Chapter Thirteen

"You want to do what?" Thomas asked, taken aback by Prince's request.

"No way." I said. "Remember last time?"

We were all staring at Prince in shock. All five of us were there, and Prince had just suggested something crazy.

He wants to go back to another Disney movie.

Is he stupid?

He of all people should not be the one wanting to go back.

He could've been in that coma forever!

"We'll go to a different movie this time. Something a little more recent, but not too recent." Prince said. "Not Moana, maybe not even Frozen. Though, don't get me wrong, those are both very good movies. I was thinking more... Tangled."

"Tangled?" I asked. "Why Tangled?"

Prince didn't answer. He just started singing "I Have A Dream" from Tangled. I sighed and rolled my eyes.

"Maybe we should give it a chance." Morality said. "I mean, the only reason it went bad last time was because Roman interfered with the plot. If he promises not to interfere with the plot this time, it'll be okay."

"Last time Prince did something drastic to interfere with the plot, but it doesn't always have to be something drastic." Logic said. "There's a concept called the butterfly effect. The idea is as follows: Something small could trigger something else, which eventually leads to a major change. We could do something minor and end up changing the whole story."

"What if you go flower picking and end up picking the flower that gives Rapunzel her powers?" I said. "That kind of thing."

"I won't do that. Please. I know the story well enough to recognize the flower that gives her powers." Prince said.

I looked from Logic to Morality to Prince. "We're split fifty-fifty. Morality and Prince for, and Logic and me against." I looked at Thomas. "You're the tie-breaker."

Thomas bit his lip. "Well... I am hesitant to go into another Disney movie after what happened last time. And Logic does make a good point, but at the same time..." Thomas looked at Prince. "You really want to, huh?"

Prince nodded. "C'mon, please, Thomas? I always encourage you to chase your dreams! I love Disney and I would love to be in another movie. Please?"

"Alright, fine." Thomas said.

"No fair! You're totally showing favoritism!" I said.

"I am not showing favoritis—" Thomas started.

"No, no, I get it. I do. You're obviously going to be more partial to the aspects of your personality that help you out as opposed to bringing you down, but c'mon! This is for Prince! You know what happened to him last time, do you honestly want a similar thing to happen to him again? Who knows what kind of trouble he could get himself into, and what if this time we're not so lucky? What if Prince gets himself into trouble, and something permanent happens?" I was almost yelling now. "Don't you care?"

"Anxiety, don't you think you're going a little too far?" Morality asked.

Thomas looked stunned. He couldn't bring himself to speak.

"Anxiety..." Prince muttered.

"If only you had used arguments like this during the debate." Logic muttered.

"Not the time, Logan!" I snapped.

"Right. Sorry." Logic said.

A moment passed where no one talked, and I stared at the floor.

"I do care." Thomas said, breaking the silence. "That's where you're wrong. I care about Prince, I care about Logic, I care about Morality, and I care about you. I don't play favorites, and I'm sorry it came across like that. And for the record, Anxiety... You do help me. You help me a lot. Whenever I make a fool out of myself in public, you make sure it doesn't happen again. You make sure I remember that time, not to torture me but to make sure I've learned and it doesn't happen again. You give me a sense of realism and you make sure I don't go off the deep end in my optimism. Yes, granted, you do go overboard sometimes. But the other three have gone overboard plenty of times themselves. Remember when Logic got me to dress up in a suit?"

"Yeah, sorry about that, Thomas." Logic said sheepishly.

I didn't look at anything or anyone. I just stared at the floor of Thomas's apartment.

"I realize that I've acted closer to Prince, Morality, and Logic than I have with you, and I'm sorry. That's my fault, and not yours. And I'm willing to try to correct that." Thomas said.

"Thanks, Thomas." I said.

"You're welcome." Thomas said.

"So are we still going to Tangled?" Morality asked.

Thomas looked at me. "Uh...." He hesitated. "Yes. I still think we should go."

"Why?" I asked.

"Because it would be a fun experience. As long as Prince promises not to wander off and do his own thing, and we're careful not to mess with the plot... I still don't see the harm in it." Thomas said. "Yes, what happened last time was bad. But that's over now and it can be prevented this time."

"Everyone deserves a second chance." Morality said.

I sighed. "Ugh. Fine. But, Prince, if you get yourself into any trouble whatsoever, I will kill you myself."

"Says the person who saved me the last time I got into trouble." Prince said.

"Shut up." I mumbled.

"Are we ready to leave?" Thomas asked.

"You know what we should do? We should get one of those leashes that parents use with their toddlers to make sure they don't wander off. Just attach that to Prince." I said.

"Very funny, Anxiety." Prince replied dryly.

"Yeah, let's go." Thomas said.

Thomas snapped his fingers and teleported us to the middle of a kingdom, unmistakably the one that belonged to Rapunzel's parents.

There was a mural depicting the king and queen with their beautiful baby girl, and people were leaving things like flowers under it, saying it was "for the lost princess".

"That's strange." Prince said. "We weren't teleported to the beginning of the movie. Rapunzel has already been born and kidnapped at this point in the timeline, and the movie starts before Rapunzel is even born."

"I wonder how far we are in the timeline." Morality said.

"Only one way to find out." Prince said.

"Whatever you're planning, I have a feeling it's something I need to say no to." I said.

"Relax. I was just going to explore. Completely harmless." Prince said. "We'll pretend we're just another group of people who live in the kingdom."

"I can't see how you could go wrong with that." Morality said.

"Oh, there's a multitude of ways it could go wrong, but let's not focus on the negative." Logic said.

"Gee, thanks, Logic. That sure made us feel better." I replied sarcastically.

"You know, Hot Topic," Prince smiled at me. "It's a little cute how you're worried for me."

"Only because you've given me a reason to worry about you." I said. "Don't make any arbitrary decisions this time, and we'll be fine."

We walked around, simply enjoying the scenery. The kingdom was beautiful. The people were friendly. Morality talked to a couple of little girls braiding hair. Logic joined him.

"Prince," I said. "Those little girls Morality's talking to, they're the ones who braid Rapunzel's hair, aren't they?"

Prince nodded. "Yeah, those are the same girls."

"They look to be about the same age as they were when they were shown in the movie, so Rapunzel's approximately 18 at this point in the timeline." I said.

"Way to be observant, Anxiety." Prince smiled. "Good job."

"I'm just using common sense. It's not that hard." I said. "You should try it sometime."

"Gee, thanks." Prince said.

Logic came up to us. "As amazingly well done as that observation was, you could have just deduced that information by noticing Flynn Rider right there." Logic pointed to a place far behind us, where Flynn Rider was escaping with the tiara, as he was shown doing early on in the movie.

"Oh." I said flatly.

"Well, it was a good observation anyways." Prince sighed.

"I'm surprised at how no one seems to notice Flynn Rider escaping," Thomas said.

"It's a Disney movie. It wasn't made to be realistic." I said.

Prince looked from me, to Logic, to Thomas, to Morality, who had joined us once again as well. "Quick question... Would it interfere with the plot if we were to follow Flynn Rider, perhaps, to Rapunzel's tower?"

"It would interfere if they noticed us." Logic said.

"Then we'll be super careful." Prince said. "C'mon, please? We're in a Disney movie, we might as well experience it!"

"Last time you experienced a Disney mov—" I started to say, but Prince cut me off.

"I thought we agreed we weren't focusing on last time." Prince said.

I sighed. "Fine. Second chance, right. But don't mess it up."

"Got it." Prince said.

He took off after Flynn Rider.

"And wait for us!" Thomas shouted.
