Author's POV

Nayeon gets her consciousness from her sleep after she hears a sweet lullaby stroking her ear. She slowly opens her eyes and she finds Luhan singing her a soft lullaby. It's so warm around Luhan's embrace and she snuggles to his chest. Because of her sudden move, Luhan stops his lullaby and looks down to Nayeon.

"Did I wake you up?" Luhan whispers and Nayeon nods. Luhan bites his lips because he made a mistake. He woke up really early today and he couldn't move because Nayeon used his arm as her pillow. Firstly he just looked at her and stroked her cheek, but as the time goes by, he feels so bored and starts singing a lullaby. And here, he ended up waking her up.

"Sorry, it's still dawn, back to your sleep" Luhan softly talks to her and suddenly Nayeon smiles to him.

"No, it's okay, I'm not tired anymore" Nayeon speaks back.

"Can you sing me another song?" Nayeon asks Luhan after their long silence. Luhan chuckles and shakes his head. He feels ashame about him singing infront of her, he has no confidence.

"Why? Luhan, I love your voice" Nayeon smiles to him. Her hand strokes his arm gently, giving him a courage.

"Promise me you won't laugh at me" Luhan pouts his lips slightly to Nayeon. She just nods and smiles brightly to Luhan, she feels so lucky to have him.

Luhan stares at his fiance and for a while he doubts himself. But when he sees Nayeon hoping for his voice, he can't help but to sing her a chinese song, tian mi mi. His voice is sweet and gentle, sending goosebumps to Nayeon's skin. Smile always there on Nayeon's face since Luhan starts singing. And she is very sure, that smile will remain all day long.

The combination of Luhan's voice, Luhan's embrace, and Luhan's soft touch on her back, was dramatically romantic in this quiet dawn. Nothing better than this moment. Nayeon feels happy with him, she is happy with Luhan.

The story comes when they have their breakfast together. Nayeon becomes a great listener to Luhan. She witnesses everything: his past, his sadness, his pain, and his disappointment. She also admits her heart broke into pieces when she saw him holding the tears that almost fell.

"I love them so much, that's why I could feel this upset" Luhan ends his story as he looks deep into Nayeon's eyes. Nayeon feels what he feels. She knows how does it feel when her father used her for his own good.

"I know" Nayeon whispers to Luhan and reaches out her hand to hold his hand.

"People said time supposed to heal the scar but in reality time just made us forget about the scar we had" Nayeon talks and Luhan squishes her hand. He feels her sympathy, not her pity.

"I'm glad you didn't force me to forgive them right away, I still need time, thank you" Luhan smiles to Nayeon and kisses the back of her hand.

"And sorry for last night, baby" Luhan continues and Nayeon smiles to him.

"It's okay" This time, Nayeon brings Luhan's hand closer to her lips and kisses the back of his hand repeatedly. The feeling of her soft lips touch his skin always makes his heart fluttering. He smiles so bright and he feels like his scar already being healed.

Nayeon watches the TV with a boring face. She has nothing to do today. Luhan is out for working and she is alone in their apartment. She cancels all her classes due to her physical weakness after the surgery. But everything has changed after she gets a call from Lufei.

"They insisted, they really want to see you for the last time" Lufei talks across the line. Lufei asks Nayeon to come with her, escorting her parents to airport. They're going back to China today.

"But I'm nervous, just talking about them making me nervous" Nayeon bulges her eyes slightly as she feels her heart starts beating so fast.

"Come on, my mom really want to meet you, I'll pick you up at eleven, okay?" Lufei speaks and Nayeon shouts in panic "I'll just drive a taxi, let's meet at the airport, okay?"

"Deal" Lufei laughs really happy because finally Nayeon gives in.

"I'll text you where we would meet, bye, take care" Lufei ends the call and Nayeon sighs in relief.

All inside her head is if Lufei picks her up, that means she will have a longer time spent with Luhan's parents, and the conclusion is she will have a longer time to feel nervous and she doesn't like it. And right now, all she needs to panic about is what should she wear and what should she say when they meet.

Nayeon is the first one who arrives at the airport. She waits at the cafe that Lufei mentioned. She bites at her finger nail because the nervousness eats her up. 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and suddenly they appear infront of her. She stands up and bows at Luhan's parents immediately and they smile to her.

"Sorry for making you wait, traffic jam" Lufei explains to Nayeon.

"I think we need to walk them to their gate now" She continues and Nayeon just nods.

Nayeon just follows them behind, she doesn't know what to do and what to say. She becomes a stupid robot infront of Luhan's parents. She is just really deep into her mind when suddenly she feels an arm linked with hers. She turns her face and her heart beats so fast when she sees Luhan's mother's smile.

"You're so beautiful today" Luhan's mother talks softly and Nayeon just thanks her. She chose the right dress today, a simple white dress. The typical of dress that stands out her innocent image.

"Hopefully I can meet you again as soon as possible" Luhan's mother continues and Nayeon smiles to her.

"I hope so" Nayeon speaks up. They exchange a warm gaze before Lufei informs them they already infront of the gate and the parents need to check in.

"Nayeon" Luhan's mother calls her softly as she takes out her jade ring from her finger. Nayeon's eyes widen as she watches that milky green stone ring slides in to her finger, lay perfectly on her slender finger. She lifts her face and stares at Luhan's mother with disbelief. Moment like this always brings her into a speechless.

"It's a gift for you, because you love Luhan, my son" She talks softly as she holds Nayeon's hand. Luhan's mother smiles softly at Nayeon before she leans in to kiss Nayeon's forehead, to her nose, to both of her cheeks and lastly to her lips. She is really taken aback by Luhan's mother motherly gesture.

"Can you kiss Luhan like I did to you? Can you kiss him in behalf of me?" Luhan's mother's words really break Nayeon's heart. She is very sure that his mother really misses him so much. Nayeon's eyes becomes teary as she looks into Luhan's mother's eyes.

"I will" Nayeon's voice turns into breathy one, she tries hard to hold back her tears.

"Thank you, please tell him that I love him" Luhan's mother pulls Nayeon into her embrace and cries softly. This really touches Nayeon's heart, she starts crying with Luhan's mother. She just hopes Luhan could heal his scar and forgive his parents. She really wants to see his mother hugging Luhan for real. That must becomes the most heart warming moment.

Luhan prepares a private romantic dinner with Nayeon only in a beautiful restaurant's rose garden. He keeps smiling at her because she is smiling at him. Nayeon really surprised because Luhan gave her this romantic dinner where no one could disturb. It's just them and a couple of waiters and the pianist.

"I should dress better" Nayeon talks as they finish the dessert. She now regrets choosing a simple dress because she thought it's just a simple dinner in a simple restaurant.

"You prefectly fine with that" Luhan throws a cheesy line to Nayeon and it makes her chuckling.

"Stop it already" Nayeon glares playfully at Luhan, causing him to laugh at her cuteness.

Luhan didn't talk back to her and he simply walks to her side. Nayeon raises her brow in confused but Luhan just smiles and reaches out his hand to her.

"Can I have a dance?" Luhan asks in a manliest way and Nayeon has an urge to scream, fangirling over him. But she holds it and elegantly takes his hand. Without warning, Luhan pulls her into his embrace and wraps his arms around her waist. The sudden movement makes Nayeon panic and she grips on his arms tightly. Luhan chuckles and glances at her hands.

"Calm babe" Luhan teases her as he takes her hands just to bring them to hug his neck. But when he takes her right hand, he feels something cold on her finger. He looks down to her hand to get a better look. He is so surprised because he finds a familiar jade ring.

"Yeon-ah" Luhan whispers her name and Nayeon looks so scared. She is scared that Luhan will mad at her again.

"I escorted your parents to airport today and your mom gave me this ring" Nayeon explains with her trembling voice. She looks at Luhan's face, trying hard to find any anger on him but nothing. He just stares at the jade ring and suddenly a smile appears on his face.

"Jade stands for beauty and purity, my mom really likes jade" Luhan talks to her with a smileas he remembers some of his past memories now, the good one. In the other side, Nayeon can't believe her sight, Luhan talks about his mom with a smile, no anger or madness drawn on his face.

"Did you know? My mom had two jade rings" Luhan starts his story as he starts swaying his body with Nayeon. Nayeon just keeps silent and sways with Luhan to the music.

"She gave one to Fei jie when she got married, then she said to me, she will give the other one to my future wife" Luhan continues and now she looks down to Nayeon.

"She takes you as her daughter in law" He whispers softly to Nayeon and smiles.

Sure, he still need time to forgive his parents but he also feels happy because his parents take Nayeon as their daughter. That jade ring is a bound to them. In Chinese family, there is a tradition to pass down the jade from mother to daughter. Luhan's mother got those jade rings from both of his grandmothers and now she pass down the jade to her daughter and daughter in law.

"Luhan" Nayeon whispers and stops swaying with Luhan. Luhan stops as well and stares at her. The next moment, Nayeon tiptoes and gives Luhan a kiss on his forehead, to his nose, to both of his cheeks, and lastly to his lips. Luhan's body stiffen as he feels de javu. The kiss is so familiar, the kiss brings back memories, the kiss touches his heart. That was the kiss which Luhan will always miss. The kiss of his mother.

"That was on behalf of your mom" Nayeon whispers softly to Luhan. She watches the change of his stare. His eyes teary but soften at the same time.

"And she loves you Han" Nayeon continues with her cracking voice. Suddenly Luhan pulls her into his embrace and his tears starts falling from his eyes. He realizes, it was a long time ago when he recieved that kind of kiss from his mother. He realizes, how much he misses his mother and his mother's affection. He realizes, all this time he just becomes a loser who hides behind a wall named disappointment.

"Yeon-ah, I love her too" Luhan cries out his feeling and it breaks Nayeon's heart over and over again. The number of his tears falling same as the number of her heart breaking. Without the realization, Nayeon already cries with him, they cry together on each other's embrace, sharing the feeling that only the two of them who could understand.
