Part I
"Ready?"
"You're crazy."
Ryan smiled at Eric, "Am I always?"
The two boys grabbed the parachutes from the seats and opened the plane door. "Why did I sign up for this? Why skydiving?" Eric yelled over the throbbing wind. Ryan looked back at him, ready to jump, "You will get used to it, it will be fun. Just jump!" Ryan jumped as Eric was putting on his gear, "I hate him sometimes." He said under his breath as he jumped out into the clear, blue sky and saw his friend falling below him, grinning from ear to ear.
He pointed at the landscape below and yelled, "See here, Eric! We are now over the Great Plains!" They stared in awe as they were rapidly approaching the many acres of land that spread across the Earth. Five hundred feet, four hundred feet, three hundred feet, they activated their parachutes. As they were floating down, Ryan laughed gleefully, "Told ya it was fun!" "DON'T EVER DO THIS TO ME AGAIN, GOT THAT?!?!" Eric cried.
At last, their feet touched the soft grass. Eric, who has a fear of heights, lied down on the ground, happy to be back on the solid Earth yet again. "Woah, dude, check it out!" Ryan half whispered to Eric, "There's a whole herd of bison over there!" Stretched out on the vast landscape, there were not one, but multiple bison herds, grazing on the grass right before their eyes. It was a truly magnificent once in a lifetime sight. "Pretty cool, huh?" Eric replied with his jaw hanging open, "Yeah, it makes history and science seem a bit more interesting when you go out and experience what you are learning in real life."
BANG, BOOM, CRASH! Suddenly, gunshots came from a patch of high rising grass as a group of hunters came into view as the bison collapsed, one by one. Eric stayed low and caught a glimpse of the logo on one of their jackets. "Ryan, we need to get out of here now. This is no ordinary group of hunt- WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?! GET BACK HERE!"
Ryan ran towards the Hunters and tried to snatch a rifle out of the man's hand. It was hopeless, he was outnumbered to about twenty armed hunters to one teenage boy. Ryan got thrown off and managed to run back to Eric, with cuts and bruises all over. Ryan looked at Eric with some sort of childish excitement. "Dang, those guys are-" "That was either the bravest act ever performed, or the most idiotic. Nice job." Eric added sarcastically. Ryan had a coughing fit to hide his laughter, and he reported, "As I was running towards the Hunter, I saw the logo on the jacket. It belonged to a cooperation, I forgot what they did...up until now..."
"After we find our way out of this mess, we need to find their HQ and teach them a lesson." "Look around. Do you see anything that might help us escape?" added Eric. They both looked hopelessly towards the miles and miles of land laid out before them, lost, and afraid of what might happen next.
Just then, a terrible cry filled the air as Eric collapsed on the ground, his shirt soaked with blood. "Gotcha you runt." one Hunter said with a sneer. Ryan looked in horror at his friend's unmoving form. His horror turned into fear, then into rage. "DAMN YOU!" Ryan screamed as he charged towards the enemy. A deep pain swelled up in his chest and looked down to see he had been shot. He hit the ground, and soon, everything was black.
