Chapter 4
---- Elizabeth's P.O.V. ----
I looked over at Evan next to me, who nodded and hopped over the brick wall. I crawled up and saw him hit someone in the back of the head. I got up and over and walked over to the guy. He must work for Michael or something. The rest of the guys got up and over the wall silently and went in different directions around the house. I went along with Evan to the garage while the others went who knows where. He pulled the door up with ease and we quietly snuck in. We went over to the door and Evan turned it slowly and quietly. It wouldn't turn though.
"Allow me," I whispered, taking a pin from my hair and a paper clip out of my pocket. I stuck them in the lock and started to pick it, Evan looking around to make sure no one was coming. I heard the lock click and I smirked, taking my "tools" out of the lock and opening the door with ease. He rolled his eyes jokingly and we made our way into the quiet house.
Footsteps from the floor above us made me perk up like a dog onto a scent. I snuck up the stone stairs quietly, Evan right behind me. Taking cover behind a wall, I pressed my ear to the wall to hear the footsteps coming from the room that the wall separated from the hall. Evan lightly grabbed the doorknob and I mouthed a countdown. When I mouthed one, he swung the door open and I pointed my gun in at the two men. They raised their hands.
"C'mon guys," I said, motioning for Jon and Tyler to follow Evan and I. They came out of the room and began to help us look for Michael, wherever the hell he was. We made our way back down the stairs, meeting up with the other guys in the living room.
"We can't find him," Brock said, scratching the back of his head. I sighed and looked around at everyone.
"Well, I guess he isn't here right now. And neither is his family," I said, making the others look at me with confusion.
"C'mon, he isn't gonna live in a house this big all by himself," I stated, hands on my hips. "Plus, there's two other bedrooms up there that I know Michael would not sleep in." The guys nodded in agreement.
"So now what do we do?" Jon asked. Craig rolled his eyes.
"We look for information about anything that looks sketchy," he said. We all shrugged and split up again, looking for any clues or information.
---- Later ----
We didn't find anything. I mean absolutely nothing. Not even a parking ticket or something small like that. The dude was clean for all we could have seen. We drove back to Evan's house in complete silence. Or at least, me and the guys in Craig's car did. We piled out and everyone made their way back into Evan's house. It was darker out now, so I could barely make out who was who since Evan hadn't turned on the lights yet.
"The guy's clean, so we're back where we started," Craig said, breaking the silence as he flipped on the lights in the house. I blinked, trying to get my eyes to adjust to the light. The other guys held expressions of disappointment. I more than likely held one as well. I mean we had a chance to take down someone who could potentially cause a lot of damage in the city, and we couldn't.
"So what do we do now?" I asked. Evan sighed and ran a hand through his jet black hair.
"The only thing we can do for right now," he said, making eye contact with me. "We wait for some hard evidence to show up and track what that guy is doing."
Well, this chapter is a little shorter than it usually is. I didn't have a whole lot of ideas for details to put in. Also, finals are finally over and I can finally relax, praise the holy puncake. So yeah, I'll talk to you guys later. Until then, peace out!!
Love you all,
-Alex <3
