I am sitting at a bonfire.
With a drink in my hand, and friends all around. Right now everyone is laughing loudly and yelling happily, why is it that all I can hear are the words you said to me in what felt like years ago?

"I love you"

It rings in my head like the annoying song on the radio. Over and over again, I can't take it so I decide to go get a marshmallow to roast.

"How are you liking the bonfire?" A friend asks in the distance

"Oh it's really nice, kind of cold though" I say

"Wishing you had someone to cuddle with?" She says

I laugh "I guess!"

Tears almost start to form and I swallow the lump in my throat. I run back to the Fire to start roasting the marshmallow. I stare into the fire, and I think about your bright red hair. You hated it and I loved it.

I hurry and eat the marshmallow and run into the front yard. I stare up into the stars and remember one of our first dates.

"Oh Orions belt is out!" You said,
"Its my favorite constellation!". "Teach me about the stars" I said. You stammered on for what felt like forever. All I thought about is how your eyes glimmer just like them. You were my favorite star.

Why is it that I can't escape you?
