Chapter Six

"A strange ship approaching the harbor, Lord Jackson." A messenger boy told Jackson. Flynn, a Genovesan assassin glanced his way when he heard the message as well.

"Strange ship? The only strange ships that have ever traveled this far were Skandians." Flynn told Jackson. Jackson rose an eyebrow.

"Well then they're not here for Lynn, she serves in Araluen with her master." Jackson said. Flynn bit his lip.

"Queen Cassandra and King Horace allies with Oberjarl Erak." Flynn said. Jackson eyes flashed with anger and he left quickly, heading towards the dungeon. Lynn was curled up in a ball sleeping, and her arms had blood trailing down them from the shackles. Jackson hit the bars of her cell to wake her up and she jumped at the sound.

"Where do you serve? Who would be willing to rescue an apprentice?" He asked forcefully. She shrunk back in her cell and bit her lip.

"There are a few friends that would be willing." She said. He opened the cell and grabbed her by her collar, jerking her up to her feet.

"Are any of them Skandian?" He asked in a dangerously low voice. Their faces were so close their noses were almost touching.

"All of them are." She said.

"Guys, I see land!" Boyd yelled. They all rushed to the edge of the bow and they all noticed the stretch of land ahead of them pass the fog. Will came over too them with his pack at hand and pulled out three dark cloaks.

"MJ, Willy, come with me." He said. He brought them back to the stern of the ship and handed them each a cloak. Up close, Willy finally noticed the purple tint to the fabric.

"Where did you get these?" MJ asked his former mentor bitterly.

"I had Jenny make them for me. She dyed the fabric the same colour as the piece of Genovesan cloak we found on the bushel." He explained.

"Why are you giving these to us?" Willy asked.

"We're going to find Lynn, and us three are the only ones on this ship with dark hair. Blond hair is not common in these parts, so people would get suspicious." Will explained. He and MJ took off their traditional Rangers cloaks and tied the purple ones around their necks. Willy followed their examples.

"What about weapons? Genovesans do not use long bows." MJ asked gesturing too his long bow that sitting by his pack.

"I talked to Horace about that, and he gave me three cross bows. They are easy enough to use, and they are familiar among Genovesans." He told his grandsons. He retrieved three cross bows and gave Willy some arrows. He was used to the cross bow since his uncle Hal had taught him when he was little.

"Where are you going?" A voice came from behind them. Emmy stood behind Willy and she snatched the corner of his cloak, examining the fabric. "And why are you dressed like that?" The suspicion was in her voice, and MJ bit his lip.

"We're going to find Lynn. We can blend in, and the crew can't due to lack of training and appearance." He explained. She glared at him.

"Why can't I come?" She asked.

"You're wounded." Willy said hurriedly, gesturing to her wrist.

"Not anymore then you are." She replied coldly.

"We can't spare Willy. We may need him to pick locks if we encounter them." Will said. Emmy folded her arms and glared at the three of them.

"So you're going to leave me with a bunch of boys while you go rescue the damsel in distress, I see how it is. I just defied my uncles orders and escaped from my prison room to help you and I don't even get to see any action." She folded her arms and refused to meet their gaze.

"Em, you can't get hurt, if you did, Oberjarl would kill us." Willy said, trying to lighten the mood, but is only made her scowl even more.

"So now it's because of my uncle?" She snapped. Willy let out a sigh.

"This isn't a game, Em. We could all very much die. We're up against a whole city of Genovesan assassins." Willy tried to reason. But she refused to take no for an answer. She looked to Will.

"Well I have a plan, so I'm coming with you." She said.

Lynn walked quietly behind Jackson, since he refused to let her out of his sight. Two Genovesans were trailing behind her, keeping their eyes on her the whole time.

"What if it's not a rescue party?" Lynn whined. Jackson flashed a glare at her.

"Why else would Skandians travel this far South?" He snapped. She growled slightly. Earlier, Jackson had shown Lynn the ship, asking if she knew it. Of coarse she had lied, saying most of the ships in Skandia looked the same.

"I don't know. You tell me." She retorted. He didn't respond. He simply continued to walk, and Lynn followed.

Lynn sat bored to death in Jackson's study as he went over some reports. It was better then being in a damp cell though with painful shackles around her wrists aand ankles. She sighed as she looked down to see her bloody wrists.

There was a sudden knock on the door and Jackson's chamberlain stepped in announcing the presence of three Genovesans and a lady. Jackson stood as in stepped three familiar figures and one new. Lynn held in her gasp as she saw MJ, Will and Willy in Genovesan cloaks, leading in a girl around Lynn's age.

"State your names and business." Jackson commanded.

"Mik, Will and Willy, at your service, We bring news from Oberjarl Erak. He is willing to trade, for the Apprentice Lynnette." MJ announced. Jackson glanced at Lynn, who shifted uncomfortably under his gaze.

"Do you know these men, Lynn?" He asked. She shook her head.

"We are simply messengers for Oberjarl Erak. He payed a large amount for our services." Willy explained. Jackson nodded.

"Alright, what does this lady have to deal with the Oberjarl?" He asked.

"We wanted to make sure Oberjarl would stick to his deal, so we took his neice with to insure it." Will said smirking. Jackson grinned.

"What is your name girl?" He asked.

"Lady Emilia Starfollower." She said sticking her chin up higher. She was dressed in a beautiful dress that was fit for a princess. She had brought it just encased they ran into a problem like this.

"She is beautiful. Oberjarls niece you say?" He smirked.

"Yes, I was under his care when these Genovesans captured me." She said dully, glaring at Willy.

"And Oberjarl would pay anything to regain his precious niece." Willy told Jackson. Jackson's grin widened. He looked at Lynn.

"This is where we part, mo ghrá." He said. "Go with these Genovesans, they will bring you back to Araluen." He kissed her cheek, and she flinched, pulling away from him and she walked warily towards MJ, making it look like she was scared of them. Jackson held out a hand to Emmy.

"You will be cared for in our presence, lady Starfollower." He said. She took his hand and smiled, glaring back at the boys.

"Thank you. I can tell you will treat me better then those wretched pirates." She said. Jackson gave her a warm smile and nodded.

"Yes, this way, Thank you men. Lynn, I do hope we meet again in the future." Then he left, leading Emmy out of the study. Emmy winked at Willy as she left, then they are lost from sight as Jackson shut the door.

Hey! So I'm trying to update more frequently. I hope you liked this chapter. I'm thinking about creating a cast list, so comment or PM me if you have suggestion of who you think should be the main characters.  Obviously I'm not going to choose people for the real RA/BC characters because we should all imagine them as how we picture them rather then my image of them. So yeah, please comment and vote. Love you!
