Chapter 1: Tamer

P.O.V. Third

"For now there's something I want you to do," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her. When she said this King looked up at the female waiting for what she could possibly want him to do. "I want you to learn how to tame grimm," Salem said as she looked at the young male in front of her.

King looked at the female both shocked and confused hearing this. "You can do that?" King asked as he looked at the female in front of him. Salem nodded hearing this and looked at the male.

"Grimm despite what people think are weak creatures that are easily controlled once you know what you're doing. So I'd like you to learn how to tame and control these creature to use them not only to your advantage but mine as well," The female said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Now follow me and we'll begin right away," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her. King nodded hearing this and began to follow his mother out of the room and once again began to walk down the halls of the building they were in.

As they did King noticed that they were walking to the entrance of the building and the two stopped at the door. Salem then turned to look at the child in front of her and King stared up at his mother nervously. "I'm sure you've noticed the baleful presence surrounding this place, this attracts Grimm so go outside and I'm sure you'll find several Grimm, tame one of your choosing. Once you return with a grimm that has submitted itself to you then we can move on with our next task," Salem said as she turned and began to walk away from the male.

King watched the female walk down the halls until she faded from sight. When she did King turned his attention to the door and slowly opened it and looked around outside. He hadn't paid much attention to the area before as he had been so distracted by the fact that he had reunited with his mother that he didn't take any of the surrounding features in.

As King looked around he noticed that there were several pure black rocks that came from the ground in unusual shapes being either perfectly angled and sharp or just slightly jagged. King then began to walk around and heard crunching beneath his feet. When he looked down he saw several small rocks like the ones that were surrounding him under his feet.

It seemed as if this entire domain of hers was composed of this strange black rock. King shook his head to rid himself of these thoughts and began to walk away from the building hoping to find some form of Grimm.

The male continued looking for some form of grimm not finding any to his disappointment. The male then found a small section that appeared to be different than what he had seen so far. An area with a large rock that was pure white and seemed to be going into the ground.

King sighed as he leaned against the rock and began to look around for grimm. King thought that it may have been possible his walking was somehow alerting the grimm and scaring them away. So now he was hoping that by staying still some grimm would come to him.

However as the male waited he failed to notice that the rock he was leaning on had an unusual design to it. King sighed as he leaned even more on the rock and then suddenly felt the ground beneath him begin to rumble and crack. King looked around confused by this before he suddenly realized where the source of this sudden earthquake was coming from and stepped away from the rock he had been leaning against.

When he did the rock began to move as cracks split open revealing a large serpent-like creature. King stared at the creature in slight shock and awe of the beast before him. It was easily larger than anything he had seen before, and while king couldn't say for certain the creature looked almost as big as the palace his mother lived in.

Its scales seemed to be made out of the same type of armor that the grimm grew on them, these scales covered the creature body except for a large crest in the shape of crown on the creatures head. It also kept the traditional red eyes that Grimm had, however King noticed that it's eyes seemed more fierce and powerful than others he had seen. The large creature then slowly opened its mouth revealing several large fangs in it's mouth that had a strange liquid surrounding its teeth.

The creature then lunged forward at King only to stop just before it reached the male and be sent back. The creature let out a pained cry when it was sent back and looked at King once again lunging at him only to be met with the same result as before. The creature continued to do this several times trying to attack King only to be met with the same result each time.

As it did King watched as the liquid that surrounded it's teeth fell and hit the ground. When it did King saw the same strange black rock-like structure come from the ground where the liquid had been. Seeing this King then realized a few things the most important of which was just how powerful the creature in front of him was.

This giant serpent had destroyed whatever had been here before and replaced it all with the rocks that sprouted from it's venom. King looked at the creature even more impressed than he had been before. The creature then stopped attacking him and began to look at him as it did King suddenly felt a wave of negative energy pass through him.

King suddenly felt sick feeling this and began to look around trying to avoid the creatures gaze. As he did he noticed that the strange rocks that had come from the creature were now beginning to decay at an unnatural rate. When he noticed this King noticed that almost everything around him was beginning to decay and die much faster than usual.

Everything except for a small area around King, an area that Salem had labeled his default. At the moment King was glad he had this otherwise he was certain he'd be dying just as all the other things around him were.

The creature then once again let out a loud scream as it looked at the child in front of him. King feeling the creatures clear discontent for him took a step back before running away from the creature. As he did he heard a loud crash and felt the ground shake.

When he looked behind him he saw that the creature had once again appeared to disappear. The thought of looking for it once again didn't cross the males mind as he continued to run away from where he had been standing.

Once King had reached an area that he thought was away from the creature he had just seen he stopped began to lean over out of breath panting heavily. He stayed like this for a few moments before he once again stood up.

King then once again began to walk around looking for a grimm. However as he did King noticed that it was starting to get late and began to walk towards the building he had come from. King then opened the door and began to walk down the halls of the building looking for his mother to give her the unfortunate news.

King walked into the throne room only to see that his mother was nowhere to be found. Seeing this King shut the door and once again began to walk down the halls. As he did he heard some voices in the distance and began to follow them until he reached the room that he always trained in with Tyrian.

When King opened the door he saw Salem with four younger figures in front of her. Salem turned to see who had just walked into the room. As soon as she saw that it was King the female once again turned to the figures in front of her.

"Are we clear?" Salem asked as she looked at the four in front of her earning a nod from each of them. Salem then turned and waited for King to approach her. When the male was just a few feet away from her she looked down at him

"So King, how did you fair in your task?" Salem asked as she looked at the male in front of her.

"I-" King began as he looked away from his mother. "I wasn't able to do it. I . . . I couldn't tame any Grimm," King said as he continued to avoid the female's gaze.

"I see," Salem said as she looked down at the male in front of her. The female then began to walk past him. "Then you'll just have to try harder to tomorrow," Salem said in a tone that was clearly meant to make the child feel ashamed for his failure. "Oh and King," Salem said as she stopped at the door before turning to look at him.

When she did King looked at her, "Don't fail me again," The female said as she walked out of the room. When she did King felt a small amount of tears build up in his eyes. King then heard a few footsteps coming towards him and quickly wiped his eyes.

King then began to walk away hoping to do some form of reading that could help him in his quest to tame a creature of Grimm. "Where do you think you're going?" King heard a male voice say behind him.

When King heard this he turned to see four figures staring at him. A female that looked to be older than him and three males that looked to be younger than him. King had seen them several times around the palace but had never paid to much attention to them because his mother always had a task for him.

The female was the easiest for him to identify simple because there was only one female that worked for Salem. Cinder Fall, a female in her early teens like her male counterpart Tyrian. She had long black hair that she kept tied back and eerie yellow eyes.

King then averted his attention to the first male he saw. A male with black hair and black eyes, from what King could tell this was most likely Dermot, King then turned to the male beside him seeing that he had grey hair and grey eyes. King knew who this male was as he was here before the others were arriving the same time as Tyrian.

Then King looked at the final male and saw that he like Dermot had black hair, however unlike the male his eyes were two different colors with one being an emerald green color and the other being crimson red, as well as his pupils being slitted. Dermot then walked up to him with a smirk and stared at King.

"Leaving so soon? What's wrong afraid of a little someone who's stronger than you?" The male with black eyes said as he looked at King. When he said this it only confirmed what King had thought about this males identity. His mother had told him that Dermot despite his age was very arrogant and that she had already punished him several times.

"No, I just have better things to do," King said as he looked at the younger male in front of him earning a laugh from him. Ark, Cinder, and Malthus all watched as he did before the male claimed himself and looked at King.

"Someone like you wouldn't last a day on the streets," Dermot said as he looked at King. As soon as he said this King went to speak only to stop when the male continued. "In fact it wouldn't surprise me if you ended up being nothing but a disappointment. After all you said you ran from a grimm right? How pathetic," The male said as he looked at King.

King turned away from the male hearing this and began to walk away. As he did Dermot felt a small amount of rage pass through him as he looked at the male in front of him. "Don't walk away from me," Dermot said as he reached for the male in front of him.

However before he could touch the male he felt a sharp pain in his hand and looked to see that his wrist had been broken. Dermot screamed in pain feeling this and looked at the male as he glared at him. King returned his stare before the male felt a massive amount of rage build in him and grabbed his gun.

When he did he pointed it at King and shot at him. When he did the bullet stopped before it reached him and was sent back at the male in front of him. As it collided with the males abdomen it exploded sending him into the wall behind him. When it did King looked at him a bit confused.

'Is this really the someone mom wanted find? He doesn't seem that strong, he actually seems weaker than Tyrian,' King thought to himself as he began to look at the several figures in front of him. 'Actually now that I think about it, I've only fought Tyrian so I have no idea how strong they are compared to him,' King thought as he looked at the figures in front of him.

'Ark, Malthus, Cinder, I don't know what any of them are capable of. Mom said she doesn't want any weaklings dragging us down,' King thought as he looked at the remaining three in front of him. 'If that's the case then I need to make sure none of them are weak,' King thought to himself as he looked at the three in front of him.

"I want the three of you to fight me," King said as he looked at the three in front of him. As soon as he said this the three looked at him slightly confused as to what he meant. "I want to make sure none of you are weak, so I want to fight each of you individually," King said as he looked at the three in front of him.

"The three of you can decide who fights first," King said as he looked at the three in front of him. As soon as he said this the three stared at each other and before the three could discuss the issue Malthus stepped forward and looked at the male.

"I'll go first, I can't see it bothering any of them," The black haired male said as he looked at King. The male then reached for his katana and readied it pointing the blade at King. When he did the white haired male sighed and began to stretch.

As he did Malthus dashed forward with his katana ready to attack. Malthus immediately aimed for the males throat however stopped as he felt some resistance against the blade. However before he could search for the cause his blade shattered causing the male's eyes to widen.

The shards were then sent towards the male leaving a few minor cuts on him and Malthus smiled. "No big deal, I've been meaning to upgrade anyway," The male said as he looked at King with a smile.

The male then once again charged towards King ready to punch him however as he did King noticed something coming from his arm. Then without warning a shadow came from the top of the male's arm forming a blade from his arm.

Like before it stopped before it reached King and Malthus was sent back. When he was King heard something behind him and turned to see a spike coming from his shadow. The large spike then faded and King turned to look at the male in front of him.

"Umbrakinesis," King said as he looked at the male in front of him. When he said this Malthus looked at him and King continued. "Your semblance, it's Umbrakinesis correct?" King said only to earn a slightly confused look from the male in front of him. "Darkness manipulation, the ability to control shadows at will. That's what your ability is right?" King said as he looked at the male in front of him.

Not receiving a response King smirked knowing that he was right and looked at the male in front of him. The male gritted his teeth hearing this and began to run towards him with several large shadows surrounding him. King watched as he looked at the male in front of him and waiting for him to come closer.

Malthus then sent all his shadows forward and like before they stopped before they could reach the male and King reached forward punching the male in his face. Malthus was sent back feeling this with some blood coming from his nose and before he could regain his footing King kicked the males feet ensuring that he'd fall however before he could King grabbed the male by his collar and throwing him against the wall on the other end of the room.

King then looked at the two that he hadn't fought yet. "Next," he said as he looked at them. The two shared a quick glance before Ark motioned towards the male in front of him suggesting that he wanted Cinder to fight before him. The female sighed hearing this and walked towards the male in front of her.

As she did King noticed that she had several bottles of dust around her waste and before he could say anything the female opened one of them and threw the dust in front of her. When she did the dust turned into solid shards and were sent towards King.

Like Malthus' shadows there were stopped before they could reached the male however unlike his shadows they exploded when they were stopped. King waited for the miniature dust cloud to disappear however before it did, to King's surprise an arrow came from it and was sent away from him.

After a few seconds of silence the dust cloud disperse and King saw Cinder holding a bow and looking slightly irritated before she continued to fire at the male in front of her. As she did the arrows were all sent away from the male and almost never in the same direction as before.

The female then stopped holding her bow and it transformed into two swords. The female then began to run towards the male holding the weapons and swung at him to no avail. However like everything else that had been sent towards him the attack was stopped and she was sent back.

"And if I'm not mistaken," King began much to the female's annoyance. "Your semblance is dust manipulation," King said as he looked at the female. As he said this the female glared at him before she reached to her side and opened all the dust containers that had red dust in them.

When she did the dust moved out of the containers and began to form a large fireball above the females head. She then moved her hands forward and sent it towards the male in front of her. When she did King raised a hand and the fire ball disperse in front of the female separating into several smaller orbs and were all sent towards her at a faster speed.

Cinder jumped back to avoid them however as they all crashed into the ground they all exploded sending the female back. Cinder then once again opened two containers of dust and the dust formed two swords the Cinder stabbed into the ground to keep herself from being thrown into the wall behind her.

As she did she saw King still standing in front of her and sighed as he swords once again turned into dust and began to move towards her containers. "I give up," Cinder said as she looked at the male in front of her. When she said this King looked at her surprised and she continued. "That at the moment was my best attack, there's no point in me fighting if you can stop something like that," Cinder said as she walked to the side.

As she did the final male stepped forward and looked at King. The two looked at each other for a moment before Ark reached into his pocket and pulled out a small notepad and a pen. Ark then quickly wrote something on the piece of paper before tearing it off and holding it up.

When he did the piece of paper began to float towards King and when it did King looked at what Ark had written. He knew that the male was mute so he had not problem reading what he had written and saw just one word on the paper. "Serious" was written and King looked up at the male in front of him and sighed.

It was fairly obvious what Ark wanted from King and while King knew he could get serious for the male in front of him yet at the same time didn't have any reason to at the moment. King thought about the male's request before he sighed and looked at Ark.

"Okay, I'll get serious," King began as he looked at the male. "Under, one condition," King said as he looked at Ark. When he said this Ark looked up at him curious as to what he was about to say and King smiled. "The winner gets one demand from the loser," King said as he looked at Ark.

"It's pointless for me to go all out when I don't have any reason to. This way I have a reason to actually try," King said as he looked at the male in front of him. However as soon as he said this King looked at the male in front of him. "That is assuming you agree to these conditions," King said as he looked at the male in front of him.

Ark stood still for a moment before he nodded and King smiled. "Great," King said as he looked at the male in front of him. "Now I have a reason to take this serious," King said as he disappeared and reappeared in front of the male. When he did Ark jumped back before moving forward to attack the male.

When he did he noticed one of King's feet heading towards him and closed his eyes as King kicked him in the face. Ark had to admit while he had watched him and Tyrian fight on several different occasions he never physically fought he always manipulated his scythe to do most of the work so he did know King could move as he just did and it almost seemed unnatural to Ark.

Before he could question any further King moved down and behind the male. As he did Ark reacted on instinct and turned to try and hit the male however when he finally came into sight he saw that King had already thrown a punch at him and his fist came into contact with the side of Ark's head. Before Ark had the chance to regain his composure King uppercut him sending him back slightly.

Ark then narrowed his eyes and held up a hand to stop the males attack however as he did he found that King's attack didn't lose any speed or force and continued to move forward pushing his hand back. Ark gritted his teeth seeing this and move his free hand in an attempt to elbow King in the face. However as he did his arm stopped and was sent back and Ark jumped back and began to avoid the males attacks.

'His style is all over the place, but his battle sense is amazing,' Ark thought to himself as he looked at King. Ark then once again saw one of King's fists coming towards him and acting on nothing but instinct Ark reached for his blade and swung it at King.

As soon as he did Ark realized his mistake and thought about how upset Salem would be once she found out he killed her son. However the male then thought about his semblance and felt some relief as he thought about how it would just be deflected.

Yet to his surprise his blade wasn't pushed away and continued towards the males throat. Ark once again began to panic seeing this and closed his eyes not wanting to see the mistake he was about to make. After a few moments passed he heard a loud clang and opened his eyes to see King's fist make contact with him.

Ark was then sent back and began to hold his nose because of the blood. As he did he looked up to see how King had stopped his sword and saw that King looked a little different than before. His skin had turned a deathly pale like his mothers and his sclera had become a deep reflective black and around his neck there was a strange black armor where his sword would have hit.

"Congratulations," King said as he looked at the male. "This is the first time I've actually had to use this in battle," King said as he reached up to touch the armor around his neck. When he did the armor faded and his skin returned to it's fair color and his sclera's returned to their usual white.

Ark was slightly shocked to see this, of course now that he thought about what he had just seen it of course it made sense that he'd have that ability. He's the son of Salem so of course he could create Grimm armor from his body or at least some variation of it as his armor was a pure black and not solid white like the grimm he had seen.

King then dashed forward and punched the male on the back of his sending Ark towards the ground. "Sorry Ark," King said as he leaned down towards the male. "But it looks like I win," King said as he stood up and turned around.

"As for what I want," King said as he began to walk away. "I'm sure I'll think of something later," King said as he walked out of the room and down the halls of the palace. He continued until he reached the portion of the building his mother had told him was the library.

When he did King began to look through the several shelves of books for something about Grimm. Anything that he thought he could use or would help him tame a Grimm would be more than enough to satisfy him at the moment.

As he looked through several different books he didn't anything that he thought was useful until he came to a small section in one of the books. He saw a picture of the creature he had seen, and began to read the page.

"The Basilisk, one of the five primordial creatures of Grimm. The creature is said to be similar to a  king taijitu with the exception this creatures entire body is covered in armor except for a small mark on it's head in the shape of a crown. This creature apart from it's incredible size has some unique abilities, including a highly potent venom that can-" King began only to stop feeling a hand on his shoulder.

King turned behind him to see Salem looking down at him and he tensed up seeing that it was her. "Reading, I see," The female said as she walked to the other side of the table.

"Yeah, I was hoping I could find something to help me with taming Grimm," King said as he continued to read the book in front of him to himself.

"I see, if that's the case a book about Grimm may not be the place to start," Salem said as she stood up and walked along the several sections only stopping when she finally found the book she was looking for. Once she found it she took it from the shelf and placed it in front of King.

"This may be the place to start if you're planning on taming a creature as powerful as the Basilisk," Salem said as she began to walk away. King closed the book in front of him hearing this and pushed it to the side and reached for the book Salem had placed in front of him.

King then opened the book and began to read it, it had several different tactics used for intimidating others. King then came to a page labeled Killing Intent. This page seemed to interest King and he began to read it and as he did he realized why Salem recommended this book to him for being able to tame Grimm.

King then stood up and once again began to walk around the library to look for more information on the ability he had just read about. As he walked he looked at several different books only to stop when he heard the door to the room he had been in open.

King then looked back to see Tyrian looking at him. "The goddess has requested your presence," Tyrian said as he looked at King. As he said this King nodded and walked out of the room he was in and began to follow the older male down the halls.

King then once again found himself in a familiar room. When he did he saw Salem sitting on a chair with someone that looked like him on the other side of her holding a sword. Tyrian walked away seeing this and King walked towards his mother.

As he did Salem looked at him and gestured to male beside her that was holding a sword. "King I'd like you to meet the first in the series of clones you'll be facing," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her.

King nodded hearing this and his clone looked at him. "Indeed, the goddess has instructed me to battle you," The male said as he began to show his enthusiasm for battle. "Also," The male said as he turned to look at King. "I've been told it's okay to kill you, is it really?" The male said as he looked at King.

King then glanced at his mother and she looked at the two in front of her. "Indeed, if you do manage to kill him then there will be no harm that befalls to you," Salem said as she looked at the males in front of her. "Now then," Salem said as she looked at the two in front of her.

"Begin," Salem said as she looked at the two in front of her. As soon as she said this the clone of King ran forward and attempted to cut King however like his previous fights the sword stopped before it could hit him.

The clone was more than shocked to see this and King looked up at him quickly raising his hand impaling the male. When he did the clone spit up some blood and King took his hand out of the male's chest. When he did he turned to look at his mother slightly confused about what he had just seen.

"Is this really supposed to be a clone of me?" King asked confused as he pointed to the now lifeless body in front of him and Salem nodded. King then watched as the clone of him began to disappear in a small amount of shadows suggesting that he was more in touch with his Grimm side than King was.

"Indeed, while he's far from an ideal opponent that's why we have more than fifty thousand of them ready for battle. As I said yesterday their memories will be transferred to the next when they die, and they will continue to fight. The last few many prove very difficult to defeat, even for someone as capable as you," Salem said as she looked at her son.

King nodded hearing this and Salem looked to a male that was on the other end of the room. "Bring in the next one," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her. When she did the male nodded and walked out of the room before returning with another clone of the male.

"Having you kill one a day would be such a waste of time, at that rate you wouldn't be finished until you were more than one hundred years old. So I decided you'll be kill one hundred thirty seven a day, that way you'll be finished in just under a year," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her.

King nodded hearing this and he heard the door in front of him open and once again turned to see another clone of his in front of him holding a spear. 'Maybe he thinks a different weapon will increase his chances of winning,' King thought to himself as his mother once again gave the two the signal to battle.

As he did the male charged at King and tried to attack him from a different direction than the last clone had. However he was met with the same result with his attack being stopped just before he had the chance to reach King and King impaling the male with his hand.

This clone seemed to struggle a bit more than the last and tried to raise himself off King's arm before he disappeared into a small cloud of shadows. Salem then glanced at the male and he nodded as he once again walked out of the room.

"At this rate we may actually be finished in a little less than a year," Salem said as she looked a the male in front of her. King unsure of what to say nodded hearing this and waited for the male to once again bring in another clone.

Unknown to the few in the room one figure was watching them through a small crack in the door. She didn't think they'd mind if she were to watch but she always preferred to do things in secret compared to other methods.

While she knew King was strong because of their fight from earlier she didn't imagine that he was capable of killing himself several times in a day. Cinder continued to watch as he continued to kill himself in different ways.

She'd never admit it but seeing something like this made her slightly more afraid of the male than usual. She watched him as he continued to kill himself repeatedly. At first it was the same as the first few a quick impalement until the clones began to realize what he was doing and began to fight him differently, forcing King to start killing them differently.

She watched as King finished killing the final clone for the day and he turned to look at his mother. "You preformed excellently King, now onto the current task at hand. I want you to once again leave the building and try to tame a Grimm," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her.

King nodded hearing this and began to walk towards the door. As he did Cinder stepped to the side and watched as he walked out of the room and past her. Deciding it'd be better if she didn't bother him Cinder began to walk down the opposite end of the halls.

King then opened the door that lead outside and began to walk towards the area he had went to yesterday hoping to see the same creature as before. However to his disappointment the creature had not returned.

However as he continued he did see the large crater that it had left behind. King looked into the deep crater before he sighed and began to climb down it. King was careful as he continued to climb down the large crater. As he did he heard a loud hiss which almost sounded more like a roar than anything else and then felt the ground begin to rumble.

Feeling this King's grip tightened around the ledge he was currently holding onto and King heard a large creature begin to approach him. As a few moments had passed the noise stopped and King turned to see the giant creature once again staring at him. However this time the creature was much closer to him and it almost seemed to be glaring at him.

As King stared into the creature's red eyes he found himself becoming intimidated as he looked at him. Could could see the hatred the creature had for him and it almost looked as if the creatures eyes were coursing with power. King then took a deep breath and looked at the creature as his skin turned pale and some armor began to appear on him.

King admittedly wasn't use to use a lot of his power in one day so using this took a toll on the male and King began to pant as he looked at the creature. He was hoping that if it saw him as a Grimm instead of as a human it would help him tame the creature.

It seemed to work to a small extent as the creatures gaze seemed to soften upon seeing him in his new state. King smiled seeing this and his grip around the ledge began to weaken as he looked at the creature. King then let himself return to to normal panting as he did.

King didn't want to admit it, especially to his mother of all people but he had been pushed far beyond his limits. Not sleeping for almost two days and killing one hundred thirst seven different versions of himself as well as fighting the four others Salem had recruited left King in a tired and exhausted state.

King then felt some pressure under him and looked down to see the tail of the creature beneath him. King slowly lowered himself onto the creatures tail before the two began to fall down the large crater that it had created.

When the two reached the bottom King looked at the large creature in front of him as it slowly circled him as if it were investigating King. "How very strange," King heard a deep voice say inside his head. "You look normal but you must be defective in some manner," King once again heard the same voice say and began to look around confused.

"It appears as if you can even hear my voice, that proves that in some manner you are a creature of Grimm," King heard the same voice from before say as he continued to look around for the source of the voice. "Tell me little one, what is your name?" The voice once again said as he looked at the male in front of him.

"M-My name is King Kresnik," The child said as he continued to look around for the source of the voice.

"I see," the voice said as King turned his attention to the creature he was currently standing on. "I believe your people have their own name for me. The basilisk I believe," King heard the creature's voice say inside his head. "Tell me little one," The creature said as he used his tail to turn King so he could continue to look at him. "How did someone like you come to be?" The creature asked as he looked at King.

"I don't know," King said as he looked at the massive beast in front of him.

"Not knowing how one came to be is a rather unusual scenario. However you are quiet an . . . interesting specimen to say the least. A creature that is both Grimm and human in nature, born with aura yet able to use Grimm properties as well. Other Creatures of Grimm can even form mental links with you as we do with our own," The creature said as it looked at King.

It then leaned down to look at him not willing to let this new discovery escape him. "So tell me young one, why are you here? More specifically, why have you chosen to pursue me?" The Basilisk asked as it looked at King.

"M-my mother told me I had to learn to tame Grimm so I-" King began only to get cut off by the creature he was staring at.

"Tame?" It questioned as it looked at the male in front of him. "There's only one person I know of that uses that term for us," The creature said as it leaned down to look at King. "You're her son aren't you? The son of the dark mistress, the one they call Salem," The Basilisk said as it looked at King.

The child nodded hearing this and the Basilisk's eyes once again hardened as it looked at King. "That would explain how you came to be. Yet it still leaves several questions unanswered, tell me young one if you do managed to . . . befriend me, then what are your intentions? What do you plan to do afterwords," The Basilisk said as it looked at King.

"I . . . I don't know," King said as he looked away from the creature in front of him.

"Then why agree to tame me? As task as foolish as this must have some motive. Why agree to this if you don't know what you plan on doing afterwords," The Basilisk said as it looked at the male in front of him. King once again looked away from the creature hearing this began to explain his reasoning.

"My mother said that she doesn't have a place for anyone who's weak. So she keeps telling me I need to prove I'm strong by giving me different tasks," The male said as he looked at the creature in front of him. The creature was silent hearing this and looked at him.

"King . . . You seem like a loyal person, so I will lend you my strength when it is needed," The Basilisk said as he looked at King causing him to smile. "On the condition, that you visit me everyday. As I said you are an interesting phenomenon," The Basilisk said as it looked towards the young male in front of him.

"Is this something you can agree to?" The Basilisk asked as it began to raise itself out of the hole it was in. King nodded hearing this and the creature let out a loud roar that forced King to cover his ears.

When the two reached the surface King saw a king taijitu staring at him. It seemed as if it was ready to attack however stopped receiving a glare from the Basilisk. After what King assumed was a short conversation the king taijitu lowered one of it's heads and allowed King to climb onto it.

As he did the creature slowly rose and began to head towards the large palace that was in the center of the island stopping in front of it. The creature then lowered it's head allowing King to get off of it and as it did the door opened and Salem looked at the creature in front of her before looking at King with a smile.

"Seems as if you have completed the task I assigned to you," Salem said with a smile. "Now please come in so that we may begin the next task at hand," Salem said as she moved to the side gesturing for King to enter the building.

As she did King nodded and walked into the building with Salem shutting the door behind them. When she did the king taijitu began to slither away from the building allowing them to do as they pleased.

TIMESKIP

Salem watched the seven blurs are they continued to dart around the small confide room they were in. This was King's final test for her cloning experiment that she had made. A six on one fight that she expected King to win. While their fights had become increasing disturbing to watch she was more than proud to admit that King had made it this far and that so far he hadn't lost a single round.

The door then opened beside her and she turned to see Ark with an occasional white blur passing between the two. "Ah there you are Ark, please come here," Salem said as she looked at the male. Ark nodded hearing this and began to make his way to the female.

Salem then saw a large burst of blood behind the male and saw one of her clones fall to the ground lifeless before it began to disappear. This single elimination seemed to give King the upper hand as she once again heard another large burst of blood behind her then saw another out of the corner of her eye before she once again turned to see the four white blurs still dashing around the room they were in.

Another large cloud of blood then appeared in front of the two and another version of King fell to the ground. Salem then smiled as she watched this version of King also begin to fade into shadows and she looked at the young male beside her.

"He's amazing is he not?" Salem asked as she looked at the male beside her. Ark nodded hearing this and continued to watch the three blurs dart around the room. Ark had spent his entire life training to be what he considered peak physical condition. Yet even watching the three in front of him as much as Ark hated to admit it he had trouble keeping up with the three's movements.

"To think just a year ago he could barely use his semblance and now he's capable of something like this. He's a protegee beyond what I could have hoped for nine years ago," Salem said with a smile as another cloud of blood appeared in front of them before the final two blurs stopped with King being on top of his clone keeping him pinned down by his head.

While the original was panting clearly out of breath the male beneath him was growling showing his more natural connection to his Grimm side. King then crushed the males head and stood up still out of breath and looked at his mother.

Salem smiled seeing this and began to clap applauding King for his performance and looked at him. "You preformed your task most excellently," Salem said as she reached down to touch the males head. "However now there's just one more task that I have for you," Salem said as she looked at the child in front of her.

King looked at the female a little curious hearing this Salem's smile once again faded to her usual stoic expression. "Do this and you'll earn a place by my side permanently," Salem said causing King to smile with excitement.

"What is it mother?" King asked trying not to show his excitement.

"Consider this a field test, which is why Ark will be accompanying you," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her. King nodded hearing this and waited for where his mother planned on sending him.
