The snack pack enter Toriel's house, it was a nice, warm, and cozy home.
"Do you smell that?" Said Toriel, "It is cinnamon-butterscotch pie! I thought we might celebrate your arrivals."
"Wow!" Said Poppy, "Thanks!"
"You will all have a nice time living down here." Said Toriel, "I have another surprise for you all."
She takes then down a small hallway with pictures on the walls and a few rooms with sign saying "Room under renovations" and they arrived to one of the rooms.
"I hope you all like your room" she says and leaves to the kitchen.
The snack pack enter the room and it was cleaned and had a human sized bed.
"Let's rest for a little bit." Suggested Branch and everyone else agreed.
While resting on the bed, Poppy had a strange dream about a strange voice.
"Chara!" Said the voice, "Wake up, Chara! You must stay determined! You are the fate of Humans, Trolls, and Monsters!"
Poppy was woken up by Guy Diamond.
"Poppy, wake up!" He said, "Toriel left us pie!"
"Oh okay." Said Poppy.
"Is there something wrong Poppy?" Branch asked.
"I had this weird dream", she began, "about someone named Chara and that a mysterious voice told them that they were the fate of Humans, Trolls, and Monsters. And I fell that there is something familiar with that."
"This may sound weird", said Branch, "but I think you are having deja vu."
"We are going to have to leave the ruins to figure out what's going on and to find a way out of the underground!" Suggested Poppy.
Everyone agreed and got out of the room to find Toriel. They found her in the living room sitting on a chair next to a bookshelf and she was reading a book. Toriel noticed the snack pack approaching to her.
"Oh, hello little ones." she said, "What can I do for you?"
"Well," began Poppy, "we were wondering if you know the exit to the ruins?"
Toriel's eyes widened. She tried to change the subject.
"Uhh... Why don't we talk about the books I have?" She suggested "I have prepared a curriculum for your education. This may sound strange, but I always wanted to become a teacher."
"Where's the exit of the Ruins?" Asked Branch.
Toriel tired to change the subject again.
"Hear this," she said, "Did you know that snail have a chainsaw-like tongue called a radula? Interesting, isn't it?"
"Where's the exit?" Asked Branch again, "You know what we're talking about."
Toriel closed her book, putted in the shelf, and got up from her chair.
"... I have to do something." She said "Stay here."
She went downstairs to the basement of her house.
"Something is not right." Said Branch.
"Let's follow her!" Said Poppy and everyone agreed.
The snack pack followed Toriel downstairs. Toriel stopped when she sensed their presence.
"You all wish to know how to go home?" She asked with a serious look.
"Yes we do!" Said Biggie.
"Ahead of us," Began Toriel, "lies the exit of the Ruins. A one-way exit to the rest of the underground. I am going to destroy it. No one will ever be able to leave again. Now, be good trolls and go upstairs."
"No, Toriel!" Said Poppy, "You don't have to do it!"
"Everyone that falls down here, meets the same fate." Explained Toriel, "I have seen it again and again. They come, they leave, they die. If you all leave, they...Asgore will kill you all and take your souls. I am only trying to protect you. Do you understand? Go to your room."
Toriel continued to the door and the snack pack still followed her, then they all stopped again.
"Do not try to stop me." Demanded Toriel, "This is your final warning."
"Poppy" said Branch, "Are you sure about this?"
"What other choice do we have?" Said Poppy, "This is our only way of getting out of here."
The snack pack embraced on what would happen next and continued to follow Toriel. They arrived at a large door and saw Toriel.
"You all want to leave so badly?" Asked Toriel, "Hmph. You are all just like the others. There is only one solution to this. Prove yourselves... Prove to me that you are all strong enough to survive."
She summoned fire form her hands and started to attack the snack pack.
"Toriel! Please!" Cried Poppy, "Don't do this!"
Toriel looks through them as she prepares for a magical attack.
"Fight me or run away!" She yelled as she continues to attack them.
"We won't fight you!" Yelled Satin.
"We just want to leave!" Continued Chenille.
"What are you proving this way?" Asked Toriel, "I'm only trying to protect you all! Go away!"
"But this is not the solution!" Yelled Biggie.
"We just want to go home." Said Poppy.
Toriel stopped using her fire powers.
"I know you all want to go home," she said, "but... I promise to take good care of you all here."
"Are you sure about that?" Asked Branch, "You tried to do the same thing with the others, but failed."
"Why are you making this so difficult?" She asked as she frowned, "Ha ha... Pathetic, is it not? I cannot save even a single child."
She then realizes that they really wanted to leave.
"I understand. The Ruins are very small once you get used to them. It would not be right for you all to grow up in a place like this. My expectations... My loneliness.... My fear... For you all, little ones, I will put them aside."
She opened the door for them and said to them one last thing.
"If you all want to leave the ruins, I will not stop you. However, when you leave... Please do not come back. I hope you all understand."
The snack pack gave Toriel a hug and she hugged back. She turns around to them for the last time.
"Goodbye, little ones." She said and leaves back to her home.
"I'm going to miss her." Said Copper as he tried not to cry.
"It's okay," said Smidge as she comforts Cooper, "We will all miss her."
As the snack pack walked down a pathway to the rest of the underground, they encountered someone they hoped to never see, Flowey!
"Oh, you again!" Growled Branch.
"What do you want?" Said Poppy with anger.
"Clever. Very clever." Began Flowey, "You all think that you're really smart, don't you?"
"What do you mean by that?!" Demanded Branch.
"So," continued Flowey, "you were all able to play by your own rules. You spared the life of a single person." He laughs with a twisted voice. "I bet you all feel really great. But what will you do if you meet a relentless killer? You'll all die and die and die. Until you tire of trying. What will you do then? Will you kill out of frustration? Or will you give up entirely in this world and let me inherit the power to control it?" His face started to get sadistic and his voice got deeper. "I am the prince of this world's future. Don't worry, my little monarchs, my plan isn't regicide. This is so much interesting to watch." He laughs as he disappears to the ground.
"Don't listen to him guys!" Encouraged Poppy.
"Yeah!" Agreed Guy Diamond, "He doesn't know that many creatures can be friendly!"
They all went through the door, filling them with... Determination!
