That Hikaru attacked Mari, Jacky and Jayden and sealed their memories of him was something no one really expected. Even less, anyone expected him to be a stuttering, little cinnamon roll in real.

#4 Reina and Masao's betrayal

Reina and Masao tricking Mari and Jacky in Rebel Arc came out of the blue and totally unexpected.

#3 Keon's sacrifice

Another thing you didn't see coming was the situation when Keon threw himself in front of the others, letting himself get hit by Necrozma's attack in order to enable the others to save Zain. Equally surprising was Keon's return some time later.

#2 Observatory assault

Ultra Beasts attacking the observatory just... came outta nowhere- just like the policemen that showed up to get their hands on Taji. That came hella unexpected.

#1 Destruction of the Ruins of Abundance

Who didn't have a WTF face when Kalani showed up outta nowhere, destroyed the ruins of abundance and abducted the Fallers, officially revealing that he's Eclipse, the greatest enemy the SoT cast EVER faced? This twist just... came outta nowhere and freaking NOBODY saw that coming. Not even Jacky.
