After what happened at the junk yard lots of things happened between Gabe and y/n that would probably break anyone. It had all started in the junkyard.

Javi had arrived with trio trying to find his family and brim them to Prescott. That's when everything went hay wire.

*flashback*

As Y/n had smash the walkers skull with a random pipe she found lying around she would check on Mariana in the car once or twice before hiding and waiting for a savior.

'Where the hell is everyone...I hope they made it out' she thought quietly to herself

She was worried for the safety of Kate and Gabe as she didn't know where they were.

She had thought it wouldn't be fair for the world to take Gabe away from her after they had a heartfelt moment together but she had to realize that the world wasn't the same anymore. It was either killed or be killed. Plain. Simple.

As if her silent prayers had been answered she noticed Javi making his way into the junk yard yelling out people's names.

You and Mariana both exchanged a look of gratitude and as you peeked from out of the rock you'd been hiding under and she got out of the car she was in, you both advanced towards the adult with smiles on your faces.

"Javi!" You both shouted and made your ways over to him.

He turned around with a smile on his face as you attacked him with a hug and Mariana did the same.

"I'm so glad to see you two" he said still smiling.

"I hid in the car, remember what you told me to do" Mariana said reminding Javi of when he told her to hide in a car when she's in danger.

"Good! Mariana" he says praising her genuinely.

"And I took out some walker chow on my own" y/n said smirking playfully making Javi chuckle at the teen's humor.

"Like a real badass, y/n" he says giving her a high five.

"Where are the other?" He asked looking around.

"We all got separated we don't know" Mariana said as y/n agreed shrugging her shoulders.

"Okay come on let's go find them" he says making y/n freeze checking her pockets.

"Umm you guys go ahead I need to find something" she says making Javi a little weary of letting her go by herself.

"Y/n I'm not so sure you should be by yourself" he says warning y/n

"Relax,Javi I'll be right back.. you won't even know I'm gone it'll be like 'that'" y/n says snapping her fingers at the 'that' part in her sentence.

Javi had hesitated for a second but soon agreed letting her go.

As y/n looked throw the rubble she had found a hat she was looking for.

"Ah! There it is" she says picking up the rusty, old locket.

It was her family locket it was original rose gold but it was so old that the rust had engulfed the locket that it was a oldish brown color but y/n didn't mind. It was one of the only things she had left of her family.

She put the necklace in her pocket and noticed the gang coming closer to her.

"Just like that huh?" Javi said mimicking y/n's speech to him.

She chuckled shaking her head as she had heard someone shout her name.

"Y/n!" Gabe had yelled out her name running towards her and tackling her into a hug.

She had been startled but hugged back smiling at him.

"Hey Gabe" y/n said softly as he hugged her tight.

"I was so worried I thought you.." he said but couldn't bring himself to say the word

"Well I'm okay" she smiled again hugging him equally as tight.

Kate and Javi had both exchanged a knowing look to eachother before Tripp had decided to intervene.

"We should get going back to Prescott" he said and they all went on there way.

As they walked Mariana had seen her headphones on the ground. She walked towards them picking them up and turned to Javi who had her walkmen in his hand.

She has smiled gleefully.

"Thanks" she had said smiling

It had seemed like everything had happened in slow motion.

All y/n had seen was Mariana blood sputter from her head on her face and clothes.

She saw Mariana's smile fade as her body hit the ground lifeless and heavy.

Y/n was shocked...heartbroken....angry...Mariana was her best friend.. her sister like figure she never had and she just died in the span of 5 seconds in cold blood.

She couldn't hear anything it was like her feet were stuck to the floor with hot glue. She had seen the men with there guns out shooting relentlessly at her family and she was just standing there...dazed and confused.

"Y/n!" Gabe had shouted at her running over and knocking her behind a few objects that formed a shield to the side.

"Y/n are you okay?! Are you hurt?" He had asked her frantically checking her for anything. However she remained silent, she curled up into a ball and leaned her head against the platform. She ignored the shots and just stood there waiting..

*end flashback*

Y/n had her knees together, leaning against the tree trunk, traumatized.

She had lost one of her long, trusted friends from birth by a bullet to the head..a fucking bullet to the head.

From all the crazy shit going on in the world she died by a bullet to the head.

As she thought to herself she noticed Javi coming up to her. She remained silent though.

"Hey Y/n how you holding up?" he asked and she looked up at him with the most saddest look he'd every seen from the girl.

He frowned, his heart breaking from the poor girls genuine expression.

"..." she had said nothing only looking at him.

"I'm sorry y/n I check up on you later" he said making her look back down.

Javi had seen how much grieving the girl had been through and felt for her, however he wasn't the person that could help her.

Since Kate was out of commission for some time he went to the person he knew would be able to help her.

As he made his way over to Gabe he had seen him equally as angry as y/n was sad.

After a short talk with Gabe he had said something that would benefit Javi's suggestion.

"I want to help.. I want to something other than sit there and do nothing" Gabe had said sighing to himself

"Well you can help y/n" Javi had said making Gabe look up almost automatically.

"Y/n?! Where is she? I haven't seen her since...what happened" Gabe had said concerned.

Javi had mentally made note of how much he care for the girl. There was definitely feeling there that the kid was holding in.

"She's broken Gabe, Mariana's death took a toll on her.. you can help her. I know you care about her, now go show her you do" Javi had told him making the teen nod and stand up.

"Okay, I'll go talk to her. Where is she?" He had asked making Javi point in the direction of where she was.

"Hey...um y/n" he said making her look up and frown immediately.

"....hi" she said sadly looking back down

He had sat down next to the girl a little closer than normal.

"I know what happened...your still recovering..but I want you to know...I'm here for you if you need anything" he said as she listened to him.

A single tear went down her cheek at first. Then came the actual tears.

"Why her? Why now?!" She had said her voice cracking as Gabe looked back over seeing her cry which made him almost panic.

"I.. I don't know y/n" Gabe had said pulling her into a hug as she cried silently on his shoulders.

Gabe had pulled Y/n away gently, arm still on her shoulders and he wiped her tears with his other hand.

"Y/n I know you grieving..your sad I understand but we need to get them back..we have to come up with a plan..we need to get them before they get us" he had started to her as she listened.

"Y-y/n I care about you..if you get hurt.. i-I don't know what I would do" he said looking at her as she stopped crying.

Y/n looked him in the eyes and smiled softly at him.

"I...I care about you too Gabe, just promise me one thing" she said as he looked at her.

"What is it?" He asked waiting for her to say.

"Promise me that no matter what happens or anything that we go through....promise me that you'll still be there when I need you and that you'll be by my side" she has said to him.

He smiled gently

"As long as you do the same for me" he had said making y/n smile as well.

"Wouldn't dream of doing anything opposite" she replied as Gabe had pulled her into a hug again and she had a serene smile on her face.

Javi had went to find the pair only to see them hugging each other sweetly. It brought I smile to his face knowing that they'd be there for each other. That they'd make each other happy and make each other feel important in a world full of chaos.

This was one of their moments one that they'd never forget. They had feelings for each other and hadn't said but in a sense they both knew that they always had one another to depend on.

And that's what made them both feel better.
