When I woke up, I barely had any motivation to move. It was so peaceful and quiet, the complete opposite of Celeste's friends. I sat up and looked at the clock.It said 4 o'clock. I looked into my mom's bedroom, and saw it was empty. 

My heart sunk when I realized that my mother wasn't home yet. Horrible thoughts crossed my mind while I was wondering what could have gone wrong when I heard a creak from the living room. I peeked into the room to see Celeste, thankfully alone, stumbling towards the couch, thankfully alone. When she finally reached the couch, she collapsed onto it with a big thud. I stared at her, and realized that I never thought of her as my mother. She was always like a big sister to me, sneaking alcohol to me or watching rated-R movies late at night, it was always like I was the mom. Reminding her to go to bed early or making her breakfast. It was kinda cruel irony. Well hey, at least this is good practice for hell children of my own. I chuckled to my self covered Celeste with a blanket. As quietly as I could, I went to the kitchen and got out the bacon and eggs. 

Cooking reminded me of Cindy. She was probably the only friend of my mom's that I liked. Cindy  babysat me when Celeste was out partying. She was the one that taught me how to cook and she introduced me to the wonderful world of magic. She was more like a mom than mom. Sometimes I wish she was my mom. I know, I know. That was a harsh thing to say but, it's true. For some reason, I saw Cindy less and less. The last time I saw her, she gave me her number so we could keep in touch. Later that night, Celeste and Cindy fought, and Cindy left forever. On some really bad nights, I would call Cindy. I really miss her.

I smelled smoke. "Sh!t sh!t sh!t!" The eggs were burnt and smoke filled the kitchen. Maybe this is why we have a fire extinguisher in the closet. I put the eggs and bacon on a plate, but it was only 4:15, so I decided to get some rest. I grabbed a blanket and laid down on the recliner.
