❃The Past And Future❃

just what i imagined room 237 would look like idk. and some extra fluffy end-credits-type-stuff uwu @ Riggilou. Also, I'm going to post this now because it's cute alright ! I'll try and work on updating the rest, I have the last two chapters done but there's two in the middle I haven't even started yet. Thanks anyway !! :]

Living Room:
Sometimes (Y/n) still falls asleep on the couch, but upon waking she never fails to find a blanket on top of her. When (Y/n) stays at a friend's house in January 1968, she came back early in the morning to see Dallas asleep on the couch, the same blanket wrapped around him. Cute, right? Yeah.

Kitchen and Dining Room with Balcony:
Dally claims to have quit smoking, but if he's particularly stressed he'll sit out on the balcony for a quick one. He taped a pack of Marlboros under the table outside. However, the kitchen has a clear view of the window wall that opens to the balcony, and (Y/n) spends a lot of her free time baking. She wants him to quit, but understands the battle that is addiction well, so she doesn't harangue him for it. Besides connections between cigarettes and cancer haven't truly been proven yet,,,,, like almost half of all adults that year smoked so whoops.

Bedroom with Wall Curtain:
The television is to the wall after dally moves in. (Y/n) has a habit of keeping the curtain divider all the way back 'cause of her cousin. Dally uses her cousin's old bed, and always forgets to water the plants on that side of the room. In February, they decide to move their beds together. In May they buy a new bed. Queen size. Not brand new to the market, but released a few years prior. Oh, and you can bet every last penny that Dally is the little spoon cause that's just facts, boo.

Bathroom:
Dally won't stop using (Y/n)'s Londondderry Cream Rinse, as it "makes his hair softer than a puppy's." Dally always hears (Y/n) sing in the shower, and gets her a small radio and clock for the bathroom for Christmas 1967. As a novelty gift for his birthday, August 9th 1968, (Y/n) buys Dallas the same brand of conditioner she's been using for the past year. And he still uses hers.

That One Christmas Chapter:
It's the other side of the living room, except for the window/door, which should be a normal apartment door instead, cause the balcony's connected to the kitchen.

Family Stuff:
(Y/n)'s cousin, and why the two of them left home is a very sensitive topic for her. It takes a while for her to open up the the boys, even Dally. Yet after about a year of her avoiding it, she lets them know what happened.

(Y/n) was forced to leave home after a rough argument with her parents. They refused to let her live in their household after she couldn't keep her grades up in school. The girl came from a long line of successful male professors, and they wanted her, even forced her on the path to being the family's first female professor. That could have been alright, but (Y/n) didn't want that. And that was too bad. She was kicked out to fend for herself. The only person that went with her was her cousin, Daisy.

Daisy was young, free spirited, and most importantly, (Y/n)'s only friend. Somehow they ended up in Tulsa, and rented an apartment with what money they had, scraps from old piggy banks and old jobs.

When the two were still living together, her cousin Daisy started dating this older guy. (Y/n) would have none of it but didn't reprimand her younger cousin, as she hated arguing with her.

After a few weeks, Daisy's boyfriend introduced her to drugs. She had become addicted to a number of over-the-counter medications, and was getting out of control. Yelling, picking fights, the whole lot of it. (Y/n) was forced to be a parent to her, and Daisy hated her for it.

She felt as though she was being torn apart and it was all his fault. He did this to Daisy, and to her. After a particularly severe argument, Daisy went to her room and put some of her things in an old suitcase, leaving as soon as her older cousin fell asleep.

When the girl awoke the next morning, she was utterly heartbroken. They used to be the two against their family, against the world. Now, (Y/n) was alone, left to deal with her problems and memories.

Of course, she made friends with the people of the town, but it wouldn't be the same. After all, her own home was just a sick reminder. Yet that all changed when she met Dally, and that's the important thing.

Later On:
They'd been going steady since they'd met, practically. After Sylvia, he hadn't really been the same. He knew he'd never want that to happen to him or anybody he knew, including (Y/n). So once they started seriously dating, he stayed true. So did she.

The two moved to a house across the street from the Curtis' place on June 3rd, 1969. It was a glorified shed when they bought it, but they saved enough money to fix it up. One major upside was that the kitchen and the dining room was enormous. Plenty of extra space to bake and even more to dance. On Mondays and Wednesdays, Johnny and Two-Bit come over to learn how to bake desserts with (Y/n). On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sodapop and Ponyboy come over to learn how to dance.

It had been two years of living together, and dating for almost as long. After a long night of dancing at Cain's, Dallas proposes on November 18th, 1969, the day they met. She accepts.

They get married on March 20th, 1971. Johnny is best man, and the rest of the gang dressed up as bridesmaids along with two of (Y/n)'s close friends. The girl doesn't invite her family, as they aren't on speaking terms, which is quite the understatement. She always felt an outsider to them.

But to her, it's alright that way. Dally didn't invite his folks either. Her friends are her family now. As long as they have each other, they'll be just fine.

The two adopt a dog a week later. An unnamed mutt from the pound. Nobody would've adopted the dirt-covered thing. She was named Redford, since they found her tawny fur under the matted dirt after a good washing. Nobody knew how old Redford was, but she was an energetic bundle of love.

Dallas would take Redford on walks with (Y/n) in the evening. They'd go to the nearest park, just to get a look at the open sky. Hazy purples would surround the setting sun, completing the almost overwhelmingly beautiful scene.

The perfect view. The perfect dog. The perfect wife. The perfect life.

They had a home. And they were going to be okay.

yoinks a doinks scoob,,, was that okay??? anyways here's some cute pictures of a dog i found online that "looks" like Redford. :]
