Your daily dose of angst
The picture is a drawing of Ari [made by me :-)]
"Ari! It's time to go to school," Celeste was shaking me awake, looking slightly worried. "God I hope I'm not late!" She said to herself.
"Don't you mean hell?" I said. What, it's true.
She shook her head, "Whether it's hell or not, I don't want the school to kick you out. If that's even possible." I sat up and went towards the kitchen. "Oh yeah, thanks for the breakfast! I'd love to stay, but I'm in a hurry. I'll pick up something at the diner for dinner."
I stopped eating , looked at the clock, and glanced back towards Celeste. "But your shift at the library doesn't start until 9:45,"
"I quit my job at the library, the shift at the diner is longer, but it pays more! We might be able to afford a renovation for the house!" Celeste kept on talking but, I wasn't listening.
"Wait, so where will I go after school? How long is the shift? Who's going to drive me home?!"
"You can stay at the diner if you want to, and it's not that much longer, just a couple hours extra. Ok? And I guess you'll just have to ride the bus" She shrugged, "I'm sorry but I really need this money, I promise to make it up to you," She put a hand on my shoulder.
I smacked it off.
"No you don't. You don't care, you just want go get drunk with your friends!" She backed away. I really didn't want to be saying these things. But I did.
"I-I-I'm... I have to go." Celeste left without another word. Whatever.
I took a deep breath, and went out the door
