I woke up the following morning with a major headache. I checked my surroundings and saw that I was in Roxie's dressing room. I checked to see that my pants were still on so at least I can rest easy knowing I didn't knock her up.

Things were a blur last night. I don't even know what happened. I don't think we drank any alcohol. Roxie was lying on top of me while snoring softly. I poked her cheek and she just grumbled. I smiled to myself and kept poking her cheek. She then caught my finger with her mouth and nibbled on it. I blushed and pulled it out. She giggled in her sleep.

She eventually woke up after about 10 minutes. She sat up on my waist and smiled down at me.

Roxie:"Well, you two go on and enjoy your journey."

Hugh:"Thank you Roxie."

"Hit me up whenever you're playing, I'll be sure to drop by."

Roxie:"You better."

She playfully stuck her tongue out at me and I laughed. Hugh and I waved at her before getting on the boat and rode to Castelia City. We reached the ports and got off the boat. Hugh registered himself on my Xtransceiver and went ahead to look for Team Plasma.

I exited the ports and was stopped by a clown who gave me a bike. I quickly hopped on it and used it to ride around the city. I went to the farthest street and went through it. I saw the gym down the street and saw the old man Clyde hanging out there.

"Is the Gym Leader here?"

Clyde:"Sorry pal, but Burgh said there was trouble and took off."

?:"Huh? Burgh vanished again?"

We heard a femined voice and I turned to see a girl not too older than me approaching us. The most interesting trait was her long purple hair.

Clyde:"Oh! Hello Iris. Something came up, and Burgh isn't here right now."

Iris:"Hmm... Isn't Burgh always vanishing, though? He always says he's got artist's block and just goes wandering out of the gym."

She then noticed me.

Iris:"Hi there! Who are you?"

"I'm (Y/n), self-proclaimed Pro Pokemon Trainer."

She giggled and we shook hands.

Iris:"I'm Iris."

"Hey, have you seen Team Plasma grunts running around?"

Iris:"But they disbanded two years ago."

"That's what they said but apparently they're back or something of the sort."

Iris:"Oh dear. Well I'll help you out! Now where would suspicions people go to hide?"

She rubbed her chin and snapped her fingers.

Iris:"That's it! That might be where they are!"

She quickly ran off.

"Good grief. Guess I'm doing this now."

I rode after her and turned the corner. I rode down the street and saw Iris hanging around the Pokemon Center. She waved me over and contined running down to the end of the street.

"How is she so fast?!"

I pedaled faster and she turned the corner. I slowed down and did the same.

Iris:"I think I've found their hideout. From here, you can enter the sewers. Whaddaya think? Seems pretty suspicious, right?"

"Unsanitary is more like it."

She just laughed at my remark. Hugh came running and asked if I've found Team Plasma yet.

"Yeah, their holed up in the sewer."

Hugh:"Those filthy cowards!"

He ran over to the sewers.

Iris:"Yep! The sewers are a perfect place for hiding!"

I groaned and begrudgingly walked into the sewers. Hugh and I walked around together trying to find the grunts.

"I swear if I see the Adolescent Mutant Wartortles I'm running."

Hugh just laughed and stopped when he saw the grunts. We ran and had a double battle with them. We completely mopped the floor with them and they ran away.

Hugh:"We check to make sure there aren't any others hiding!"

?:"That won't be necessary boys."

Hugh:"Could you be the Gym Leader Burgh?"

Burgh:"Yessir! One and the same! I'm Burgh. And there was no one suspicious beyond here!"

Hugh:"Is that...so?"

Hugh:"Yes imdeedy! I'm concerned about Team Plasma as well. More importantly, shall we leave this place? For some reason, the sewer is bugging me."

Hugh:"Huh... Didn't you and the other Gym Leaders fight Team Plasma two years ago?"

Burgh simply nodded. Hugh then looked at me.

Hugh:"Thanks for your help man."

"No problem but next time you need to head into a sewer, call a plumber before you call me."

He just laughed and gave me the HM04 Strength. He then gained a serious look on his face.

Hugh:"I'm going to keep searching for those Plasma punks! I... I'll never forgive Pokemon thieves! No way!"

He quickly ran off.

?:"You there!"

What now?

I turned around to see a guy with an interesting haircut.

?:"That was an excellent demonstration of battling. The way you brought out the power if your Pokemon against an opponent like Team Plasma... Astounding. Simply astounding. Interesting as well. I see..."

He then left.

"Dude, why are all the weirdos in the sewers?"

Burgh:"Who knows? Very well then, I hope to see you at my gym."

"Right..."

He left and I did the same. When I got out, Iris walked up to me.

Iris:"Your friend... He seemed pretty mad. Did everything go okay in the sewers?"

"Yeah and I think he just has some genuine hatred for them. I'm not too sure myself."

Iris:"That's a shame. What are you going to do now?"

"I guess I'll challenge Burgh but I might do some training first. Preferably not in the sewers."

She only giggled and laughed. I hopped on my bike and rode to Route 4. When I made it to the gate, Bianca showed up and gave me a Dowsing Machine. There was a road block however so I couldn't go far. I managed to find a Mystic Water for Ronin to hold. There was a Pokemon Breeder that would always rematch me so I just used her to train. Because of her, I managed to get my Pokemon Lv. 25.

I went back to Castelia City and went to the gym. I used Rubble to burn down any of the bug Pokemon in my way. I finally made it to Burgh.

Burgh:"Good work back there in the sewers. My Bug type Pokemon have been scurrying with excitement about getting to battle you. I'd say my Bug type Pokemon are pretty great! C'mon, let me brag a little! Dwebble's round little eyes are cute! It's resilient and reliable! My ace is Levanny! It's really the best! I think it's so sweet how it makes clothes-"

"Shut up!"

He jumped in surprise.

"You're boring me out of my mind! Let's just battle already!"

Burgh cleared his throat and nodded.

Burgh:"Apologies."

He sent out a Dwebble and I sent out Rubble.

"Alright, use Ember!"

He shot a tiny burst of flame and hit the Pokemon. It hurt it a bit.

Burgh:"Let us shine Dwebble, Rock Polish!"

Dwebble managed to raise its speed.

Burgh:"Rock Blast!"

"Dodge it and use Flame Wheel!"

Rubble jumped over a rock and breathed out some fire and rolled along the ground. He rolled quickly and rammed into Dwebble. He launched Dwebble to a wall and it fainted.

"Heh, let's go!"

He barked happily and Burgh sent out his next Pokemon which was a Karrablast.

"Flame Wheel!"

Karrablast went down easily. He then sent out his ace Levanny.

Burgh:"Aerial Ace!"

Levanny dashed gracefully and attacked Rubble. It dealt some damage but Rubble put it down quickly. He sent out his last Pokemon which was a poor little Shelmet.

"Flame Wheel!"

Rubble attacked but the Shelmet hung on surprisingly. It used Curse to raise its attack and defense but lower its speed.

"One more time!"

He barked and finished off the Shelmet to earn the victory. I left the gym and decided to head to Route 4. Before I could leave, I was stopped by the guy with the terrible haircut. He introduced himself as Colress and asked me to meet him on Route 4 to battle him. He used some weird device to move the Crustle that were blocking my path and we then battled.

He used a Magnemite and a Klink. I beat them easily with Rubble so it was nothing special. He then left.

"Man, what is today?"

I checked my Xtransceiver and saw that today was a Monday. I walked around Route 4 and battled some trainers when I saw something fly overhead. It was a large Flying type Pokemon so I went over and saw where it landed. It landed somewhere behind a crumbling building and the sight of this Pokemon made me gasp.

I smiled and sent out Rubble. Luckily the Braviary was around my team's level being 25. I weakened it with Flame Burst as he used Hone Claws to increase his attack and accuracy. He knocked out Rubble with a Wing Attack. I sent out Stormy next and he used Wing Attack but thanks to Stormy's Static ability, I managed to paralyze it. I tossed a Great Ball at it and managed to catch it first try.

I decided to name him Patriot and knew he would be a great member for my team. I decided to train up and as I did, Anubis evolved into Lucario.

"A-Anubis! You're so strong now!"

Anubis: It's all thanks to you.

"D-did you just t-talk?"

Anubis: Only telepathically. Is that wrong?

"No way! It's so damn cool!"

He smiled and we bumped fists.

"Heh, with you at my side, nothing in this region can stop us."

Anubis: Agreed.

I kept training and soon Stormy evolved too at Lv. 30.

"Oh yeah, it's all coming together."
