Katie was content just curled up on Shiro's chest. Instead of being in her room, they had made their way to his room. His room was somehow warmer than hers. It also had more damage. Katie traced her fingers over the gash in the wall. It arched just a few inches above the mattress, burned black and faded to the grey of the rest of the wall. She didn't have to ask to know it was a nightmare that caused this.

Shiro sighed softly as he woke. He shifted and squeezed his arms around her waist. Katie laughed softly and pressed her lips to his chest. "Morning!" Her voice sing-song'd.

The black paladin hummed. "Morning, baby girl. Why are you awake before me?"

Katie traced circles on his chest. "I had a bad dream and it woke me up. So I just stayed awake. I almost thought about leaving and working on my projects, but then I didn't want you to be all lonely since Faz stayed with Hunk last night."

Shiro chuckled. "You're like Fazluna's mother, now." A blush crept up on Katie's face. "You're a good mom."

"Thanks..." She whispered, biting her lip. "You know, Shiro... I do want to be a mom, someday. Maybe not now, since we're still in a war, but I just... I've always wanted to be a scientist, but I've also always wanted to have children of my own. Faz is kind of..."

"Like practice." Shiro continued for her and rubbed her back. "You'll be a mom, someday, and you'll be a wonderful mother." Katie raised herself and smiled at him. She shuffled up and pressed her lips to his. "I love you, Katie."

Katie giggled, their noses brushing. "I love you, too."

Katie let Fazluna sit on her shoulders as she worked on her projects. The young alien played with her hair and sang softly.

The green paladin listened with a smile, keeping her focus on the wiring.

Fazluna began braiding Katie's hair, the, shuffled around to see Katie's face. "Hey, mama? Can we go play with daddy?"

Katie blinked, then gasped and jolted back. "D-did you just-!" She looked over at Fazluna's innocent expression. Fazluna blinked owlishly, then smiles brightly. Katie smiled and took Fazluna into her arms. "Sure. Let's go find him."

Fazluna hummed and twirled as they made their way down the halls, searching for Shiro. Once they spotted him talking to Matthew and Allura, Fazluna cried giddily and dashed over. "Daddy! Daddy!" She giggled, reaching up to him.

Red lit up Shiro's cheeks, but he picked her up. "What is it, Faz?" The little alien just nuzzled him while Allura and Matthew giggled.

Katie came up to stand beside Shiro. "She wanted to come see you was all." She answered.

Shiro hummed and patted Fazluna's back. "Alright. Anyway, as I was saying..."

"Mama?" Fazluna trotted up to Katie and crawled into her lap. "Mama, I wanna see Earth."

Katie hummed and looked down. "Where'd you hear about Earth?"

Fazluna nestled into Katie. "Uncle Lance was just talking about it. Said he misses home. I asked him, and he explained Earth to me. Earth sounds wonderful. So many cultures and, uhm... What did uncle Hunk call them?"

"Environments?"

"Yes! And different climates, too!" Her large, purple eyes shined as she looked up at Katie. "All the different creatures and weather patterns and everything! I wanna see it all!"

Katie smiled and pet her hair. "Maybe someday you can see Earth."

Fazluna giggled and nuzzled Katie. "I'm so happy, mama!"

The green paladin giggled and wrapped her arms around Fazluna. "I'm so happy, too!"

If Katie had to pick out a single thing she missed most about her brother, it would be his hugs. She's always thought Matthew's hugs were the best.

"I don't want you to go, again. You could get abducted all over again."

Matthew laughed and squeezed her. "Come on, Katie-Kat. I'll be fine. I know how to fight and everything, now. Besides, we'll be keeping in contact."

Katie huffed, but didn't let him go. "You jerk. You just keep on leaving me."

The older sibling hummed, rubbing her back. "But we'll be able to talk, this time, now you'll know I'm safe. I sure feel safe knowing who all the paladins are."

She smiled up at him as he ruffled her hair. "Dad always knew you'd be great, Katie. He was right. Then again, when isn't he? He's the smartest."

"And the best."

"Right. And the best." Matthew leaned down and kissed her forehead. "I'll talk to you later, Katie-Kat."

"Okay. Bye, Matt." Katie slowly released him, and he picked up Fazluna.

Fazluna giggled and nuzzled him. "Uncle Matt!"

Matthew laughed. "Little Fazzie! Take care of your mama." Fazluna nodded. Katie huffed and crossed her arms. "Take care of your old man, too."

Shiro narrowed his eyes at Matthew as he took Fazluna. "Do not teach her to call me that." Matthew snickered and shrugged. "Stay safe, smarty-pants." Shiro reached over and ruffled Matthew's hair. Matthew nodded.

"Bye guys." He lifted himself into the pod prepared for him.

Once he was gone, Lance decided to speak up. "Maybe next time he comes back, we can have a quick fuck."
