Chapter 1
---- Elizabeth's P.O.V. ----
Sunlight made its way through my eyelids as I awoke from my sleep. God, I loved the sun and all, but not in the morning. I groaned as I simply rolled over in bed, facing my wall. I closed my eyes yet again to be met with darkness and smiled, attempting to go back to sleep. Lucky for me though, when I was just about to drift off, I heard a couple gunshots, people screaming, and the sirens of police cars outside my house.
"Ugh, does no one want me to sleep today?" I groaned out in frustration. Instead of trying to go back to sleep again, I simply sat up in my bed and stared out the window in front of me. I saw people walking with each other and the occasional car drive past. I sighed and slid out of bed, opening my bedroom door and trudging into the kitchen.
Of course, there wasn't anything in the fridge that sounded good to eat, so I went though the cabinets as well. Nothing. Oh well. I shut the last cabinet door and made my way to my bedroom, grabbing some clothes before I went to the bathroom down the hall. I set my clothes on the toilet seat and turned the water on, stripping until I was only in my panties and bra. I looked in the mirror at myself while the water heated up.
My shoulder length, light brown hair was in a tangled mess and my bright blue eyes had some makeup smudged on it still from the day before. Well, might as well brush through this before I get in the shower. I picked up my brush and started to carefully brush through it all, lightly tugging the knots loose. Soon, my hair was once again knot free and I stripped the remaining clothes, stepping in the shower.
I loved showers. They made all my filth and nastiness from the day before simply wash down the drain. I picked up the shampoo bottle, squeezing some of its contents into my hand and lathering it through my hair and scalp. I closed my eyes in bliss of the warm water washing over me and my hands giving myself a scalp massage. After rinsing the shampoo out, I washed my body with some soap to get all the grime off and stepped out.
I grabbed a towel hanging on a rack next to the shower and dried myself off, slipping my clean clothes on afterwards. I was not feeling up to drying my hair today, so I just put it in a small, messy bun instead. I smiled and walked out of the bathroom, plopping down on the couch and turning the tv on. Naturally, the news was on. When isn't it?
"-And this just in. Three men robbed a local jewelry store today. Though the suspects were not seen by anyone in the shop due to the use of knock out gas, the three men were found escaping the scene with millions in jewels and precious medals. The police were in pursuit of them, but the suspects escaped. Now if anyone sees any suspicious activity, please contact the police immediately. And now back to our previous story on the increased global warmi-" My focus on the news broadcast was interrupted by my doorbell ringing. I jumped off the couch and looked through the door's peephole. I smiled and opened the door up to see my longtime friends.
"Hey, what's up Liz?" Tyler asked, a smirk on his lips.
"Nothing much, come on on iiinnnn!" I said cheerfully, stepping aside so the others could enter.
"Did ye hear about that jewelry store heist that went down?" David asked, walking into the living room.
"Yeah, I was actually just listening to that on the news before you guys showed up," I replied, motioning to the tv which still had the news going on it.
"Well, the guys and I were actually talking about something a little while ago that we wanna inform you about," Evan said, leaning up against the wall. I smiled curiously.
"Do tell," I said, plopping back down on the couch.
"Well," Evan started, running a hand through his hair. "This city is failing, and we wanna put it back on track."
"And what do you suggest we do?" I asked, getting more curious by the second. He smiled and waved us all to follow him I got off the couch and slipped some shoes and also grabbed the pistol in my room quickly and hid it away. This wasn't the best neighborhood after all. We walked down the street to Evan's house and all walked in and headed down the stairs to his small basement. There at the other end of the room was a map and a billboard. As we got closer to it, I realized it was a map of Los Santos and the billboard was covered in different names, recent events, and theories, all of them connected by different colored string.
"Boys," Evan said, turning around. "Welcome to the control center."
