It was too late. The spell hit Janet and she yelled. Jace tried running towards her but he couldn't move and I knew a spell had been bound on the both of them.

Soon the spell stopped hurting Janet and she started panting, holding her side. They both looked terrible. They had bags under their eyes and blood on their shirts. I prayed to God that the blood wasn't theirs.

I run towards Janet and reached out to touch her. As soon as I make contact with her hands, I'm thrown backwards and slam against the wall.

"Mickey. Mickey, are you ok?" I heard Gomin call out. Chase got to me first.

"I'm fine." I replied as Chase helped me up.

I looked towards Jared. "Why? Why would you bring them here?"

King Jared smiled. "Because I need twins to control the world."

At this, I frowned. "You already had twins and it didn't work for you?! And they're humans. They are weak"

"Mickey what's going on?" Jace demanded. I looked towards him and I could see the fear in his eyes.

"I'm so sorry Jace. I'll get you both out of here." I promised.

"Where are we? What are these people? What are you?" Janet asked, her eyes wide open.

King Jared chuckled. "They are so clueless."

"Let them go." Gomin demanded, weapon by his side.

"But I need them." Jared replied.

"No you don't! Please just let them go." I plead.

King Jared shook his head. "Mickey, do you know why it didn't work on Kasey and Kasdar?"

I stared at him and he continued. "Because they aren't human."

I didn't know what to say. How can he think that he needs human twins?

"Mickey, when you tore that piece of paper from the book, you didn't rip the whole page right?"

I carefully nod, not knowing where this was going.

"Well," king Jared started as he opened The Older Twin and ripped out a smaller piece of paper. "Read this." Two pieces of paper flew towards me.

The first was the paper I tore. The one explaining how to control the world. The second one is smaller. And it had only two words.

On the first paper, it ends saying;

You need twins,

And on the second;

human twins.

I looked at the two words over and over again. I felt my blood turn cold as I realized what was going on.

I threw the paper and I aimed at King Jared, muttering a spell.

King Jared, expecting the spell, blocked it and raised his hands and blasted me.

I managed to avoid the spell and soon, all hell broke loose.

I tried to keep my eye on Jared but it was difficult as many people were fighting. I spotted Gomin and Kameron back to back fighting against Damtals. I saw Chase on his own, fending off anyone that came towards him.

We were out numbered.

I saw Cole making his way towards Jace and Janet and I ran towards them.

"Don't get anywhere near them." I threatened Cole, stepping in front of Jace and Janet.

"Mickey, what's happening?" Janet asked with panic.

"You really think I would hurt them?" Cole asked.

"Why can't I touch them?" I demanded.

"Because a spell was put on them."

"How do I undo it?"

Cole scoffed. "Like I would tell you."

"Tell. Me. Now."

Cole shook his head. "Mickey, you are so oblivious."

At this I frowned.

"You trust too easily." Without warning, he managed to stand right in front of me, his nose almost touching mine.

"And if I were you I would be careful what spells I use."

Confused, I opened my mouth to ask him a question but before I could say anything, I spotted Jared aiming towards Chase who had his back to him.

I pushed Cole out of my way and muttered a spell. Jared's spell went straight to Chase but it did nothing as it bounced off my wall that I put up to protect Chase at the last minute

Frustrated, Jared looks towards me. "You will lose this battle. Tell them to stop resisting or I will be forced to kill them."

I looked towards Kameron and Gomin who were both struggling, a knife held at their throats, trying to break free.

"Stop fighting." I tell them both out of fear. They both stop and look at me, panting.

Before I could tell Chase to stop as well, a Malign came behind him and knocked him out. Chase fell like a sack of potatoes.

I started running towards him but Jared stopped me. "One move and Gomin is dead."

I stop in my tracks. "Why are you doing this?"

King Jared smiled. "I'm bored."

And I wanted to kill him.

"Mickey, give up. There is nothin you can do. The spell is already at work."

My eyes went wide. "What do you mean it's at work?" I demanded.

"The spell takes 24 hours to start working. I've already put it on them."

I felt my world slowly falling apart. "You did not." I replied.

He smirked. "I did."

I felt tears starting to come. We failed. I failed.

I looked at my siblings. The look of fear and terror would always haunt me. And soon them, along with everyone else would be under Jared's control. And I can't stop it.

"Don't cry. There's nothing you can do. No spell to undo what has been done." Jared said.

That's when it hit me. Jemins spell.

I looked at Gomin and Kameron.

"I'm sorry." I said.

"Mickey, why are you apologizing?" Gomin asked, a hint of worry and fear in his voice.

I can undo it. If I manage to survive.

Closing my eyes, I start muttering the spell I memorized. Jemin said that if the worst happened and we failed, then this spell would save us.

But I might die.

"What is she doing?" I heard Jared ask, worried. "Cole stop her."

But it was too late. I felt myself slowly lifting. Suddenly the wind picked up until it was so powerful that everything was lifted off the floor.

I could hear everyone panicking around me but I stayed focus. I couldn't be distracted.

As my hair wiped around, I felt myself grow weak. But I wasn't half way through the spell. Curling my hands, I continued.

I heard Gomin yell my name. "Mickey! Stop. Stop it. You're dying!"

I ignored him and went on. I felt my nose bleed and my hands start to shake.

I had to finish the spell. I managed to get to the last two lines and I knew I couldn't do it. I felt my energy draining.

"Mickey! Mickey! Stop it. What are you doing? Please no!"

I could hear Janet and Jace yelling. And that's all I needed. I had to finish the spell. No matter if I died or not.

As soon as I spoke the last word, everything stopped. Everything that went airborne started to fall. And at last I started to fall.

Before I hit the ground, Gomim caught me.

"Oh my gosh. What were you thinking Mickey!"

I coughed and blood came out. "I did it."

"Mickey, stay with me." Gomin said, panic visible in his eyes.

"I did it." I repeated, closing my eyes.

"No. No don't you dare die on me. Don't you dare close your eyes. Open them! Open them!" Gomin yells, shaking my shoulders.

"Gomin. Please let go."

"No. Don't tell me to let go. I can't please. I need you."

"No. I mean let go, you're hurting me."

"Oh." He said, letting go of my shoulders.

"I'm not going to die. Who else will make you go shopping." I said, with a small smile.

Gomin hugs me. "Don't ever do that again, you hear me. We are going to have a long discussion as to why you didn't tell me about this spell but for now I'm just glad your alive."

"I am too." I replied.

"Ummm I'm sorry to ruin your moment but Mickey, you need to see this." Kameron said

I looked towards where he was pointing.

"What the...."Gomin starts.

Jace and Janet are surrounded with a black and blue color and start to slowly rise up.

"Is that supposed to happen?" Kameron asked me.

I shake my head, confused. "I..I don't think so."

As soon as the twins stop rising, they arc their backs and open their eyes which turn a white color. They open their mouths but instead of yelling, a red color comes out and it spreads all around the room.

I watch, frozen with shock. I hear someone laughing and I turn to see Jared, a look of pure success on his face and that's when I knew something was terribly wrong.

I look back up at the twins. They close their mouths and their eyes are shut. Out of nowhere, a human sized cage appears and they are put inside. The cage descends and as soon as it touches the ground, Jace and Janet collapse.

I ran towards them but Jared stops me. He stands in front of them, hands aimed at me.

"Thank you Mickey. I couldn't have done it without you." He said.

"What are you talking about? What just happened?" I asked.

"Mickey, you did the spell."

"Exactly. Which means I erased the spell you put on them. You can't control the world."

Jared shook his head and started laughing. "You have no idea what you're talking about. Mickey, I never put the spell on them. It would kill me. Only someone that has the power of two great magical beings can do it without dying. And you just did."

I look at Kameron and Gomin who look shocked and scared.

"But-I didn't....no-I. That's not the spell." I said, completely confused.

"Mickey the spell you just did, that's not the spell to stop it. That's the spell to start it. In 24 hours, I can control the world."

I shake my head. "Wait even if I did the spell, then that means I can control them."

Jared chuckled. "That's where you're wrong. I'm the one who captured them making them mine Mickey."

I stood their, dumbfounded. The dread slowly creeping all over my body did little to keep me from panicking.

"But Jemin taught me the spell. Jemin said that it would st...." But I stopped talking before I finished my sentence.

And it all made sense. Jemin wasn't captured. Jemin was never on our side.

"He betrayed us." I whispered. I looked at Cole. "That's what you meant when you said I trust too easily." I frowned.

"Wait. Why did you warn m-" before I could finish my sentence, Cole interrupted me.

"Mickey you lost. Now thanks to you my father can control the world." He said with a smirk. But it wasn't his usual smirk. Something felt....off.

"I have no use for you now. It was great knowing you." And without any warning, Jared fired a spell and I didn't have any time to defend myself. I put my hands up in hopes that it wouldn't hurt that much and closed my eyes.

I heard someone yell my name. I waited for the pain. But it never came. Confused, I slowly opened my eyes.

"No no no no no." I started yelling, shocked. Gomin was on the floor, clenching his side. He was bleeding. He took the hit.

"Gomin. Oh my gosh why would you do that you foolish boy." I said as I fall by his side trying to heal him.

"Mickey. Watch out." I heard Kameron yell. I didn't need to look up. I put a shield in front of us and the spell bounced off it.

I looked at Kameron. "Grab Chase."

He understood and quickly tackled the guy who was standing behind Chase. Kameron knocked him out cold and quickly heaved Chase and dragged him towards me and Gomin.

"Stop them." King Jared demanded. But I had already put a shield around all four of us. Kameron quickly reached me.

I grabbed his hands and Gomins neck. I placed Chase's hand on my leg and I closed my eyes.

Maybe it was the anger or the worry. Or maybe I just had enough of failing. Whatever it was, I managed to do it.

I opened my eyes and stared into my moms shocked face. I smiled at her.

Then everything went dark
