Chapter 20: Scary Movies And Younger Kings

As soon as the bell rang singling the end of school, I raced my way to the school parking lot and met Danny, Gomin and Hilary.

"I thought this day would never end." I said as we all piled up in Gomins car.

"Tell me about it! Last period History should be considered a crime." Hilary replied.

"Well today is Friday so that's good." Danny said.

"So girls, you sure you're up for a scary movie?" Gomin teased. "I mean it's going to rain later on and you'll probably get scared."

"How do you know it's going to rain?" I asked, confused.

Danny and Hilary stared at me and Gomin glanced my way before turning his attention back on the road.

"There's this thing called the weather broadcast where they predict how the weather is going to be in the future." Gomin replied, rolling his eyes.

Oh. Well I feel pretty smart now......

Hilary laughed. "Knowing you Mickey, you probably thought it was magic."

The car yanked to a stop and Danny and I stared at Hilary, shocked.

Hilary frowned. "I'm just kidding."

We all looked at each other before giving off a nervous laugh. "Good one." Gomin muttered, starting the car as the cars behind honked.

Five minutes later we stopped at my house. We all piled out of the car and made our way to the living room.

Jace and Janet were staying over at a friends place for the night and my adoptive parents were staying at Gomins place.

"So when should we start the movie?" Gomin asked, taking a seat on the couch.

I glanced at my watch. "It's six-forty five now. Lets have a snack and start at seven."

We all agreed and went to the kitchen. We all ate and talked until it was finally seven.

"Should we order pizza?" Hilary asked.

Danny nodded and went to order.

As always, we cleared the living room by pushing the couches to the far corner of the room. Then we placed a huge mattress the we took from Jace and Janet's room.

They weren't going to be happy.

Finally we got popcorn, sodas, chocolate.

"Wow. And we're planning to have pizza on top of all this? We are too unhealthy." Danny commented.

"We should go to the gym." Hilary said, looking at me.

Then we started laughing. As if we would ever work out. We are probably the most laziest girls on the face of this planet.

The pizza finally came and we started the movie. The boys offered to sit on the edges of the mattress so we wouldn't be scared.

15 minutes into the movie, the boys switched sides with us, making us sit on the edges.

The scene changed as the helpless girl made her way to the closet, hearing some sort of creepy sound coming from inside.

"Don't go in there! Are you mental, run!" Gomin yelled.

"Shhhhh." Hilary demanded.

The girl slowly opened the door. The creepy music playing in the backgrounded stopped as the door opened. Then a loud noise suddenly came and the creepy child demon appeared causing someone to yell. I figured it would be Hilary since it sounded like a girl. But I was surprised to see that it was Danny.

I couldn't help it, I laughed. Gomin had unshed tears in his eyes and was clenching Hilary's arm and placed his head behind her back. Hilary was staring at the TV with horror on her face. Danny was ready to pass out.

After a while, I started to get bored. The movie wasn't even that scary.

"I think we should turn on the lights." Danny whispered.

"Why?"Hilary asked, with a smirk.

"I think Mickey is terrified. For her sake." He replied.

Gomin agreed. "Ya. Danny turn it on."

"Heck no, you do it. I'm not getting up."

"Hilary, you do it." Gomin said.

Hilary shook her head, looking terrified. "No way!"

I laughed. "Guys, lets just finish the movie."

"No. I'll do it." Gomin said, taking a deep breath. He slowly got up.

Then he raced to the place where the switches were. He yelped then turned it on before running back.

Hilary and I laughed until tears rolled down our cheeks. "You guys are such babies!" I said.

"Whatever." Gomin muttered. We placed our attention back on the movie.

Then a scary part came. Truthfully even I started to get scared. I clenched Danny's arms as he covered his eyes with one hand, waiting for the scary demon child to appear.

Then the TV went off and we all screamed. I thought maybe the power went off but the lights were still on. I looked at Gomin to see the remote in his hands.

"Why did you turn it off?" I asked.

"That's enough! We've had enough for today." Gomin replied.

I rolled my eyes. "Seriously?"

"I agree with Gomin. You girls looked ready to pass out." Danny said.

I raised my eye brow. "Really?"

Hilary rolled her eyes and muttered. "Boys."

We all stayed there for ten minutes, without saying a word.

"We're sleeping here, together." Danny commented.

I laughed. "No. Hilary and I are sleeping in my room and you two are sleeping in Jace and Janet's room as always."

Gomin shook his head. "No way I'm sleeping with Danny alone. If the demon child comes, he'll sacrifice me!"

We all looked at Danny, waiting for his reply. He shrugged. "I don't lie. I probably would."

I rolled my eyes. "Nope. We are not sleeping down here. It's cold."

"Ya and where would you guys sleep anyway?" Hilary asked.

"You girls can sleep on the floor." Danny suggested.

I raised my eye brows.

"Or we can. I'm cool with it." Danny shrugged, standing up.

"No." I replied. "You guys are big boys. Sleep on your own."

"We need to protect you guys." Gomin said.

"Nope. We're good."

Hilary nodded. "I'm tired so lets go."

We waved the boys goodbye and raced upstairs to my room. Victory!

Early in the morning I smiled to myself as I saw Hilary asleep on the floor, Danny passed out on my chair and his head resting on my work table and Gomin was sleeping next to Hilary on the floor.

They looked so peaceful. I slowly got up and went to Jace and Janet's room and took out their bullhorn. Why they had one was a mystery to me. Smirking, I made my way back to my room.

"Rise and shine little birdies." I yelled then blew the horn.

They were not happy

**********

"I need Kameron to come and train. Please go get him." Kent said.

I rolled my eyes. "Maybe he's taking a break."

"Mickey, he hasn't been training for the past two weeks." Kent replied, frowning. "I'm worried about him. He's been distant lately."

Biting my lips, I got up from my seat. "I'll go talk to him."

Kent gave me a thumps up before going back to train Gomin.

I made my way to Kamerons room. I knocked on his door but there was no answer. Luckily his door happened to be open so I just walked in.

Kameron was laying down on his bed and staring at something in his hands. I slowly made my way to his bed and slipped in next to him without saying a word.

"Is that the necklace?" I whispered.

He nodded.

"Are you ok?"

Kameron sighed. "I've been better."

I slowly nodded.

"Will the pain ever leave?" He asked after a few minutes of silence

I sighed. "I don't know Kam, but I do know that she wouldn't want us to be like this. She would want us to smile and live our life to the fullest."

Kameron gave me a small smile. "She was so full of life."

This was the first time he talked about her.

"She was also very annoying. Gosh, the amount of pranks she pulled on me and embarrassed me."

I chuckled, thinking back to the first prank I helped her pull.

"I really miss her. Sometimes I wake up and forget that she's gone then reality comes crashing down and I feel like I can't take another day. It's so hard." Kameron said.

We stopped talking after this just staring at the ceiling side by side until we fell asleep.

*********

I was sitting in my room, reading the information I got about The Older Twin, when I heard people laughing from downstairs. Curious and bored, I got up and made my way downstairs.

I entered the living room and was tackled in a hug.

"Can't breath." I managed to say.

The person laughed and released me from the death grip.

"Fany!" I exclaimed with a huge smile.

"I missed you Mickey! How are you?" She asked.

"I'm great! Where's Stark?" I asked, searching the room.

Fany rolled her eyes. "Wow. I feel the love."

I laughed. "Hey, I do love you."

"But not as much as you love me." I turned around to see Stark with a goofy smile on his face.

I raced to him and he gave me a bear hug. Stark was the first friend I made here in The Other World.

"How are you?" He asked after we sat down.

"I'm good. I'm so glad you're here." I said.

Just then Gomin came. "Oh there you are. I was looking for you." He said sitting down next to Fany on the couch.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Just wanted to tell you that Fany and Stark are here." He replied.

I rolled my eyes. "You don't say."

Just then Kasey and Kasdar walked in.

"Hey guys wh-" Kasey started but stopped as soon as she spotted Fany and Stark. "Oh. Hi."

Fany smiled. "Hi there."

I wanted to leave but I couldn't after that talk I had with Kasdar. He was avoiding my eyes.

"Well Fany, Stark, I'm sure you remember Kasey and Kasdar. Tori's niece and nephew." Gomin said.

They all exchanged greeting and Kasey and Kasdar sat down.

"So what brings you guys here?" Gomin asked Fany and Stark.

Stark shrugged. "Felt like visiting."

"Cool." Gomin replied.

A few minutes passed in awkward silence.

"Well this is awkward. And I know it's Mickeys fault, somehow." Stark said bluntly.

Uh, how much I missed his bluntness.

I rolled my eyes and Kasdar said. "Well you're pretty blunt."

"My name literally means blunt." Stark replied.

Kasey chuckled. "Who named you? Your mom or dad?"

At this, another awkward silence fell. We never talk about Starks father, Sam. After he betrayed us, Stark had been bitter and no one ever brings him up.

"Did I say something wrong?" Kasey asked, confused.

Stark shook his head. "It's cool."

Fany pouted. "Hon, can you please get me something to eat?"

Stark laughed, all trace of anger that had appeared at the mention of his dad gone. "We just ate lunch less than an hour ago."

"And?" Fany asked, her eyebrows raised.

Stark sighed. "And I will happily go and get you food."

Fany smiled. "And milkshake?"

"And milkshake." Stark said, getting up and kissing her on the cheeks.

Seeing a chance to leave , I said. "I'll come with you."

"Me too." Gomin said.

We told everyone we'd be back and left.

"Well that was...." Gomin trailed off.

"So Mickey, you going to tell me what's going on between you and the twins?" Stark asked as we walked to the nearest fast good joint.

I shrugged. "Nothing."

Gomin pouted. "She won't even tell me"

"Cause there's nothing to tell." I replied.

It was a nice day but no one was around for some reason. We walked for a few minutes in absolute silence.
I started feeling uncomfortable.

"Guys, where is everyone?" I asked. It was unusually empty.

Suddenly someone bumped into me.
"Sorry." I muttered.

I heard the person laugh. I stood frozen in my place. I knew that laugh. I looked at the person but he was wearing a hoody.

"Do I know you?" I asked. Stark and Gomin had gone ahead because they hadn't noticed that I stopped but came back.

"Aw I'm hurt you don't remember me." The person mocked.

I knew that cockiness anywhere.

"Cole?"

Cole removed his hood and smirked. "So you do remember me."

He looked a little different but I could tell it was him. He changed his hair color to black and it was up in spikes.

I stood there speechless. Gomin and Stark moved in front of me.

"What are you doing here?" Stark demanded.

Cole gave a fake pout. "Is this how you treat an old friend?"

No one replied, not knowing what to do.

Cole rolled his eyes. "I'm actually waiting for father."

"Your dad is here?" Gomin demanded.

Cole rolled his eyes. "That's what I said. Wow Gomin, you just don't get any smarter do you?"

Gomin slowly took out the small object he always carried around. Cole noticed and he smirked.

Then Gomin pressed a small button and it changed into his weapon and he charged.

He didn't get far before Cole stretched out his hand and Gomin was lifted into the air.

"Did you forget that I can do magic?" Cold said with a smirk.

He then snapped his fingers and Gomin flew into the building next to us before falling down on the floor. I winced hearing the loud bang.

Stark raced to check on Gomin while I stood in front of them.

I muttered a spell under my breath and Cole's hair caught on fire. He yelped then it disappeared.

He looked at me and smirked. "So I see you can still do magic."

I didn't bother answering him as I said a spell under my breath. I put up a force field to protect Gomin and Stark who were both standing by my side.

"Gomin, are you ok?" I asked.

Gomin nodded. "I'm fine." He replied, his voice cold.

I turned my attention back to Cole and was surprised to see a man standing next to him.

At first I was confused, not knowing who it was. But then realization washed over me.

King Jared stood in front of me. He's hair was as white as snow which was the reason I was confused. But also the fact that he looked younger.

Now I might not be a genius but I'm sure people aged over time but don't get younger.

King Jared smirked. "Missed me?"
