"Veronica the principal wants to see you" Sam said,my eyes met with his coffee brown eyes and then it fell back on my book.

"Ok"I simply replied and he left. You can call me Veronica or Vero,they both sound perfect,I'm described as a terror,my friends call me trouble, my parents call me problem and my siblings call me disaster.

"You are here again Veronica Chiamaka Anthony for the fifth time this month" the secretary said as she typed away on her computer, she was a bit beautiful but had big lips that she applied lipstick that could paint our whole school, it was simply too much,could i mention her dress sense was bad, a long gown with sneakers, who does that? I slapped my forehead for her.

"Go in"she motioned without raising her eyes from the screen,I went in and immediately the cold air in the principal's office hit me in the face and it was awesome to cool my nerves and for the drama I was about to act,the office was spacious, the principal's table at the centre,chairs for visitors,the different awards won by the school were arranged on the cabinet at the far end of the room and some files arranged in a cupboard. A man and a woman sat on the available seats and Amanda stood beside them and I assumed she was their daughter, no way! It couldn't be,i knew this couple, the Almighty chief Dozie and his wife,how was it possible that they gave birth to the idiot that was glaring at me.

"Good morning sir" i greeted the principal first before greeting the couple,Mr Dozie replied warmly but his wife kept looking at me like i was familiar.

"What did you do to Amanda?" The principal asked and cleared my throat and started in a calm voice

"Sir i was just sitting on my own,Amanda came from nowhere,she overheard me complimenting a girl's watch and then she called me a poor girl and I called her a sickler,she tried fighting me and then I had to defend myself"

Well that was it, I really pushed that girl and made sure she fell on the floor, ever since I came to this school,I became Amanda's sworn enemy, OK ,maybe I had the attention of guys but it wasn't my fault that I was light skinned,curvy with a moderate height, my mum told me I had small lips and then my brother being a wonderful brother told me I had bowlegs.

"Chimamanda is that true?"Mr Dozie asked his lean daughter,for a lean girl like her she was troublesome.

"No dad,she's a liar" she replied rolling her eyes at me,her straight noise flared up and her brown hands at her back.

She was usually called melanin goddess,she had a brown skin and since her dad was the second richest man in the country competing with uncle Dangote,her skin was well taken care of, I wonder how Mr Dozie was able to come despite his tight schedule. He was fair and not the typical Igbo man with large tummy,he was quite handsome for his age,tall and his ankara did well on his body, I noticed that his Rolex was glistering, it looked like pure gold,probably up to half a million.

"Chimamanda and Veronica, I want you both to apologize to each other and I don't want to hear of this"the principal ordered.

"Sorry" we both said immediately, I noticed Amanda had a duh look on her face. The principal then faced me directly.

"Veronica seriously I'm sick and tired of you, the only reason why I haven't sent you out of this school is because of your brain,reports always come to me about you,you are either exchanging words with a prefect and up to mischief, last week you applied gum on the handle of the door and your teacher couldn't free his hand" I could remember Mr Danjuma's face clearly,I had mixed six different types of gum for him,he kicked the door,tried to free his hand and then finally bursted into tears like a baby.

The principal was not through yet.

"Last month you sprayed glitter on your classmate, you painted the white board black because you and your classmates hate maths and the other time you called Chijoke a baboon and a rejected child and its a wonder how you are academically sound" the principal concluded.

"Its the work of the Lord Sir" I said and earned a death glare from the principal

"You can leave but be warned" the principal said and I walked out. I got into this school through a scholarship and these rich kids think they can bully me,they thought it was Korean film.

I entered my class and sat on my chair that was close to the window where i could occasionally look outside.

"Veronica I saw you leaving the principal's office" Adora said behind me

"OK,that's awesome"I replied faking a smile

"What did you do? She asked, she knew I got into trouble again,well Adaora was my best friend, she was from a rich home and had a brother she usually told me about. She was a bit chubby and had a dimple on her caramel cheek,i loved her colour honestly and i hate it when she cried or complained about being chubby. So how did I become her friend, she was being taunted by one of Amanda's minion,I can't remember her name, either Yemi or Yinka or Yewande or Yetunde or Yemisi,didn't really know,all I knew was that it began with Y. The poor innocent Adaora was crying and that was when I acted as Wonder Woman, I called the girl an idiot that forgot to collect shape from God, she was probably gossiping then.

"Don't go and lick butter oh,be there looking like stick,breeze will soon pack you and drop you in the forest where you belong with your other trees"I said.
From that day, Adaora became my friend.

"Well its that stupid Amanda,she reported me to her parents for calling her a sickler" I said and Adaora shook her head in laughter,her dimples deepened at that action and immediately i wished i had one,hers were deep like holes made into her cheeks.

"You are wicked honestly"Adaora said.
"She really has luck"I replied and looked out to the fields,a large land indeed, every corner of this school was surrounded with flowers with rose flower being the dominant one,it was against the school rule to pick the flowers but trust some boys to pick it and give them to their girlfriends.

"My brother is coming home today" Adaora announced, according to her,hert brother was living in Australia and now he was coming home,the happiness was bubbling in her voice and I wonder I would be so happy to receive my brother,Chima like that if he travelled, he was the real definition of annoying,he graduated from secondary school recently and was waiting for admission, my elder sister was already in the university studying engineering.

"That's nice"I said and she nodded,she was carrying several textbooks which I was just noticing,physics, mathematics,chemistry and the last one that I could not see.

"We are having English now right?" I asked and she nodded. Just then the bell rang and Adaora went back to her seat,my seat make Bisi returned, she had a nylon filled with sweets,hm,she wasn't going to learn her lessons,she removed a tooth two months ago and now her nylon was filled with sweets. Her white blazer was stained at the top and I knew she wasn't aware,I watched as she popped open her button revealing the white shirt we wore over the red skirt. On cue the new English teacher walked in.

"Good morning class,My name is Mr Adebola and I'm your new English teacher" I observed his petite figure and the navy blue suit he was putting on. He had small dim eyes and then my eyes landed on his nose.

"Bisi look at how large this man's nose is,if he sneezes now we will all fly out of our seats,are you sure that the 36 million stolen is not inside that nose?" I asked her and she chuckled quietly and then I continued "We should call him nobody NOSE tomorrow"

This time around,Bisi laughed loudly and the teacher sighted us and told us to stand up.

"Stand up and tell me why you were laughing?" He said trying to be stern.

"Sir its Veronica" Bisi said an i opened my mouth in feigned surprise.

"Bisi did I force you to laugh,did I say Bisi you must laugh or i kill you,Bisi please,he asked "why are you laughing?" not "who is making you laugh?, try to understand English" I said and the class tried to stifle their laughter,the girl honestly thought she could land me in trouble.

"Sit down both of you"the teacher ordered and I flashed a smile at Bisi who only glared at me.
