Dress Code

So our school got a new dress code

Yuck

And it has the "no show zone"

Which you can't show

And I was like: hahahaha wow this is sexist

Because something that would cover the zone for someone like me, wouldn't work for some of my friends

So they're essentially putting more work on something that literally doesn't even matter

So what if my tank top straps aren't one inch

It's not like a teacher is going to come up to me and measure me to make sure I'm following dress code

It is literally 85 degrees Fahrenheit out here

I'm going to melt

Ugh

As my teacher said

It's a classic "blaming the victim for the crime"

Which it is

Someone shouldn't have to conform to a dress code, especially if the code isn't trying to "prevent" anything in the first place

I can understand banning nudity, obscene language, and illegal actions

But that's a given

A person doesn't change when they put on a shirt with a low cut

Or with thin straps on their tank top

It's not only that, but my principal understands that

So this super cool dude raised his hand at the assembly

And said:

This dress code is extremely sexist and I feel that this doesn't apply to males

Shouldn't we be making more rules to stop sexual harassment, rather then putting more effort on the victim to try and prevent the crime?

I have never seen a male break any part of this dress code, and I feel that that gives males an edge in education

(I made up a ton of stuff, but that point is, he stood up for females)

The principal said something like: yeah I know that this is sexist, but I'm a female and I'm okay with it, so all other females must be okay with it too

I find it kinda stupid that just because she thinks it's okay, automatically it's okay for all the girls wth different body types

I had a qualifying meet today

Yay?

It started 1 hour late

Huzzah

Then I panicked over what I had to run because they changed it

So then I sat in the sun for 20 minutes because they called the 200 meter dash too early

AND THEN THEY CALLED THE 400 METER DASH EVEN THOUGH WE LIKE

HADNT EVEN STARTED THE 200

So then I ran the 200

And I won my heat

But my heat was slow af

So I dabbed

And this one guy was like: yeah she gon win

Fun

Then I did shotput

And I sucked

I got around a 20

However they measure this

I wouldn't know lol

Then I ran the Medly

Which we thought we were gonna get dead last in

But then I started

We had a lead

Eliz_Ono got passed and was in 3rd, but because she kept behind the other people

hopelessromantic393 managed to keep pace with someone she knew and passed them

Then NerdyPoptart ran and we placed 3rd

Hopefully we'll move on

But NerdyPoptart can't run at the championships if we do

Oh yeah another BS thing that happened

So we're not aloud to cheer on our team mates if we run with them

Which is BS

And we're not aloud to get too close

Which I understand

BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD US
