Kill Me

"There has to be an explanation for this," Keith comforted.

"Like what? Like that I could be-" You didn't finish your sentence, why would you? You sounded like a broken record at this point. You could keep telling everyone that you weren't galra, but, at the same time, maybe, you too were starting to believe it. You didn't want it to be true, you wished for anything that it wasn't true, but, it wasn't in your hands anymore, you never had a choice in the matter, why would that change now?

"We need to tell Allura," Keith recommended. Just her name sent shivers down your spine.

"Why would we do something like that?" You asked as you picked yourself off of the floor.

"Because, maybe she knows something we can do," he offered. He stood up, beginning to hold your forearms.

"Or maybe that's the perfect way to get me kicked out of the castle," you huffed. You violently pulled out of his grip which he looked a bit taken back by.

"She would never do that," he consoled.

"You don't know that," you argued. "We haven't known her long, we don't know what she's capable of."

"We have to trust that she'll be able to help you without judgement," he spoke.

"Keith, this castle, these lions, you, they led me to my best chance at a family in years, I don't think I'm ready to give that up just yet," you smiled as you held his face in your palms. You showed a faint smirk.

"So," a voice spoke. You looked over to the doorway to see Lance leaning away from the doorway. You were slightly confused, you thought everyone was still sleeping. "Pidge. Hunk. Me. We were never really your family, we were never really enough for you? Is that it?"

"Lance," you gasped.

"Forget it (Y/N)," he groaned, leaving the room. He left you speechless. He had been with you for years at this point, each one of them had, and now you had just ran their hearts through the mud.

"Keith-" he grasped your shoulder.

"Go, you're good," he showed a toothy grin. You grinned before running after Lance.

"Lance!" you yelled. He'd made his way to the hall that held all the paladin's rooms. He continued walking, without taking notice of your existence."Lance, please."

"Don't Lance please me," he barked as he turned in your direction.

"Let me explain," you pleaded as you ran up to him.

"There's nothing to be explained, you've never cared for us in the way we care for you," Lance huffed.

"That's not it at all," you spoke.

"Then, what did you mean," he sighed. He clearly was annoyed by your urge to fix what you said.

"I had a quote-on-quote family, which didn't have a lot of pros," you started.

"Quote-on-quote family? Like, your mom and dad?" He asked.

"More like, no mom, no dad, and a brother," you shrugged. "My parents died when I was young, my brother and I bounced around the foster system for a few years. When my brother was of age, we moved into a home where we could be our own family. He joined The Garrison, and a few years later, then, he went into space," you paused. "For the last time."

"I'm sorry," the look on his face painted the picture of sadness and regret.

"Don't be. Although I lost my family, they somehow led me to a new one, one that would stick with me through whatever," he stepped closer to you. "I'm sorry for saying what I said to Keith, it was wrong of me to say that I had no family, when you three have been sitting right in front of me." He pulled you into an embrace.

"Thank you, for telling me," he spoke as he laid his chin on the top of your head. "But, I don't want to be your family."

"What?" You asked as you stepped back.

"I don't want to be your family, I want to be more," he placed his hand on your chin, pulling you towards him.

"Lance," you whispered.

"Don't talk, just, think about it," he whispered. You stared at each other before he placed his lips on yours. It didn't fully set in before you pulled yourself back.

"Lance, I-" you stared at him in shock of your actions. You didn't know what to think, so you ran to your room. You sat against the door, racked with guilt. You didn't like Lance, you liked Keith, right? You couldn't face Keith like this, he would never forgive you, and with everything he's done for you, he wouldn't be able to look at you. You continued to stare at the wall for a while, curled against the wall until you heard a knock at the door. You wrapped your arms around your knees when you'd realized the you had multiple purple blotches along both of your arms.

"(Y/N), it's Pidge, you up?" He asked as he continued knocking.

"Yeah," you responded.

"Good, Allura is having us practice in the training deck right now, you going to join?" He asked. You were slightly hesitant to answer.

"Yeah, I'll be over in a little bit, don't wait up," you answered.

"Okay, we'll be training, so I would hurry up," he stated before you heard him walking away.

You were debating whether you were going to even walk outside the door, when you looked at the dresser that positioned itself against the wall, when suddenly, you had an idea. You grabbed a bag out of the closet, which you assumed was to hold dirty clothes or trash, and stuffed what little bags you had inside of it.

You quietly tiptoed outside of your door, checking through every hall as you made your way to the lions and the cruisers.

"Hey girl," you smiled at your lion as you saw the white beauty sitting next to the five other mechanical beauties. "Looks like I'll be leaving for a while, don't know if I'll come back, but, I hope I do," you rubbed its giant paw, before loading your bag into a cruiser.

You took one final look at the lions, before blasting off into a galaxy that held stories you didn't even hold the first parts of.
