Chapter 7

Dean's POV

I walked back into the living room after ending the phone call. I was definitely on edge after that, wondering what he was going to do.. I brushed it off as an empty threat.

He wouldn't actually do anything to me or Virgil. Would he? Who am I kidding? He's a complete psychopath.. Of course he would! Don't forget about what he already did to you both.. But he doesn't even know where we live. We're in a completely different town now. He wont find us here.

I looked at the screen and my eyes widened in horror at the sight before me. The other mother was becoming taller and skinnier while counting to Coraline before finally yelling "THREE!" and grabbing her nose and pulling her away.

I looked down at Virgil. His eyes were wide as he seemed lost in the movie. I quickly sat down and covered his eyes but he hastily moved my hands out of the way without looking away from the screen.

"Virgil, you're going to have nightmares!" I exclaimed.

He ignored me and continued watching the movie.

I sighed, "alright, but don't come crawling in with me when you have another nightmare after this!" I said, sternly, but, of course, didn't mean it.

We continued to watch the movie. I glanced at Virgil every few seconds to make sure that none of it was too scary for him. He was extremely into the movie, staring at the screen with wide eyes. The only part that seemed to really scare him was when she was banging on the other side of the door and screaming "DON'T LEAVE ME" over and over again, but that scene was luckily over quickly.

As it was getting closer to the end, I was growing much more tired. My eyes falling as I tried to keep them open. Eventually I gave in though and soon I was asleep.

Third Person POV

They were, once again, in the Sanders household.

Patton was doing dishes as he had made the mistake of letting them stack up and they did not have a dishwasher. Luckily they had a dish washer though. And that dish washer was Patton so I guess he's doing his job now. Patton couldn't wait until Roman and Remus were old enough to do dishes.

Logan was working from home that day. Sitting in his office room upstairs. Papers were spread about everywhere and his laptop open on a million tabs. The door was shut as the kids were being quite loud earlier, though they had toned it down quite a bit since then, Logan still kept the door shut. Mostly so that nobody disturbed his work process.

Virgil had gotten much more comfortable around the rest of them though Logan and Remus still slightly scared him and he was still quite quiet around Patton.

He mostly stuck with Roman as Roman protected him from Remus and his tricks a lot.

Patton was just really happy all the time which made Virgil weirded out and scared at the start but now it made him feel comfortable. But Patton always tried too hard to get him to talk which made him not want to talk. Not to mention anyone significantly taller then him was pretty scary and it was easier for him to talk to people of the same age and height. He gave Patton a word every now and again though which made Patton overly happy to the point where Virgil was starting to question what he would do if he actually said a full sentence to Patton. Would he explode with joy? Like literally explode into confetti like a party canon? Virgil didn't want to find out.

Logan scared him because he was so formal and didn't get to see as much of him as he did Patton. Logan used big words that Virgil didn't understand and always looked so serious.

Remus was just a Remus. Everyone was scared of him to some extent.

Roman was hanging out with Virgil on the couch, looking for something to watch on Netflix. They had been playing tag earlier, Virgil being it before he accidentally tripped over himself causing that game to stop abruptly. Remus was upset that Virgil had ruined the game and Roman's legs were getting tired anyway so he didn't mind stopping, though he could've gone for way longer. Or so he states.

Roman was scrolling through shows when Virgil saw a familiar movie. He gasped suddenly and pointed, causing Roman to abruptly stop his scrolling and went back to the one Virgil had gasped at. Coraline.

"What's that movie?" Roman asked, having never seen it before.

"Coraline!" Virgil replied, his speech had gotten a lot better since hanging out at their house more. Though he still was a little shy to speak so he didn't speak proper sentences. He only really said a few words around Dee and sometimes Roman when they were alone, which was rare since Remus was usually around.

"Is it Disney?" Roman asked.

Virgil had learned all about Disney and watched every movie on Netflix since becoming friends with Roman.

Virgil shrugged as he didn't know. How was he supposed to know?

"Okay, I'll watch it.. But Disney is better!" Roman defended, putting the movie on.

Virgil giggled happily and wrapped himself up in his purple blanket. Roman quickly running upstairs to grab his red blanket with a yellow crown on it. Both children curled up on the couch with their blankets and watched the movie quietly.

Wait, where's Remus?

"How do dreams happen?" A voice asked, causing Logan to jump in surprise.

Logan looked over at Remus with wide eyes and his hand clutched over his heart. Some of his papers fluttered to the ground. He eyes looked back and forth from the door that was still closed to the curious looking Remus who didn't seem to realise that he nearly killed his mother of shock.

"What?" Was all Logan asked. He had not heard Remus enter the room.

"How do dreams happen?" He asked again.

"Well, uh.." Logan thought of ways that he could simplify it for Remus to understand, "dreams happen when your brain becomes active while asleep and often reflects on images, ideas, emotions and sensations."

Remus looked thoughtful for a moment as he seemed to be trying to register whatever Logan had just said.

"What happens after we die?" He then asked.

Logans eyes went wide, "uhh.." He started but Remus cut him off with a billion other questions.

"Where do babies come from?"

"Storks." Logan quickly answered, being prepared for that question for a while now but didn't expect it to come so soon.

"Are slugs just homeless snails?"

Logan sighed as he realised this and wasn't exactly in the mood to explain all of it to him. Deciding to change the subject.

"Why are you asking me all these questions, Remus?" He asked.

"Because I want to know things and you're the smart one." Remus answered though that was only half the reason and Logan could tell.

"And?" Logan said, gesturing for him to continue, knowing that wasn't the only reason.

"And Roman never wants to play with me anymore ever since Virgil came here..."

"Oh, Remus, I am sorry.. Would you like me to speak to him for you?" Logan asked, trying to be sympathetic but also having a lot of work to do and Remus would distract him.

"No.. Its okay.. I'll leave you alone.." Remus said, realising that he was probably getting in Logans way.

Remus shuffled out of the room, closing the door on the way out.

What can I get into today?

Remus wondered afterwards and smirked to himself evilly. He went into the bathroom and looked around.

He ended up eating half a tub of toothpaste, two of Logans migraine pills, a bottle of mouthwash and was now munching on his second deodorant stick, which was Patton's, which had already been used by him. He already ate Logans. He also clogged the toilet with toilet paper just because why not?

Suddenly Roman walked in. He and Remus made eye contact for a few second. The place looked like a disaster. Toothpaste smeared on the mirror, counter and Remus. The toilet overflowing with toilet paper, some water spilling out of it. Remus' face was covered in toothpaste and deodorant remains as he sat on the counter still munching on Patton's deodorant.

"Mom! Dad! Remus is eating the deodorant again!" Roman called.

Immediately Patton and Logan were there, wide eyed in shock and anger at their son.

"Remus! No! Bad! Get off of the counter and give me that!" Patton yelled, picking him up off the counter and taking the rest of the deodorant away from him.

In the end, Patton made Remus help him clean up the mess and got no cookies for the rest of the week. Roman teased him about it before Patton threatened to take his cookies away too. Logan, of course, went back to doing his work after Patton had taken care of the situation. Unfortunately he had to add deodorant, toothpaste and toilet paper to the shopping list.

A little while later, Logan had become tired of his work and realised he had spent all day in his chair and decided it would be best to get out of the room and ho downstairs for a bit before bed. He stretched and made his way downstairs with his laptop in hand. He sat down in his chair and opened up his laptop, once again. He just needed to double check his work and then he would be good.

"Fuck..!" He whisper-yelled as he accidentally closed a tab that he still needed open.

Patton and Roman gasped. Roman had heard the word before and Patton warned him to never say it or he would get his prince costume taken away and no cookie privileges for a year so he never said it or any of the other bad words that Patton warned him about.

"Fuck." Virgil repeated.

The one time he speaks..!

Patton and Roman gasped again but Patton gave Logan a death glare. Logan looked up in shock, realising his mistake he slowly closed the laptop and put it down. Slowly getting up he said, "Patton, calm down... We can talk about this.." But it was too late as Patton went to go chase after him.

"Are they gonna hurt each other because of me?" Virgil asked, worriedly.

"Nah, dad would never hurt mom on purpose!" Roman answered.

Virgil felt a lot better about that when suddenly there was a knock on the door.

"Patton, stop! Please! Someone's at the door!" Logan yelled.

"This isn't over!" Patton warned.

Patton opened the door with a smile, seeing Dean who had obviously come to pick Virgil up again. Then remembered the situation that had just happened before.

Oh shiz.. Dee's gonna kill us if he finds out that Logan just taught Virgil the F word..

Patton quickly picked Virgil up and gave him to Dean.

"Virgil was great nothing happened and everything's fine okay bye!" Patton said altogether and closed the door abruptly. Sighing in relief afterwards.

Dean had a puzzled expression on his face and quietly looked at Virgil.

"Fuck." Virgil said with a smile, showing Dean that he had learned a new word.

Dean's eyes went wide with shock before they turned angry.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY CHILD?!?!"
