Chapter 0: Prologue

P.O.V. Third

A female with deathly pale skin with dark purple veins on her skin and pure white hair as well as red eyes with black sclera. The female was currently sitting on a large throne that she had gained from her most recently defeated enemy.

She placed her hand on her stomach and sighed. It was almost time for her child to be born. She then stood up and a male that was nearby with black hair and green eyes looked at the female slightly concerned. "Are you okay Salem?" the male asked as he looked at the female in front of him.

"I'm fine," the female said calmly as she continued to walk towards the door. "I shall return in a few days," The female said as she looked at the male in front of her. When Salem said this her subordinate looked at her surprised and she decided to explain herself.

"I'm close, the child will be born any day now," Salem said as she opened the door in front of her.

"Then what will you do? If you're close to giving birth then why leave?" Arthur asked concerned as he looked at the female in front of him.

"I have heard rumors of an island off the coast of Mistral that has a special cult on it. I'm sure this cult will benefit me quiet well," The female said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Are you sure going alone is wise? Being in such a weak state will surely-" Arthur began only for the female that he had been speaking with to cut him off.

"That's enough Arthur, I don't plan on staying very long. Just long enough to give birth and then leave," Salem said as she looked at Arthur. The male tensed up under the female's gaze and nodded. When he did Salem walked out of the room being sure to shut the door behind her. Salem then began to slowly walk down the halls.

TIMESKIP

After being gone for five days Auther and had begun to worry about the female worrying that a huntsmen or that Ozpin had found her while she was on her way to the island. However his worry faded as he heard the door open and turned to see the female that occupied his thoughts walking towards her seat.

However he quickly became concerned as he noticed that it was just Salem. "My lady, if you don't mind me asking, where's your child?" Arthur asked as he looked at Salem.

"I left him on the island," Salem said flatly as she looked at the male in front of her. Arthur was shocked to hear this but deciding not to question the female simply nodded. Seeing his obvious curiosity and nervousness Salem decided to explain.

"As I said before I left the island I went to was a special island with a very certain cult on it. There is little doubt in my mind that they will make his life less than desirable," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Are you sure that's wise? He's still just a child so-" Arthur began only to have Salme cut him off.

"If I cared for weaklings then I would have left his father alive," Salem said as she looked at Arthur. "If he has any worth at all then he can survive eight years," Salem said as she looked at the male. Arthur sighed hearing this and nodded as the female sat on her throne.

TIMESKIP

Salem sighed as she looked at the few figures in front of her. Arthur had been talking about what he the best course of action would be. However as he did Salem suddenly remembered something. "Arthur what day is it?" Salem asked as she looked at the male in front of her.

Arthur was a bit surprised hearing this and looked at the female as he answered. "It's Wednesday the twenty first," Arthur said as he looked at the female in front of him. Salem nodded hearing this and stood up. "I'll be back, I expect you to have come to a decision by the time I return," Salem said as she walked out of the room.

Arthur was a bit confused to hear this and turned to look at the young figures in front of him. "So as I was saying," Arthur said as he looked at the two in front of him. He planned to continue what he had been saying hoping that the two in front of him would understand what he's saying.

However unknown to the male the female that he had been talking to just moments ago was walking down the halls of the building she lived in. She continued until she finally left the building and began to walk through the woods that were around her palace.

Salem continued to walk until she arrived at the island that she had been at so many years ago. When she arrived she noticed several stares at her some from fear and some from disgust. Salem was able to easily cast these stares aside and continued down the streets of the island.

She continued to look until she noticed a small figure down a small alleyway. His clothes were torn and it was clear that he was malnourished. He had pure white hair and bright vivid purple eyes. Salem slowly walked up to the child and stood in front of him in silence waiting for him to acknowledge her.

After a few minutes passed the small child looked up to see her staring at him and was admittedly concerned at first seeing the female and her unusual appearance. "It's been a long time hasn't it," The female said as she looked at the male in front of her.

The young male was confused hearing this and Salem looked at him. "I don't blame you for not remembering me. The last time you saw me you had just been born after all," The female said as she looked at the male in front of her.

The male looked up at her more than curious about what she was talking about and Salem sighed. "Come now, I'm sure even a child such as yourself can figure out what I'm talking about," Salem said as she looked at the child in front of her. The two then entered an awkward silence until the child finally began to speak.

"Are . . . are you my-" The child begun timidly not being able to bring himself to ask the question that he wanted to. Salem nodded hearing and looked at the child in front of her deciding to answer his question.

"That's right, I'm you mother," The female said as she looked at the male in front of her. The child smiled slightly hearing this and a small amount of tears began to build up in his eyes. King went to hug the female but when he did Salem moved to the side and looked at him. "I didn't come here for you to become a useless sniveling child. I came here to make you an offer," Salem said as she looked at the young male in front of her.

When she did the male looked up at her confused. "I can indeed take you away from this place. However I don't want any useless subordinates. So I want you to prove that you can be useful to me," The female said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Of course!" The child said eagerly as she looked at elderly female in front of him. "Anything! Tell me and I'll do it!" The child said as he looked at this mother ready for whatever task she had in mind for him. Salem smiled hearing this and looked at the child.

"I want you to kill someone," the female said as she looked at the male in front of her. The child was taken back hearing this and stared at his mother with a look of disbelief hearing this. She wanted him to take someone's life. "Of course I know what a big task this is," Salem began as she looked at the child.

"So I'll give you enough time to think the matter over," Salem said as she turned away from the male. "I'll return in a week, and you'll have hopefully made your choice," the female said as she began to walk away only stopping to give her son one final glance. "Of course that being said this is only my own personal proposal and not an order. So use your judgement to decide what won't hurt you," Salem said as she began to walk away from the male.

When she did the child watched as she walked away and thought about what she had said. She could take him to a place where all this pain and cruelty could finally end but he'd have to take someone's life in return. The child looked at the figure in front of him one last time before she faded from his sight before he made his decision.

Salem continued down the path she had taken so that she could return to her palace. She knew it would take her a few days to return so this didn't bother her. When she arrived at the building she saw several people looking at her concerned. "There you are? Did you have a pleasant journey my goddess?" A male asked as he looked at the female in front of him.

The other then made his presence known as he walked out of one of the several rooms in the palace. A young male with gray hair and gray eyes, who was one of two males that Salem had found recently. "I'm fine Tyrian," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her. The male nodded hearing this and stepped aside allowing the female to walk past him.

Salem then walked to the small room that she usually met others in and saw a male with black hair and yellow eyes. The other male that she had recently found. He seemed to be a bit older than Ark yet if Salem were to be honest she didn't care as long as he got the desired results.

Salem then walked to her throne and sat down and once again listened to the several figures in front of her argue about what they thought they should do next. Despite the two new additions seeming rather calm at times they would rapidly argue with and oppose Arthur's ideas and try to point out any flaws that it might have had.

Salem listened to three argue for several hours listening to every idea that the three offered however despite what the three thought none of them sounded decent to her. Like Arthur kept suggesting she knew she had to be cautious as her enemies were more than formidable and she knew they would eventually overthrow her if she wasn't careful.

However like Tyrian and Ark kept suggesting she knew that they needed to take action and make sure that their position was clear. While not many knew of her existence those that did were trying to stop her and she wanted to be clear that she wasn't someone to be trifled with.

After several hours hour had passed and even more ideas Salem once again stood up from her throne and looked at the three in front of her. "Ark, I want you to go and find the child Arthur keeps talking about. I believe he said her name was Cinder, make sure she knows her position before you allow her to join and if she refuses you know what to do," The female said as she looked at the male.

Ark nodded hearing this and Salem turned her attention to the other two males in front of her. "Tyrian you can use you energy on locating Dermot, and Arthur you can locate Malthus for us," She said looking at the three in front of her. When she said this the three stood up and nodded before they walked out of the building.

Salem let out a relieved sigh seeing them listen her and looked out the window to notice that the sun was beginning to raise. Salem then also walked out of the building she had been staying in and began to make her way back to the town she had come from the day before.

As she did she heard a low rumbling sound that progressively got louder. Salem then turned towards the sound to see a few airships heading in the direction she had been walking to. Salem disregarded this and continued towards the island.

When she arrived she saw several armed huntsmen standing around the male pointing their weapons at him as well as the ships that she had seen floating above him. He was standing in the middle of a large creator.

All the huntsmen were staring at the child nervous and the ships seemed be trying to keep their distance from him. Salem more than intrigued by what she saw decided to stay out of sight and looked at the male in front of her.

All the huntsmen that had been surrounding him then began to shoot at him with all the bullets stopping before it could reach him and being sent back towards the huntsmen that had shot it at him. The child looked up seeing this and saw that the airships also seemed to be reading their weapons as well.

As the child looked at one of the ships it suddenly shattered and the people that had been inside looked at the ground alarmed as they began to fall towards it. However before they could the metal shards from the ship were all sent towards them impaling them and killing them before they touched the ground.

One of the ships then fired an energy beam from one of their several guns only for the beam to collapse in on itself before it reached the male. When it did the child turned to look at this ship and it was cut perfectly in half causing a large explosion from the machine as it came crashing to the ground.

Salem smiled seeing this, not only had he decided to kill so that he could go with her but by the looks of it he had no trouble killing these others either. Salem then walked towards the male and looked at him, when the child spotted the male he smiled slightly before it faded hoping this would be enough to please the female.

"That's very good, however you only had to kill one person to be accepted. Of course," Salem began seeing the carnage that he had left behind. "I'm not complaining that you killed more than one person," Salem said as she looked at the young male in front of her.

"Now take care of the other ships and we can go home," Salem said looking at the young male in front of her causing the young male to smile and nod. He then turned to the other ships that were around them and like before they were each cut perfectly in half before an explosion followed the large machine as it crashed into the ground.

Salem smiled seeing this and pet the male's head. "Very good, now let's go home," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her. "I think this goes without saying, but if you want to be with me then you'll need to follow my plans for the future," Salem said as she looked at child. "Understood?" Salem asked as she looked at the male causing him to nod.

"Now if you don't mind me asking, what do you go by?" Salem asked as she looked at the male next to her.

"I-I don't have a name," The child said timidly as he looked up at his mother. Salem looked at him hearing this and he continued to explain himself. "My mom . . . I-I mean you left before I could get one," the male said looking at Salem.

"But if you need one the villagers seemed to be fairly fond of the terms demon and freak," the male said as he looked at Salem. When he said this Salem sighed and looked at the child next to her.

"If that's the case, then I think it's only fitting that I give you a proper name," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her causing the male to smile. "Before I decided to leave you on this island, I had thought about naming you King in the hopes you would become strong and skilled just as a king is expected to be," Salem said as she looked at the male next to her.

The male looked down unsure of what to say hearing this. "King," The male said as he seemed to repeat his own name. "I like it," King said as he looked up at the female next to him causing him to smile.

"I had a feeling you would," Salem said as she began to walk back to the palace she stayed in. When she arrived she noticed that it was almost completely empty and turned to looked at her son. "Now follow me," Salem said as she walked up to a creature that King didn't recognize.

"Hold out you hand," Salem said as she looked at the child. When she this King held put his hand and watched as a needle appeared from the creature and slowly made it's way towards his arm. Out of instinct as soon as the creature got close it was pushed away and King looked at it.

"Let it take some of your blood, it's for a plan that I have," Salem said as she looked at the male. When she said this the male nodded and once again held out his arm and the creature once again began to get closer to him. However unlike last time the creature was not stopped and was not pushed away from the male and stuck it's needle-like appendage into his arm and began to drain him of blood.

The male felt dizzy after it had and fell back as he looked up at his mother. "Get up, there's still so much we need to do," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her causing him to nod and slowly stand up.

TIMESKIP

Salem was once again sitting on her throne listening to several ideas that her subordinates were suggesting and like usual none of them seemed to be anything worth trying out. She then noticed that one of her usual participates were missing.

"Where's King?" Salem asked as she looked at the five figures in front of her. King was usually quiet at these meeting not saying anything so the fact he was missing was easily overlooked for his mother.

"He's training with Tyrian," Dermot said as he looked at Salem. When he said this Salem stood up and began to walk away.

"I'll be back, continue to discuss ideas about what we should do next," Salem said as she walked out of the room and began to make her way towards the room that everyone used for training.

When she opened the door she saw Tyrian moving and trying to avoid a scythe that was floating towards him while King stared at the male in front of him. The scythe then began to spin at an incredible speed and was sent towards Tyrian. The male seemed concerned seeing this and continued to move and dodge the scythe that was coming towards him.

Salem watched as the two continued to fight. She wasn't sure why they were fighting in the first place but Salem assumed it was so they could sharpen each others skills. However if that truly was the case then it would have probably been more effective to have King fight without using his semblance.

The scythe then crashed into one of Tyrian's wrist-blades shattering them and sending the male into the wall. King then disappeared and reappeared in front of the male. "That wasn't fair King, I said-" Tyrian began only for King to kick him in the face.

When he did a tooth was sent out of Tyrian's mouth and King looked down at the male. "Shut up, nobody likes a crybaby," King said as his scythe began to move towards him and Tyrian suddenly found himself being pushed towards the ground.

Knowing what King was doing and what he had in mind the male began to struggle in an attempt to get up and King sighed as he looked at the male. "And stop moving so much," King said as he slowly moved the blade to Tyrian's shoulder. "Or it'll get messy when I slice into you," King said as he looked at the male in front of him.

"King don't cut off his arm, we need him to be at his best for when he fights. Cutting off his arm will do nothing but hinder him in the future," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her. King sighed hearing this and the male took his scythe away from the male beneath him.

"As you wish mother," King said as his scythe once again began to float and move towards the direction it had come from.

"I see that you're starting to favor the scythe," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"It's easier to control with my semblance, and when I swing it, it's harder to stop," King said as he looked at the female in front of him. Salem nodded hearing this and looked down at Tyrian. "As I said, despite how he looks he's more than capable of defending himself in battle," Salem said as she began to walk away.

"I hope he didn't injure you to badly, because you two will be training like this everyday from now on," Salem said as she once again turned her attention to her son. "Now King follow me there's something I'd like to show you," The female said looking at him.

When she said this King nodded and followed the female out of the room they were in and into the halls. As they continued King noticed that they were beginning to walk to a room that King had never been in before.

Salem then opened the door and walked into the room with King following behind her. When he did he saw several pods that looked to be of Grimm origin and looked at his mother in confusion. "Do you remember that Grimm that took your blood?" Salem asked as she looked at her son causing him to nod.

"Well this is the result of that, it created clone of you," Salem said as she looked at the thousands of pods in front of her. "Fifty thousand, five to be exact," Salem said as she turned to look at King. "They're not ready yet, but when they are I have a plan for you," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her.

King looked at her hearing this waiting to hear the female's plan. "When they're ready I want you to fight and kill all of them," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her. King was shocked to hear this and she looked at him. "You will be fighting them one on one however when one is terminated their memories will be passed on to the other clones making them harder to defeat. The final few may prove quiet difficult to defeat," Salem said as she looked at the male.

"But enough of that," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her. "I'll explain more of that when the time comes," Salem said as she walked out of the room with King taking one last look at the pods before he also began to walk out of the room. When he did his mother looked down at the male in front of him. "For now there's something I want you to do," Salem said as she looked at the male in front of her.
