Dear Papá Noel:

It's me, Pablo. I'm writing to you from Canada, my new home—don't worry though, my family came with me—my big brother, Sergio, is helping me write this letter to you. I'm going to be honest with you, Canada is very cold. But you probably know that already since you live here and all. My teacher, Señora Daley, said that the North Pole is in Canada, which is so cool!

But I know you're very busy making toys for all the children in the world, so I don't want to take up too much of your time. This year, I don't want any toys, but if you want to give me some, I won't turn them down—but I'm sure my little sister, Daniela would like a doll—I don't know what Sergio, or my mom and want though.

Anyways, what I would like for Christmas is snow. Well, I'd actually like it on Nochebuena (Christmas Eve). It hasn't snowed at all since we got here. Can you believe that? But anyway, I'd like to build my first snowman with my family on Christmas Day. So if it's not too much trouble that's what I'd like, please and thank you.

This story was initially going to be for a MircroBytes Christmas letter to Santa prompt. However, I completely misread the instructions, and the above story is the result. I hope you enjoyed it nonetheless. In the end, I decided to include it in this anthology since it's so close to Christmas. It seemed like a nice way to cap off my first collection of short stories. And I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of writing flash fiction. Thank you for reading.
