I'll be honest, I wasn't really listening to his explanation. I was to busy doodling to care plus he'd just explain it again when we actually start the project. You know since the first day is getting settled and all.

"Alright class. Now, since it's the first day, I want to see what you are able to do with the skills you currently have and without any limitations."

I shot my head up when Mr. Boston said this. "Do teachers normally do this? " I whispered to Robyn who was sitting next to me.

"I've never heard of it before. Maybe he's switching things up?" She suggested.

I shrugged and turned my attention back the Mr. Boston as he cleared his throat, glaring at us. We both sat quiet and he continued.

"You can use any supplys you desire to use. The only thing I ask is that it's on paper or is physical in some way. So im sorry to those of you who prefer digital but, since this class won't be doing any digital work I'm going to have to ask this of you." He clapped his hands together. "Now, you may all being to work now."

There seemed to be mixed emotions about this task throughout the class.
Some excitedly rushed off to grab supplies whiles others seemed bothered and on edge by the task. Almost like they needed structure.

Never the less I took a folder out of my bag which had my drawing paper in it along with my sketch book. The sketch book is full of random doodles and plans for actual pieces I'd been working on at the time. I took out my pencil and startes brainstorming ideas for what to do.

As I did this, Robyn pulled out her own sketch book. It was a Illo Sketchbook with a self drawn cover. The drawing appeared to be a girl looking down with her eyes closed wearing a rose flower crown. She opened it to a blank page and started doodling. Deciding not to disrupt her, I went back to my own book.

After working my idea out a bit I seddled on a black rabbit in front of a skull candle. I moved on to the blank page next to my ideas and tried to fully flesh out my idea.

Robyn began leaning over my shoulder a bit, seemingly trying to see what I was doing. I tilted the book so she could see the beginning of my fleshed out idea.

"Oooooo, is that what your doing for the project?" She asked.
I nodded to her. "What are you doing for it?"
She shrugged. "I don't really know yet. I've just been doodling to pass the time since there's no point in just sitting if I don't know what I'm doing. I figure an idea will come to me eventually. " She passed over her sketch book and showed me her doodles.

Her style was a lot different from mine, but I found it really cute and fitting for her personality. Granted, I don't know much about her and I haven't known her for long but, she just seems like a really open person so her personality isn't that hard to read.

"Who's that?" I looked over the drawing some more. 'I know I've seen her some where before' I thought to myself not being able to put a name to the face.

"It's Spinel from the Steven Universe movie! Of course that's not necessarily her actual design but I really like her character." She smiled and looked down at the drawings.

"Ohhhhhh, that's where I know her from. I haven't seen the movie but I've watched a lot of the actual show. When I heard it was getting a movie I had mixed feelings about it and never really went pass the art for it."

"I can understand that, sometimes the movie of a loved franchise doesn't always live up to the original show. It was really good though! Well in my opinion, so if your still thinking about watching it you should definitely pick it up at some point!" She smiled brightly.

I nodded to her and passed her sketch book back over. As one did so she smiled and went back to doodling and I went back to my drawing as well.

Silence fell back in between us. It wasnt the kind of silence you'd find awkward though, it was comfortable in a way. I enjoyed it as the rest of class went by.
