In front of you was a seemingly lifeless body covered in blood. You stood there in shock, not knowing what to do. Kakashi rushes to the body, and puts 2 fingers on the neck.
"He's alive" Kakashi says quickly.
You run over and kneel down.
Akane had a huge gash in his lower abdomen. You quickly grab the sheets off of the bed, and cut a decent size of it to use to stop the bleeding. As you start to put the torn sheet around the gash, Akane let's out a pain filled groan. You continue to wrap the sheet around the cut. Akane's eyes start to open and he begins to say in a pain filled voice
"What happened?"
"You've been injured, my Lord. Do you have an recollection of who did this to you?" Kakashi ask him.
While Kakashi and Akane talked, you looked around the room. Something wasn't right. How would of someone gotten in? The windows weren't open, or broken. The door is constantly guarded... wait.. the only way someone would of gotten in was through that door.
You look behind you at the guard that's standing at the door, he was wearing full metal gear. You walk over to him and ask
"What's your name?"
"This is hardly the time to be asking for names miss." He says, almost in a worried tone.
"You're right. I'll just ask you another time" you smiled and went back into the room. Something was off about him, and you had the sneaking suspicion you knew exactly who did this to Akane, but for now, you'll have to keep your mouth shut. Afterall, wrongfully blaming a royal's guard could result in execution.
Medics soon showed up, and went inside Akane's room with the door closed. One of the medics soon came out and told everyone that Akane was still alive for the time being. A sigh of relief was let out in the crowd of guards.
Later that evening everyone met in the dining hall. Akako got everyone's attention and read a note that Lord Akane had written.

"Due to my injuries we are going to have to stay here for another night. We will be heading out tomorrow afternoon, as long as my injuries allow us to. The plan is to leave around 2pm. I expect everyone to be ready to leave by then."

After the dining hall had cleared you noticed he guard from earlier sitting with another guard. You got up from where you were sitting, to head over to him, until Kakashi grabbed your wrist. You looked at him and said
"I'll be right back. That guard over there was acting suspicious earlier, and I want to get his name"
"You know there's better ways of doing that right?" He asks
"Yes, but my way is quicker." You give a cocky smile, and head over there. Once there you sit on the table, looking down on him and his friend.
"So, Now that the chaos has died down. What's your name?" You said in a serious tone.
"Jeez lady, you know there are better ways at asking somebody out right?" He laughed.
"Hah. Real cute. Now answer my question."
"My mom always did tell my I was quite the looker."
"That's it. I'm not dealing with you're stupid games."
You push him off the chair, and immediately pin him up against the wall, with your forearm across his neck.
"I'm going to ask one more time, and lord help you if you don't cooperate."
Kakashi was still at the other table, watching from a distance.
"So?" You implored.
In that same second his friend started to come after you, but you saw it coming and immediately blocked his attack. While keeping this guard pinned to the wall, you kicked his friend's knee out, causing him to fall onto the floor.
"I'm done playing these games. Who in the hell are you?"
"Oh calm down sweet thing, why should we give you our names anyways?" The guy pinned said.
You quickly turn him around where his Face is pinned against the wall, you pull his right arm back, and start to twist.
He yells out in pain.
"I suggest you answer my questions, otherwise you're going to have a broken arm."
"Fine, jeez woman. My name is Ito Takakshi. Happy?" He says panting in pain.
You look over to his friend
"Endo shii"
You released Ito, and turn to leave the dining hall. Ito was on the floor still in pain, but yelled out
"Hey!? Aren't you going to at least tell us your name? Or tell us why you wanted to know our names so bad?" He yelled to you.
"My name is (Y/n). And why I asked in on a need to know basis, and you don't need to know."
You continued walking, and Kakashi joined you.

"So I assume you got their names?" Kakashi asked amused.
"Yep. Ito Takakshi, and Endo Shii"
"And why'd you want their names again?"
"Well I saw Ito standing outside of Akane's room right after the attack. He was acting very nonchalant that his Lord was just stabbed. Then I got to thinking. How could someone get into Akane's room when the windows were locked from the inside, and and the only other entrance was the door, which should be guarded at all times? And on top of that, I didn't recognize Ito or Endo. I haven't seen them at all throughout the trip that I can remember."
"Well, (Y/n) there's about 25 guards on this trip, some of them keep their armor on almost all the time, so it's not surprising we haven't seen all of their faces."
"Yes, I know that."
"Still. Something seems odd with those two."
"Then keep an eye on them, I can help as well."
"Alright, but make sure you don't tell anyone, and don't make it obvious."
"(Y/n) don't forget who the genin is and who the jonin is. I've been doing this for a hell of a lot longer than you, and don't forget who taught YOU everything."
"I know." You laugh
"I guess that was a little cocky of me to say. Guess I'm getting used to being in charge" you tease
"And that's exactly why in the bedroom I have to be the one in control. Can't let you have ALL the power." He said in a sexy teasing voice.
"Oh whatever!" You roll your eyes and laugh.
"Want to go on a walk before bed?"
"Yeah, I'd like that"
You both head outside to go on a short walk. It was nice out, the sun was setting so the air was nice and cool. You guys followed a trail that was behind the hotel.
As you walked on the trail, voices started coming within earshot. You both quietly hid in some small brush. It was dark enough that someone passing wouldn't notice you were there unless you made a noise. The voices got louder, until they were visible. you saw 3 people walking together, it was Ito, Endo, and Ayaka.
"What are they doing up here?" You whispered to Kakashi.
"I don't know, but if you shush, we may learn."
You both sat there listening. You overhead them say
"I think that (Y/n) girl is onto us..." Ito said.
"(Y/n)? No way. She's not bright enough to." Ayaka says smugly.
"Well then explain why she was threatening both me and Ito to tell her our names!"
"I don't know, maybe she was just curious. I've talked to her, there is NO way she's onto us. I'd believe it if it was Kakashi asking, but (Y/n)? No way." Ayaka said this almost laughing.
"Anyways. We shouldn't even be talking. I can't believe you messed this up for me. We almost completed our mission.... but you guys HAD to blow it. Should've seen it coming from a mile away with you to though." She spat at them.
Ito and Endo went quiet.
"What are you both still doing here? Leave already. God you two are dumber than a box of rocks."
They both started to head back , heading your direction. You and Kakashi held your breath as they passed. Preying they wouldn't see, or hear you. Moments later Ayaka followed behind.
After waiting a few minutes, to make sure the coast was clear, you and Kakashi got out of the bushes and looked at each other worriedly.
"Well what do we do now?" You asked Kakashi
"Well, unfortunately we can't do anything. We have 0 proof of anything we just heard, AND what we just heard confirms nothing. All we know is that they're up to something, but we don't know what."
"What do you mean??" You exclaimed
"Did you hear them once actually say ANYTHING about Akane?"
"No... not directly..."
"Exactly. We have zero proof, and if we tell Akane, and he thinks we're lying... we'll both be executed."
"Ughhh then what do we do?"
"Well we're just going to have to be watchful and careful over them."
"Okay."
"Let's head back now" Kakashi grabs your hand and leads you back towards the hotel. As the end of the trail came into view, you see someone waiting there. It was Ayaka.
"Hey guys! Where are you guys coming from?" She smiles and asks.
"Oh we just got back from walking on the trail." You give a bitchy smile back at her.
"How was it? I've heard that trail has beautiful views!"
"Yeah it really does. You should try it sometime." You tilt your head and smile.
"Did you guys see or hear anything peculiar? Or see anyone else on the trails?" She asked.
"No we didn't, it was nice to have some alone time away from everyone else" Kakashi said.
"Ah.. was just checking. I figured whomever hurt Akane, that'd be a great place for them to hide."
"Well sorry to disappoint, but it was only us. Don't worry we'll find whomever did this." Kakashi says confidently.
"We sure will. Well I'll let you too go. Have fun!" She says, almost too cheerfully.
You and Kakashi walk close together past her at a decent pace. You get to your room, and close/lock the door behind you.
"Well shit. What do we do now??"
"Well, it's not clear if she thinks we're into her or not. We'll just need to be VERY careful from now on."
"Agreed."
"We should go to bed. It's starting to get late."
You both climb into the bed, and you rest your head on his chest. Soon you both drift off to sleep.
