P.O.V. Third

King sighed as he looked at the door in front of him. He looked down at what he had gotten and took a deep breath as he knocked on the door in front of him. When he did he heard several steps behind the door and it sounded like whoever was on the other side was intentionally trying to be quite. The door then slowly opened and Ruby looked out of her smiling as she saw the flowers in front of her.

"W-will you go to the dance with me?" King asked as he looked at the female in front of him. Ruby smiled hearing this and King could hear the others whispering behind her. Ruby seemed a bit embarrassed hearing this and nodded as she quickly walked out of her dorm shutting the door behind her.

"S-sorry about them," Ruby said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"It's fine," King said as he looked at the female in front of him. "S-so?" King asked his face turning a slight shade of red as he waited for her answer. When he said this Ruby's face become a rosy pink and she looked away shyly as she took the flowers and sweets that King had gotten for her.

"I'd love to," Ruby said as she finally managed to bring herself to look up at King. Ruby turned and was about to walk back into the room but before she could King spoke up.

"R-Ruby wait," King said as he looked at her causing Ruby to look at him. "Would it be all right if . . . I mean can I . . ." King began before he took a deep breath hardening his nerves as he looked at the female. "Can I tell people you're my girlfriend?" King asked as he clenched his fists, he had never had so much difficulty asking a simple question before. When he asked this Ruby's face turned as red as her cape and she nodded as she looked at the male.

"Th-thank you," King said as he looked at the female in front of him. Ruby smiled hearing this and nodded as she seemed to hand off what she had gotten to someone before she closed the door behind.

"Um before you go," Ruby said as she looked up at the male leaning up slightly and closing her eyes making what she wanted more than obvious. King relaxed a bit seeing this and slowly leaned down to connect their lips together. As they did Ruby moaned into the kiss slightly and opened her mouth letting King know that she wanted to take the kiss further. As she did King gladly accepted her invitation and opened his mouth so their tongues could meet in the center.

As they did Ruby wrapped her arms around the male's neck and moaned into the kiss as they continued. When she did this King reached down to pick her up slightly so that he wouldn't have to bend over as he been doing. When he did Ruby wrapped her legs around the male as he continued to support her. After nearly a minute had passed the two broke the kiss panting slightly as they did with a thin trail of saliva.

King and Ruby both stared into each other's eyes after hearing this and King moved forward to press his forehead to hers. Ruby smiled slightly as he did and King began to lower her down. When she felt her feet touch the ground Ruby smiled and began to make her way towards the door blushing as she did. "Bye," Ruby said as she opened the door waving to him as she walked in.

"I'll see you tonight," Ruby said as she looked at the male in front of her before shutting the door. As soon as she did the sound of her teammates followed asking her several questions. King smiled hearing this and began to make his way back to the dorm he had been staying in. When he arrived he saw that Ark was getting ready looking at himself in the mirror. He was wearing a slightly fancy silver suit with a shiny surface.

"Are you going to ask Neo to the dance?" King asked as he looked at the silver-haired male in front of him causing the male to nod as he looked himself over. "In that case, I suggest putting on some cologne," King said as he looked at the male in front of him. When he said this Ark became a bit paranoid and began to smell himself. Ark didn't think he smelled that bad, then again his sense of smell wasn't that great either.

Ark then reached for some of his cologne and began to spray himself however before he could continued King stopped him. "That should be enough," King said as he looked at the male in front of him causing Ark to turn and look at him. "You don't want to overdo it, just spray on enough so that she can smell it if she gets close," King said as he looked at the male in front of him. Ark nodded hearing this looked himself over in the mirror one final time fixing his hair as he did.

Ark then picked up the small flower that he had gotten and began to walk out of the dorm. "Hope things go well," King said as he watched the door shut behind the male in front of him. A few minutes later Shadow timidly opened the door almost as if she were a bit afraid.

"Master," Shadow said as she peaked in. "Can . . . can I come in?" Shadow asked as she looked at the male in front of her. "Are you finished throwing your temper tantrum from this morning?" King asked as he looked at the female in front of him. Shadow nodded hearing this as she looked down a bit ashamed of her actions.

"Y-yes, I'm sorry master," Shadow said as she walked over to the male in front of her. "I . . . I hope you can forgive me," Shadow said as she looked at the male in front of her causing King to nod.

"Of course," King said as he pat his leg causing Shadow to smile slightly and walk over to him placing her head on his lap. "I know this might be hard for you, but if nothing else. Just know that you'll always be my number one," King said as he looked down at her. Shadow smiled slightly hearing this and nodded as she looked up at the male in front of her.

Shadow smiled hearing this and nodded. "That's enough for me, I may not be your lover like her. However, I can swear that I will protect both of you with my life," Shadow said as she looked up at the male in front of her. King smiled hearing this and looked at the clock, and sighed. "Sorry Shadow, but I'd like to get ready," King said as he looked at the female next to him.

Shadow nodded hearing this and stood up. "Do you mind if I get ready as well? I'll stop following you once you reach RWBY's dorm," Shadow said as she looked at the male in front of her. King nodded hearing this and opened one of the dressers that were in the dorm and began to get out the suit that he had gotten for the dance. It seemed like he had gone out of his way to pick out a suit that seemed to be a bit more formal than most having seven different pieces of clothing he was to wear with it.

As he changed he looked himself over in the mirror and seemed a bit unsure of his looks only for Shadow to sneak up behind him and smile. "You look, lovely master, don't worry, I'm sure the mistress will love it," Shadow said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"I hope so," King said as he looked at himself. He sighed as he looked at himself, while it's true he was hoping for the best between them. There were still so many things that he hadn't told her yet. Now that he actually developed feelings for her, he found it a bit hard. After all, most people most likely wouldn't react positively knowing him. Especially since he was the reason her mother wasn't around growing up.

King shook his head to rid himself of these thoughts before sighing and walking out of the room. As he did Shadow followed behind him. "I'm sure you'll do great, who wouldn't love you after all? You're dreamy!" Shadow said as she looked at the male causing King to smile slightly.

"Thanks, Shadow," King said as he turned down the hall towards the area he knew RWBY's dorm was. "I needed that confidence booster," King said as he walked down the hall before coming to a stop in front of the door. King waited for a moment before he took a breath and knocked on the door. When he did the door almost immediately opened and King felt some wind brush against him, showing that Ruby had used her semblance to run to the door.

"You're here, I'm glad," Ruby said as she at the male rather happily.

"Of course I showed up," King said as he looked at her. Ruby smiled hearing this and looked at him. "Why don't you open the door more?" King asked as he looked at the female in front of him. When he did Ruby seemed to sink further back into her room.

"O-okay, but you're not allowed to laugh," Ruby said as she looked at the male in front of her. King was a bit confused by this but nodded nonetheless. When he did Ruby opened the door showing that she was wearing a red dress with some black trimming. It was a rather beautiful dress and it suited her well which made King question why Ruby was embarrassed. However, he got his answer as she moved a bit her legs wobbling and she was struggling to balance herself.

Ruby then tripped and went forward with King catching her and Ruby looking up at him a bit embarrassed. "Th-thanks," Ruby said as King slowly helped her up. "Sorry, I'm not used to wearing this stupid lady stilts," Ruby said as she looked at the male in front of her. King chuckled slightly hearing this and Ruby pouted. "Hey! No laughing! You promised!" Ruby said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Sorry, I just wasn't expecting it was all," King said as he looked at the female in front of him. Ruby continued to pout hearing this before King smiled and offered her his arm. Ruby took his arm hearing this, her face red and still pouting slightly. When the two reached the room King looked around and noticed that several people were already dancing with each other. "Can I have this dance?" King asked as he looked at the female next to him.

When he asked this Ruby's face heated up hearing this and nodded as she took his hand and slowly made her way over to the male and the two began dancing together. However, after just a few seconds Ruby lost her balance and reached out to grab King's forearms to use him to help her stand. King once again chuckled seeing this and Ruby looked up at him.

"Stop laughing!" Ruby said as she looked at the male in front of her. King nodded hearing this and Ruby stood up moving closer to the male wrapping an arm around his shoulder, and taking one of his hands in her free hand. This way she could keep her balance without making it look like she was struggling so much. "Why don't you just take the shoes off?" King asked as he looked at the female in front of him and Ruby blushed.

"I uh . . ." Ruby began as she leaned closer to whisper into his ear. "I wanted to show off my legs," Ruby admitted as she looked at the male. King smiled hearing this and nodded kissing her forehead.

"Well I appreciate the thought," King said as he looked at the female in front of him. Ruby smiled hearing this and continued to dance Ruby noticed that Shadow was standing by herself near the edge of the room, staring at them. Given their past, Ruby felt a bit uneasy seeing this and tried to disregard her since she didn't want her date to be ruined.

King smiled as he continued to dance in place with Ruby. However, as they did Ruby once again noticed that Shadow was staring at them. However, it wasn't the same hate-filled stare that she usually gave her. This time it seemed like one of longing, and sadness. "King, can I ask you something?" Ruby asked as she looked at the male in front of her and King nodded as he looked at her. "What's your relationship with Shadow?" Ruby asked as she looked at the male.

"She's a close friend of mine, at the moment she's closer to me than anyone else in the world. She knows things about me that I haven't revealed to anyone else," King said as he looked at Ruby.

"I see, are you two, I mean does she-" Ruby began trying to find the right way to word what she was trying to ask.

"Yes," King said causing Ruby to look up at him. "She's in love with me, something I'm sure you've figured out. She makes her feelings blatantly obvious. She was devastated this morning when I told her I wanted to go to the dance with you. However, at the same time, I don't think I can ever get rid of her," King said as he continued to turn with her.

"What do you mean?" Ruby asked as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Shadow was there for me when no one else was. Even when my own mother had abandoned me and tossed me aside, she chose to stay with me. She's been by my side from the very beginning, a fact that can't be changed and a fact that I can't hide. Shadow will always hold a place in my heart," King admitted as he looked at the female in front of him. Ruby nodded hearing this and continued to dance with him, occasionally stealing glances at Shadow.

"If you want . . . you . . . you can dance with Shadow," Ruby offered as she looked at the male in front of her. King seemed a bit confused hearing this and shook his head.

"No, Ruby it's true she'll always be special to me but in the way that Yang will always be special to you. If I had to choose each time I'll," King began only for Ruby to cut him off by placing a finger on his lips.

"I know, and I love you too. However, she's known you for years as you said. I think it's only right she gets to have her moment with you as well," Ruby said as she looked at the male in front of her causing King to nod.

"I . . . see. If that's what you want," King said as he looked down at her causing her to nod. When she did King stopped dancing with her and King walked over to Shadow. When he did Shadow looked down.

"I haven't been staring . . . I-I mean I have, but not glaring at her like usual. Trust me, master, I would never-" Shadow began only for King to offer her a hand.

"Can I have this dance?" King asked as he looked at her. When she did Shadow smiled and took his hand. The two then made their way back to the dancefloor and Ruby began to walk over to the side and stared at them as they danced together. Shadow was leaning against him resting her head on his shoulder with a happy and content look.

She really did look happy with King, and Ruby being the kind and pure being she was couldn't stand the thought of tearing them apart. She couldn't ask King to choose between them for the simple fact that, he had already had. From what he had told her, it sounded like King had known about her feelings for years, and yet despite all that he still chose her over Shadow. King had already made his choice and if he had to choose again she knew the result would most likely be the same.

Which for her, only left one option, Ruby watched as the two continued to dance and just as the song sounded as if it were going to end Ruby began to walk towards the two. "May I cut in?" Ruby asked as she looked at the two.

"Oh, of course," Shadow said as she backed away from the male and Ruby smiled as she stepped forward and to both her and King's surprised took Shadow's hands in hers and began to dance with her. King watched as the two continued to dance with each other and they were completely silent until Shadow eventually spoke. "Why did you want to dance with me?" Shadow asked as she looked at the female in front of her.

"Well there's something I wanted to talk to you about," Ruby said as she looked at the female.

"Don't worry," Shadow said as she looked at the female in front of her already having a fairly good idea of what she was going to say. "I won't get in the way of you and King," Shadow said as she looked at the female in front of her. After all, if she did something like that she knew that King wouldn't be happy and as far as she's concerned no one is allowed to stand in front of King's happiness, not even her.

"N-No, that's not it," Ruby said as she looked at the female causing Shadow to look up at her a bit confused. "I can tell how much you love King, and I can only imagine how horrible I'd feel if I had loved someone for as long as you've loved King, and then someone steals him away from you," Ruby said as she looked at the female in front of her. Shadow nodded confirming that she was indeed upset with the way that things had played out for her.

"So . . . I was thinking," Ruby began as she looked at the female in front of her. "Maybe we can . . . share him?" Ruby said as she looked at the female in front of him. Shadow seemed shocked hearing this before becoming extremely excited.

"R-really?" Shadow asked as she looked at the female.

"Yeah, I'm not sure if King will like the idea but-" Ruby began only for Shadow to cut her off.

"He won't," Shadow said as she looked at Ruby causing her to look at her. "I've known King ever since he was a child, and I can safely say the one thing he values more than any other is loyalty. He won't like the idea of being with multiple people at the same time," Shadow said as she looked at Ruby a bit discouraged.

"Then again, I guess this sort of is a special circumstance, so it's possible that he'll accept the idea a bit quicker than normal. However, I doubt he'll be very happy about it at first," Shadow said as she looked at the female in front of her. Ruby smiled hearing this and looked at the female.

"So do you think we should ask him now?" Ruby asked as she looked at the female.

"I . . . yeah . . . it would probably be best if we got this out of the way as quickly as possible. I ask that you try to make it sound like it was your idea. I don't want him getting mad at me because he thinks I implanted the idea into your head. Although if it backfires then you can blame it on me, I . . . I don't want him getting mad at you," Shadow said as she looked at the female in front of her.

Ruby nodded hearing this and the two stopped dancing before they began to walk towards King. When the two arrived King looked at them a bit confused since the seemed both excited and nervous for some reason. "King, we talked it over and . . . we have something we'd like to ask you," Ruby said as she looked at the male in front of her.

King looked at them a bit curious and the two were quiet for a moment before either spoke. "Well . . . we've . . . decided," Ruby began as she looked at the male in front of her. "To share you," Ruby said as she looked at the male in front of her. King stared at the two in front of him a bit blankly hearing this.

"Shadow did you-" King began only for Ruby to cut him off.

"No, she didn't, it . . . it was my idea," Ruby confessed as she looked at the male in front of her. "I just thought it would be a bit sad to break such an important bond between the two of you. So . . . this . . . seemed like an easier option," Ruby said as she looked at the male in front of her. "So what do you think? Is this . . . okay . . . with you?" Ruby asked as she looked at the male in front of her.

"I don't know," King said as he looked at the two in front of him. "One thing I've always stood for is loyalty. I can safely say that it's far easier to stay loyal to a single person than it is to stay loyal to multiple. I also don't want to risk hurting one of you because I have to remain loyal to both of you. I'm sure any other person would love to be in this position, and I'm sure they would accept it without a second thought. However, I am against the idea," King said as he looked at the two in front of him.

"Told you," Shadow whispered as she looked at the female next to her.

"Well then, there has to be something we can do," Ruby said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"I-I don't mind anything really," Shadow said as she looked at the male in front of her. "As far as I'm concerned you can spend more than ninety percent of your time with Ruby, and just come visit me when it's convenient for you. I won't try to surpass her or turn you against her in any way. I get it, Ruby's going to be superior to me in this relationship. I'm okay with that," Shadow said as she looked at the two in front of her.

King sighed hearing this and looked at the two in front of him. It was more than obvious to him that they weren't going to give up any time soon, and in Shadow's case she might never give up even if Ruby does, or even if Ruby changes her mind about wanting to share King. "Fine," King said as he looked at the two in front of him.

"Thank you, King!" Shadow said as she dashed forward to hug the male. As she did King returned her hug partially looking at Ruby as he did before opening his other arm and Ruby coming after he did and hugging him as well. Taking care of both them might be a chore, but if it keeps them happy then at the moment King was at least willing to try.
