Golden beams of sunlight peeked through Aki's window the next morning. One beam was directly on Aki's pillows but the maiden was already out of bed and getting ready for the day. She made sure to stay as silent as possible, not wanting to wake up Dan or Blaze. Aki took a very quick shower just to refresh herself and changed into new clothes. On her way to the small kitchen she had, she peeked inside her bedroom to see a still fast asleep Dan and a partially awake Blaze. The girl laughed quietly and walked to the kitchen. She grabbed a variety of items including ingredients to make dough, 3 different types of berries, and skewers. After a few minutes, she had put a tray in her oven and set a timer.

   "Finally, finished with breakfast." Aki's eyes immediately shot wide open, "I-I hope I made enough for Dan and his Pokémon..." She walked back into her room to grab a book and was tackled by an orange blur. Aki screamed in surprise then laughed, "Blaze you silly Arcanine!" She petted the large Pokémon and laughed when he licked her. Between her laughing and the thumping of Blaze's tail, Dan woke up and looked at the two, who didn't realize that he was awake. Now, Blaze wasn't light and Aki wasn't exactly normal size for a 17-year-old female. Aki was beginning to cough from not having enough air when Dan called Blaze over to him. She sat up, still coughing from the lack of air.

   "Are you ok? I'm sorry about that. Blaze likes affection." Dan asked as he got up and walked over to Aki. He knelt beside her as she nodded.

   "Y-Yea I'm fine." Aki smiled and coughed once more when she jumped from her timer going off. She jumped up and said as she ran out, "Breakfast is ready!"  Dan and Blaze just looked at each other and Dan chuckled lightly as we walked out. Aki was seen taking a hot metal tray out of her oven and setting it on her counter then blowing on her hands. She murmured to herself, not noticing Dan, "That hurt... I should really get Mrs. Leavanny to make me some towels..." 

   "What was that? I couldn't hear you." Aki jumped when she heard a masculine voice; Dan had heard what she had said and had seen her burn herself. 

   "S-Sorry I just don't have any towels..." Aki hid her hands and looked up at Dan. She smiled, "I made baked berries and pastries! I hope I made enough for you and your Pokémon..." Aki's smile faded slightly as she looked at Blaze. "They could always have some of my food. I don't mind!" Dan looked up and down at Aki. She wasn't the normal size for a girl her age. She was very underweight. 

   "Um, it'll be alright. It looks like you need your food." Dan smiled slightly and patted the short girl's head, making her pout slightly. Dan chuckled once again and walked over to the counter. Aki gave the trainer a perplexed look then followed him. 

   "Go ahead and get yours. It is ladies first." Aki nodded, slightly embarrassed by his comment. She took 3 berries and a pastry then sat down, waiting for Dan to start eating. Dan gave his Pokémon their share then got his. He sat down across from Aki and began to eat; Aki began to eat after Dan did, finishing her smaller portion before Dan finished his. He looked at her and put another berry on her plate. She looked at him with a surprised yet confused face.

   "You need to eat more. It's alright." Aki didn't feel like arguing someone that was almost twice her height so she just ate it. Afterward, she looked at him.

  "What're you doing today? Maybe we could go to the lake near here, i-if that's alright with you." At this point, it was fairly easy to see how shy she was.

   "Hehe that's fine with me but I can't stay in for too long." Dan stood up as Aki picked up the dishes. 

   "Do you have any other Pokémon besides Blaze?" 

   Dan nodded, "Of course. I have Ace the Pidgeotto, Blue the Poliwrath, and a MewTwo." Aki's face lit up as she turned to him.

   "Could I help take care of them? Please?~" She begged. Dan laughed and nodded as he started to walk out the door.
