Mocha
When Izzy invited me to Starbucks, he didn't actually mean Starbucks. The nearest Starbucks is more than ten miles down the highway. The place we were actually going to was Coffee Central. Since it was only two blocks away from the school, it was a popular destination for either art geeks or basic white girls.
"One caramel macchiato please," Izzy accompanied the statement with a wink. He was very clearly attempting to flirt with the barista. Lana was one of the many who skipped school, but that's only because her parents want her to run the shop. Though on multiple occasions, I have seen her drawing in a small note book instead of working. I really hope she's able to get outta here too.
"And you?" She ignored him, forcing me to hold my laughter in.
"Pfft- Oh! Um, a mocha frappe please,"
"Okay," she replied, "It'll be ready in a minute,"
"Hey, maybe next time bud," I said to him as we walked to a table.
"Yeah, yeah, you just want to see me fail again,"
"Maybe I do, maybe I don't,"
"Wow, as cold hearted as your frappe,"
"You got that right,"
"So after this, you wanna hit up the arcade, the legends are true, no one can beat me in asteroids."
I rolled my eyes, "You maybe king at asteroids, but you wouldn't last a minute on street fighters against me."
"Ari, Izzy, your drinks are ready," She said.
Both of us grabbed our drinks and sat back down, but Izzy looked at his cup and froze.
"What is it?"
Silently, he turned the cup to me. At first, I was confused, it was just a bunch of numbers. But then I realized, she wrote down her phone number. I looked back towards Lana, but you wouldn't know something was up, since her face, as always, was unreadable.
"Not bad dude!" I took a swig of my drink.
He glanced back to her, "Huh," He was uncontrollably smiling.
"Come on, me and you, street fighters?" I felt a little guilty from stopping him from talking to Lana, but there was no way that I'm going alone.
"Oh, sure," he threw out his drink.
"Done already?"
He just did fingerguns.
How helpful.
"So, are you gonna tell me where you got that nose ring? You're a minor, and we live in the middle of nowhere,"
"Well, I got it while out of town wit-" he stopped, and his face turned to one of an indescribable fear.
I turned to see why he saw.
"Ari... what was that?"
Someone was out there, well, something. It was... what you would think of when you hear the words, hell incarnated. It's eyes glowed faintly, and it matted dark fur covered its body. Izzy scuffled towards the thing.
"Izzy!" I whispered, "Don't"
The thing looked up, and I froze. It heard me. And in a blink, it disappeared.
Well, it's been awhile •~•
Sorry, this will probably be updated only occasionally
I'm kinda busy with my Glimmer x Catra book, but I'm already planning what I'll do after I'm done with it
