Chapter 29: Capturing And Stabbing
At a young age I was taught never to hate someone. Everyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance. And I've always lived by that principal. But not this time.
I hated Robby. And I would never give him a second chance.
Sitting in the cell that Cole escorted me too, I thought about how horrible he looked. He had become very skinny and he had dark circles under his eyes. He started growing a beard and it was unruly and unkept.
I shook my head. I couldn't be distracted, I needed to focus. I checked my watch. 5 minutes to go.
I got up and took my bag off my shoulders and started looking for the book I needed.
I smiled as I took it out and opened it to the page I needed. Closing my eyes, I thought about the magic box and started feeling dizzy. Bitting my lips, I muttered the spell.
As soon as I finished I fell on my knees, breathing hard. After I calmed down, I looked to my side and smiled.
Reaching for the magic box, I gave a little yelp of happiness and opened it. Sitting there, safe and sound was the bracelet.
I checked my watch and saw that it was time. Chase and Kameron should be in place by now.
The plan was simple. I was going to summon the bracelet first because its easier to do the spell on an object. But I had to be very near to the object. Then with the help of the bracelet, I would summon Chase and Kameron who were both in a room somewhere above the cell.
Closing my eyes, I did the spell again and this time it was easier and before I knew it, both Kameron and Chase were standing next to me. I gave them a big smile but stopped when I saw the look on their faces.
"What's wrong?" I asked, suddenly worried.
Chase started breathing hard and out of nowhere, he punched the wall causing me to flinch.
Kamerons eyes looked dangerous as he tried to calm down.
"What's wrong with you two?" I asked again.
"We were in the control room." Chase started. "We heard your conversation with Jared."
"And Robby." Kameron finished, his nose flaring.
"Oh." I didn't know what to say.
Kameron grabbed me by my shoulders and shook me violently. "Why didn't you tell me! Why did you lie and pretend that she chose to be evil? How could you?"
"Kam, you're hurting me." I said as his finger nails started digging into my skin.
"Answer me!" He demanded.
"I wasn't sure." I cried out.
Suddenly Kameron let me go as he fell on the floor. He looked up at Chase, surprised. "Why did you do that?"
"You were hurting her, Kameron. You would have regretted it if you did something bad to her. You're not thinking straight." Chase explained.
Kameron looked up at me, looking guilty. "I'm sorry."
I shook my head. "No I'm sorry. I should have told you but I didn't want to get your hopes high for nothing."
Kameron opened his mouth but was interrupted by the door of the cell opening. Before anyone could do anything, Robby walked in.
And Kameron and Chase attacked. But before they could hurt him, they fell down, holding their noses.
"What the..." I heard Chase say.
"Sorry guys." I replied, putting down the force field.
They both glared at me. "What do you think you're doing! Are you defending him!" Chase demanded.
"Can you guys just stop and think for one second. I'm so sick of this. Of course I'm not defending him. But you kill Robby then Kate is as good as dead!" I yelled at them.
They both looked shocked and opened their mouths to apologize but I stopped them.
"Save it. I don't want an apology." Then I turned towards Robby. "How could you? Why would you? What did you gain from doing that to Kate?"
Robby simply shrugged and gave us a smile. Or a grimace. I couldn't tell.
"Isn't it obvious sister." He said.
I looked at him for a couple of seconds before It dawned on me. "To protect yourself."
Robby nodded. "I knew Kameron would kill me. So I did the only thing that would prevent him from killing me." He said. "Don't look at me like that." He continued after he saw the look of disgust on my face. "I did it to survive and you can't blame me."
Chase shook his head. "What happened to you man?"
"Nothing." Kameron replied. "He was always evil. We just failed to see it."
Before anyone else could say anything, Robby fell down like a sac of potato. We all stared down at him, our mouths wide open and then looked up.
"What? I didn't kill him." Gomin said, holding a frying pan.
I shook my head. "Where did you even get a frying pan?"
Gomin shrugged. "I just found it and I took it since its a great weapon."
Chase walked up to Robby and pocked his. "And who told you that?"
Gomin smirked. "I learnt it from Tangled. That girl can swing a frying pan like nobodies business."
Laughing, I punched Gomin lightly. "Well great timing."
"What do we do with him?" Kameron asked, gesturing towards Robby with a disgusted look on his face.
I smiled. "I have the bracelet. I can do anything." And with that said, I opened my bag, wrote a quick note explaining why Robby was unconscious and telling them not to hurt him at all, I closed my eyes. A minute later, he was no longer with us but in the secret hideout.
"Wow. That was awesome." Gomin said.
"Ya. Now lets get going before anyone else finds us." Chase said.
We quickly got up and made our way to the rest of the cells, looking through each one.
"Where are they?!" Kameron yelled from frustration.
"I don't know." I cried in despair. We were running out of time.
"Can't you use your voodoo magic and track them down?" Gomin asked.
"I guess I could try." I replied. Closing my eyes, I imagined Jemin and Kasey and Tori and Kasdar.
But it was no use. I couldn't find anything.
"I'm sorry guys. I can't find anything."
"It's not your fault. Maybe they aren't even here." Chase said.
"That would suck. We need to find them. Especially Jemin. He knows what to do. And he'll know why the spell didn't work on Kasdar and Kasey." Kameron replied.
I bit my lips. "I think we should go guys. We found the bracelet and that's what matters most right now. And Robby happened to be a bonus."
"Fine lets just...." Chase started but he never got to finish his sentence.
"Now what do we have here." We all look to see Kate standing with a smirk on her face.
"Kate...." Kameron started but Kate interrupted him.
"Save it brother. I don't want to hear it."
It looked like she had physically punched him. The look on his face was a mixture of hurt and shock.
"Kate listen to us. This isn't you. Please." Chase pleaded.
"And you must be the boyfriend." She sneered causing Chase to look away, his face flushing.
"Kate please." Chase said.
She didn't reply.
He slowly started walking towards her. "Chase come back." I said urgently but he ignored me
"Kate I still have hope. Just come with us. We'll break the spell. We'll find away. Please. I can't live without you here." Chase said.
Kate looked at him, frowning. Then she shook her head and took a step back. "Stay away from me."
But Chase didn't listen. He walked right up to her and out of everything he could have done, he decided to hug her.
At first she didn't react, too shocked and then everything went wrong.
Kate grabbed him by his neck and yanked him back. I yelled, trying to put a force field between the two while Kameron and Gomin run to try to get to him. But we were too late.
She took out the knife from underneath her sleeves and plunged it right at his heart.
"No." I cried out, tears in my eyes as Chase fell down on his knees, his eyes wide open.
"No." I whispered.
