Akasaka-san flung open the door with a flourish. The inside was only slightly less pink than the outside.

"Welcome to Cafe Mew Mew!" He announced. I took a small notepad and pen out of my pocket.

'Still to much pink,' I wrote, showing it to Dark. She snickered in agreement. Akasaka-san led us over to one of the tables. "So, what do you want to know?"

"What do you think?" Akasaka-san shifted in his seat.

"Well, first, I should reintroduce myself. Kero Akasaka. Nice to meet you."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'm Dark Yuro, and this is my friend Rose Thorn. Now what was that thing and what did you do to us?" Dark demanded. Akasaka-san smiled.

"Well--"

"That thing was a chimera animal." Someone from the back of the room said. Standing in a doorway was a boy, who, I would soon find, was the most annoying person in the world. He had blonde hair and purple eyes. Eh, I just fought a monster hedgehog, so I've seen weirder. He wore a red shirt with a leather vest over it, jeans, and sneakers.

"Ah, Shintaru. There you are!" Akasaka-san greeted him. 'Shintaru' frowned.

"Kero, why are you telling them this?" He asked. I wrote something down and Dark read it out.

"Rose says, 'If I remember correctly, you're the one who told us what it was.'" Shintaru's scowl deepened.

"I'm sure 'Rose' can speak for herself."

I scribbled something else down.

"'If I could, why would I be writing this stuff?'"

"Because you were dared or something." Shintaru said haughtily. Now it was my turn to scowl.

"'Or because I'm mute from past experiences I don't remember. Now shut up baka, and let Akasaka-san explain.'" I smirked and accepted Dark's high-five. Shintaru huffed and walked over to our table, sitting down. Akasaka-san chuckled nervously.

"W-well, this is Shintaru Shirogane. Shintaru, this is Dark Yuro-" Shirogane-baka snickered and Dark glared at him. Wouldn't want to be in his shoes... "-And Rose Thorn. The new Mews."

I made a time out sign with my hands, then pointed at Dark, who knows me well enough to know what to say.

"The new whats-its?" She asked. The guys looked at me. I felt my face heating up, but I smirked anyway.

"MEWS." Shirogane-baka enunciates. I started to write, but stopped abruptly.

'GIVE ME YOUR FREAKING #s!' I write before shoving the notebook at Akasaka-san. He looked at me in a confused way, so I took out my phone and slid it over to him. He makes a "OH!" face and starts putting his and Shirogane-baka's numbers in. I shook my head, then realized people were talking.

"BAKA!"

"You're the baka!"

"WILL YOU JUST TELL US?!"

'Tell what?' I tried to pass the notebook to Dark but she pushed it away.

"Not now, Rose!" She scolded, not even looking at me. I frowned, then hit her over the head. "What was that for?!"

I shove the notebook at her again. She read it quickly and sighed.

"Way to kill an argument, Ro. I was asking this bas-- baka what they did to us, but he won't tell."

At this we both glared at him, which is pretty horrifying. My 'YOU-FRICKIN-BAKA-TELL-US' glare, and Dark's 'YOU-ARE-A-AHOLE' glare. I'm pretty sure we scarred him for life.

"Here you are Rose." Akasaka-san said, giving me my phone back. Was he aware there was a shouting match, or...? Anyway, I started a group chat with everyone so I could actually talk.

'TELL US.' I 'said'.

"Yeah, frickin tell us!" Dark demanded. Shirogane-baka's eye twitched and Akasaka-san just looked awkward.

'Tell us or I'll slit your throat.'

Akasaka-san looked horrified, but Shirogane-baka obviously didn't believe me. I pulled out one of my daggers and gave him a blank look.

He believed me.

"Fine!" He groaned. Really? Me threatening you with a knife is the only way to get you to talk? That's pathetic. "All we did was infuse your DNA with the DNA of another animal." He said casually. 

I growled.

'Which ones?'

"The, uh, Swift Fox for Rose and the Coral Snake for Dark."

'Strangely appropriate.'  Dark glared at me. 'So, now what?'

"Now," Shirogane-baka said, pointing at us, "You get to work here and fight aliens."

Dark and I looked at each other. Then we both tackled him to the ground.

"HECK NO!!"
