeah. He's been trying to get your attention. Clearly he thinks he's in live with you. Where'd he go?" Lance stepped inside beside Keith as the detective gestured to the hallway.
"Said he had something to do." Keith whispered, looking back outside when he caught movement. He gasped, eyes widening. "Lance, get down!"
BANG
~
Sirens quieted, red and blue lights flashing.
Lance rubbed at his face as he leaned against the hood of a car.
"Keith'll be fine." Shiro yawned, rubbing the back of his head as he approached the younger agent. "Doc is on his way to the station."
"'Kay." Lance muttered, glancing to the ambulance. "Shit... This is my fault..."
Shiro sighed. "How is it your fault? How did you know he'd shoot at you in plain daylight?"
Lance groaned. "I provoked him."
Shiro chuckled. "And how did you manage that?"
Red crawled up Lance's neck to his cheeks and the tips of his ears. "I... I touched Keith and kept close to him... To see his reaction."
"Oh, yeah?" A smirk made its way to Shiro's face. "Was it to see Zarkon's reaction, or Keith's reaction?"
Lance's jaw clenched. "Shiro, shut up."
Pidge trotted over. "Shiro, Allura called." Shiro nodded and told her to tell Allura he'd call back. Pidge nodded. "Okay. So, the EMT said that Keith should be out of the hospital in a day since there was no major damage."
"Good. Lance, why don't you go to the hospital?"
"Shiro, we got to leave at some point. We're done here." Lance grumbled with a gesture with his right hand.
Shiro nodded, then patted his shoulder. "I know. We'll wait just one more day to get a confession out of Zarkon."
Lance huffed. "Even though we have enough to convict him without a confession?" Shiro Just shrugged with a smile before following Pidge. Lance sighed, dropping his head.
~
"I never thought someone would ever want to stalk me." Keith sighed, sinking into his couch.
Lance hummed, closing and locking the apartment door behind him. "And why's that?"
Keith huffed, adjusting his arm. "I'm pretty sure you of all people would know why."
"I suppose." Lance shrugged, leaning against the wall with his arms folded over his chest. "However, doctor stalker didn't know your past. You never told anyone here what you did when in Virginia. Well, except for Nancy."
The detective nodded, staring off out the window. "Yeah..."
Lance watched Keith, then breathed deeply. "Have you been with anyone recently?"
Keith snorted. "No."
"Why?"
"Because I-" Keith stopped himself, then lowered his head.
The agent tilted his head. "What? Because you what?"
Keith sighed. "Because I was stuck on you... I wanted to make things better. I wanted to see you again, and I wanted... I wanted to know you weren't hurting anymore because of me."
Both were silent for a moment until Lance pushed himself off the wall and stepped over to Keith. The cop looked up at Lance, then his eyes widened as Lance leaned down until they were eye level. "Lance!?" He gasped, then jolted with a muffled yelp as soft lips pressed to his.
Keith stared up at Lance in shock as the younger pulled away. "I'll call when I land." Lance murmured, grabbed his jacket and keys, then left Keith's apartment.
Keith blinked owlishly in shock, then his hands flew to his mouth, face bright red. "Holy shit..."
