It was one of Vivian's famous Friday Night Sleepovers. She sat in fuzzy cheetah print shorts and a black tank top. Maura sat in her usual spot, next to Vivian, with her black hair in a bun. They all were in a circle, which was full of 5 girls wearing floppy slippers.
"So, Vivian, what's going on with you and Adam?" Said Izzy, who was on the Track Team with Vivian.
"You're kidding, right?" Vivian said, and looked around the circle.
"You guys must be madly in love." Said Annie, who was Vivian's cousin, making a kissy face.
"Gross!" Vivian shouted and threw her pillow at Annie.
"But you guys sit next to each other in History, and the way he looks at you, it's so adorable." Izzy said with dreamy eyes.
"Shut up guys. Can't we talk about something else?" Vivian said and crossed her arms.
"Okay..." Izzy said, and brainstormed the next conversation topic. "Let's talk about prom."
"Ughhhh." Vivian moaned.
"Maura, aren't you going with someone?"
"Caleb." Maura said, not looking up from her phone.
"Caleb?!" Annie and Izzy shouted at the same time. Maura slowly nodded her head and smiled.
"You should see his six pack." Annie said.
"Believe me, I've seen it." Maura said, making all the girls jealous.
"You've seen him shirtless?" Izzy gasped.
"Oh my gosh. I am so tired of talking about boys." Vivian said.
Izzy adjusted her pink under armor headband, and pulled out a DVD.
"I brought a movie." Izzy said, and held the DVD up proudly.
"I can make popcorn!" Renee said.  Renee wasn't  Vivian's friend, or anyone's friend, but they all loved to invite her because she always brought food with her. 
"I brought tissues too, this movie is supposed to be super sad." Izzy said and pulled tissues out of her bag.

About an hour later, the girls were crying hysterically.  The tissue box had run out and they started wiping their eyes with Vivian's blanket.  Annie was crying into the popcorn bowl, which was empty. They were all on Vivian's bed crying into each other's shoulders while Maura was asleep on the floor.
"He. left. her!" Annie said between sobs. 

All the sudden, Maura's phone started ringing.

"When you think happiness, I hope you think that little black dress" Her phone sang.

Maura jolted awake. She squinted her eyes, trying to read the number on her phone.
"No Caller ID, that's weird." Maura said. She looked at Vivian.
"Viv, should I answer it?" Maura asked. Vivian kept crying.
"Whatever." Maura said, and shrugged her shoulders.

"Hello?"
"Yes, this is Maura."
"Oh, cool."
"Thanks."
"Yeah, see you later."

Maura shut her phone, and looked around at the girls.  She was a little light headed from waking up so abruptly.
"Viv, good news, I got the job!" Maura said.
Vivian smiled, tears still running down her face, and hugged Maura. At the moment, she was too upset about the movie to notice she didn't get a phone call.
Annie, Izzy, and Renee, were still sobbing, completely ignoring Maura.  Maura stared at them, wondering why they were sobbing after she just told them good news.
"You guys okay?" She asked, raising her eyebrows.
"NO!" Shouted Annie, who kept sobbing.
"It's so sad!" Izzy cried, which made the girls cry even harder.

"Long live the walls we crashed threw, this is the time of our lives-"

Now Vivian's phone started ringing.  She stared at it, and quickly wiped the tears off her face.
"Viv, answer it!" Maura shouted and threw Vivian's phone at her.
"Okay, breathe, Vivian, breathe." Vivian said, and pressed the green button.

"Hello?"
"Hi Ed, how are you?"
"That's good.  Yes, this is Vivian."
"Oh, that's great news, I'm so excited to work for you."
"Sounds good, I'll be there."
"Thanks again, sir!"

"And....?" Maura said impatiently.

"I got the job!" Vivian said, and hugged her friend.
"What's going on?" Annie asked, her sobbing was now a soft cry.
"Oh, Viv and I got jobs at The Candy Shop in the mall." Maura said, like it was no big deal.
"I am very happy for both of you." Said Renee, who was one of those people who always said the perfect thing at the perfect time. It was like she had programmed answers for every situation.
"Seriously? That place?" Izzy said, her mouth wide open.
"Yeah..." Vivian said.
"Some of my friends have there. All I'm gonna say is-" Izzy began to say.
"What?" Vivian interrupted, wanting her to get to the point.

"Watch your back."
