Doomsday
Daleks and Cybermen, all on the same Earth. Along with the return of some familiar friends, the Doctor's going to need as much help as he can get if he can defeat both opposing forces before they start a catastrophic war.
***
The Daleks were sliding across the floor, ready to kill the group until Willow stepped in their way. "Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!"
"Daleks!" They stopped upon the mention of their species, stunned into silence. "You're called Daleks. I know your name. Think about it how can I know that? A human who knows about the Daleks and the Time War." She took off her white jacket, sharing a look with Rose. Willow was still wearing the Chameleon Cloak, meaning they couldn't detect that she wasn't human.
"I know all about the war as well, you know with the TIMELORDS," Rose emphasised. "If you want to know how then keep us alive. That's all I'm asking. Me and my friends."
"Yeah, Daleks. Time War. Me too." Mickey piped up as the black Dalek turned its eyestalk in the others' direction.
"Yeah. And me." said Rajesh, shyly.
"You will be necessary. Report. What is the status of the Genesis Ark?" Rose exhaled a breath of relief as the black Dalek spoke to one of the bronze Daleks.
"Status, hibernation." They seemed to be referring to a contraption in the middle of their formation.
To the others, it looked bizarre to them but Willow found it familiar as if she had seen it before. "Commence awakening. The Genesis Ark must be protected above all else."
When the Daleks were distracted, Mickey whispered to Rose. "The Daleks. You said they were all dead."
"Never mind that. What the hell's a Genesis Ark?" She asked.
"I don't know," replied Willow. "But I think I've seen it before."

Raven tried to peek at her father's designs, intrigued. "Come on! What are you making?"
"Just something that the High Council wanted." He answered. "Nothing more."
"You're not usually this secretive, especially when you're inventing something." She spoke.
"Well, this something that only I and other council members know about-"
"So what's wrong with an extra person." Raven leaned over him, quickly scanning the blueprints. It looked like a small machine, similar to the TARDIS in fact. When he noticed her looking, her father folded it up and removed it from her view. "Are you making another travel machine?"
Cornelius scratched the back of his head. "Something like that... look why don't you go up to your room and play... or something."
"Father, I'm 253." She told him. "I'm not a child anymore, can't I go out for a bit?"
"No, it's not safe for you. Just go to your room." He ordered.
"But-"
"GO!" Her father snapped, scaring her a little.
However, she obeyed, leaving him to his work and leaving the observatory. Once she was gone, he frowned before taking the blueprints for his next invention and opening it up.
Although, he was soon distracted, looking up at the ceiling as if he were wanting to communicate with the universe or the woman he once loved. "I wish you were here. Where are you?"
***
"Which of you is least important?" The black Dalek interrupted Willow's thoughts.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She questioned.
"Which of you is least important?" It repeated.
Rose shook her head. "No, we don't work like that. None of us."
"Designate the least important!" It demanded.
Rajesh decided to speak up. "This is my responsibility."
"I'm telling you don't!" Willow pleaded, knowing that the Daleks were killing machines.
However, he ignored her and marched into the centre, between the four Daleks. "I er, I represent the Torchwood Institute. Anything you need, you come through me. Leave these three alone."
"You will kneel." It ordered him.
"What for?"
It didn't answer his question. "Kneel." Hesitantly, Rajesh did what the Dalek said and knelt on the ground. "The Daleks need information about current Earth history."
"Yeah, well, I can give you a certain amount of intelligence but nothing that will compromise homeland security." He informed them.
"Speech is not necessary. We will extract brainwaves." They edged closer, using their plungers on his head.
"Don't I-I'll tell you everything you need. No. No!" The trio watched in horror as they began to squish head, turning it red. He screamed painfully as Rose turned her head into Mickey's shoulder, terrified. If only he had listened.
Eventually, the Daleks parted their plungers from his head, leaving a dry and dusty corpse that belonged to Rajesh. It fell to the ground, the earpiece falling off its head. The Daleks were unfazed by this circumstance, recounting what they learnt. "His mind spoke of a second species invading Earth infected by the superstition of ghosts."
"You didn't need to kill him!" Willow raised her voice with a tone of fury.
"Neither did we need him alive." One of the bronze Daleks replied.
"Dalek Thay, investigate outside." The black Dalek commanded one of them.
"I obey." It exited the room, managing to unlock the deadlock from the inside.
The door closed behind them, blocking the trio's escape as the Daleks turned to the gold wall where the Void Ship once was. "Establish visual contact. Lower communications barrier."
A big blue viewscreen appeared on the wall, allowing them to see a pair of Cybermen marching down the corridor. If Willow's theories were correct, the Cybermen would have taken the Doctor captive and that he'd somehow be watching.
"Identify yourselves." The Dalek yelled at them.
"You will identify first." A Cyberman replied.
"State your identity."
"You will identify first."
"Identify!"
"It's like Stephen Hawking meets the Speaking Clock." joked Mickey.
"Shut up!" Willow told him, trying to listen in to their conversation.
On the screen, they were still trying to order each other to identify themselves. "Daleks do not take orders."
"You have identified as Daleks." They responded.
The black Dalek scanned them from inside the Sphere Chamber. "Outline resembles the inferior species known as Cybermen." Rose's phone started to ring in her pocket, pulling it out and realising that it must be the Doctor. She answered it so he could listen in to their conversation. "Long range scans confirm the presence of crude cybernetic constructs on worldwide scale."
"We must protect the Genesis Ark." One of the Daleks stated.
The Cybermen and the Dalek continued to bicker. "Our species are similar, though your design is inelegant."
"Daleks have no concept of elegance." It answered.
"This is obvious." Though the Cybermen were horrifying glimpses of a bad outcome for their universe, Willow did appreciate that they were quite sassy. "But consider, our technologies are compatible. Cybermen plus Daleks. Together, we could upgrade the universe."
"You propose an alliance?"
"Shit." Willow muttered under her breath, comprehending that both forces together would be unstoppable and the universe were no match for them. On the other hand, Daleks were the species wanting to be dominant in the universe, would they allow the Cybermen to join their ranks?
"This is correct." The Cyberman confirmed.
"Request denied." The Dalek bluntly affirmed.
Then, the Cybermen readied their weapons, having built a small gun in their armour. "Hostile elements will be deleted."
They shot at the Dalek but it was unaffected by their firepower. "Exterminate!" It shot two lasers at the Cybermen, killing them dead. They screamed in pain before falling to the ground.
The viewscreen disappeared and was replaced with a video of a Cyberleader, responding to the Daleks' attack. "Daleks, be warned. You have declared war upon the Cybermen."
This was even worse because she knew there was no way that the Cybermen would win this one, they were inferior in every aspect. After all, they were designed by humans. "This is not war. This is pest control."
"We have five million Cybermen. How many are you?" The Cyberleader questioned.
"Four."
From hearing the black Dalek state the exact number, the Cyberleader seemed to doubt they could destroy their fleet. "You would destroy the Cybermen with four Daleks?"
"We would destroy the Cybermen with one Dalek." It informed them. "You are superior in only one respect."
"What is that?"
"You are better at dying. Raise communications barrier!" It said, cancelling all communication in the room, including Rose's phone signal.
Willow smiled as the Doctor quickly walked past on screen, catching the Daleks' attention. "Wait! Rewind image by nine tells." The image froze as they zoomed into the Doctor's face. "Identify grid seven gamma frame. This male registers as enemy."
The Cybermen hadn't done anything to him, pleasing Willow who still had a smile on her face. The black Dalek turned to her. "The female's heartbeat has increased."
They edged closer as Mickey rolled his eyes. "Yeah, tell me about it."
"Identify him." ordered the black Dalek.
She glanced at Rose, smugly. The blonde, in return, smiled because she knew what she was going to say. "All right, then. If you really want to know," Willow paused for a second, gazing up at her love. "That's the Doctor." The black Dalek rolled back, suddenly fearful upon recognising that name. "Five million Cybermen, easy. One Doctor? Now you're scared."
After a while, the Dalek returned from staking out the corridors, locking the doors again. "Cyber threat irrelevant. Concentrate on the Genesis Ark."
"Why are we being kept alive?" Mickey asked.
"They might need us." Rose guessed.
"What? What is it?"
***
The Doctor sat by the window, imprisoned in Yvonne's office by the Cybermen after they had taken Jackie away to be upgraded. All he could think about was the safety of Willow and Rose down below. He saw in the reflection of the glass that the Cyberleader was behind him. "You are proof."
He rotated his head, confused by its remark. "Of what?"
"That emotions destroy you." It described.
"Yeah, I am." The Doctor proudly asserted.
Suddenly, he felt a shift in the air as if something were coming. He gazed out into the wide white room outside. "Mind you, I quite like hope. Hope's a good emotion. And here it comes."
Abruptly, a group of armed black-cladded commandos shifted into their existence and started firing their guns at the Cybermen around them, destroying them. The Cyberleader marched out, ready to fire his gun until he was zapped too by an unknown assailant. Its head exploded as it fell to the ground, completely annihilated.
"Doctor? Good to see you again." The commando removed his mask, revealing it to be Jake.
His eyes widened in surprise. "Jake?" Then another commando took off their mask. It was Indigo, only her blonde hair was shorter. "Indy?"
"The Cybermen came through from one world to another, and so did we." She answered as the Doctor put on his 3D glasses again to observe them. "Defend this room. Chrissie, monitor communications. Kill one CyberLeader and they just download into another. Move!" She ordered the other commandos, seemingly leading the team.
They ran off, leaving Jake and Indy in the room with the Doctor. He removed his glasses. "You can't just, just, just hop from one world to another. You can't."
"We just did. With these." Jake threw a large yellow medalion like the ones they were wearing over to the Doctor.
The Doctor appeared shocked upon realising what these things were. "But that's impossible. You can't have this sort of technology."
"We've got our own version of Torchwood. They developed it. Do you want to come and see?" He asked, pressing his own button.
"No!"
Nonetheless, the Doctor was too late to stop him as the three soon vanished and were transported back to the parallel world. Around them was the same Torchwood, only it was a wreck. "Parallel Earth, parallel Torchwood. Except we found out what the Institute was doing and the People's Republic took control."
"I've got to get back. Willow and Rose are in danger, and her mother." He tried to explain to them.
"That'd be Jackie. My wife and Indy's adoptive mother in a parallel universe." Pete Tyler, the parallel version, said whilst walking into the room. "And as for you, Doctor, at least this time I know who you are."
However, the Doctor didn't really care about that, only that his friends were in danger. "Right, yes, fine, hooray. But I've got to get back, right now."
"No, you're not in charge here." Pete fired back. "This is our world, not yours. And you're going to listen for once."
***
"I could transport out of here, but it only carries one and I'm not leaving you or Willow." Mickey told them.
"You'd follow me anywhere. What did I do to you all those years ago?" asked Rose.
"Guess I'm just stupid." He responded.
She smiled. "You're the bravest man I've ever met."
"What about the Doctor?" He wondered.
"Oh, all right. Bravest human."
Mickey gazed back at the Daleks, murmuring. "Well, I can't think what the Daleks need with me. I'm nothing to them."
"You could be." Willow answered. "Whatever's inside that Ark is waking up, and I've seen this happen before. Rose, do you remember the first Dalek you met?"
She nodded, explaining to Mickey her first experience with these monsters. "The first time I saw a Dalek, it was broken. It was dying. But I touched it. The moment I did that, I brought it back to life. As the Doctor said, when you travel in time in the TARDIS, you soak up all this background radiation. It's harmless. It's just there. But in the Time War, the Daleks evolved so they could use it as a power supply."
"I love it when you talk technical." remarked Mickey.
"Shut up." Rose stated. "If the Daleks have got something inside that thing, and it needs waking up."
"They need you two."
"You've travelled in time. Either one of us would do." She reminded him.
"But why would they build something they can't open themselves?"
Willow was about to answer his question until the black Dalek intervened. "The technology is stolen. The Ark is not of Dalek design."
"Then who built it?" Rose queried.
"The Time Lords. This is all that survives of their Home World." They circled around the Genesis Ark, showcasing it.
"I knew it." muttered Willow, under her breath. "What's inside?"
"The future." It vaguely insinuated.
Once they were distracted again, Willow began whispering to her friends. "My father created it, I saw the blueprints."
"But you don't know what it is?" questioned Rose.
She shook her head as Mickey, bewildered by what they were talking about, interrupted. "What are you talking about? Your adoptive father didn't build that."
"It's a long story."
***
"When you left this world, you warned us there'd be more Cybermen. So we sealed them inside the factories." Pete explained.
"Except people argued. Said they were living. We should help them." described Jake, enthusiastically.
"I tried to tell them what Lumic had done to me, even showed them this." She removed her right- handed glove and rolled down her sleeve to reveal a metallic robotic arm. "They still didn't listen."
"When did that happen?" The Doctor queried.
Indigo thought back, casually. "Oh, a factory exploded and it kind of broke some of my parts in my right arm, so I got a new one."
"And the debate went on. But all that time, the Cybermen made plans. Infiltrated this version of Torchwood, mapped themselves onto your world, and then vanished." Pete continued, pacing the room with the others.
The Doctor asked. "When was this?"
"Three years ago." He told him.
"It's taken them three years to cross the void, but we can pop to and fro in a second. Must be the sheer mass of five million Cybermen crossing all at once." He theorised.
Pete nodded. "Yeah, Mickey said you'd rattle off that sort of stuff."
"Oh, where is the Mickey boy?" The Doctor glanced around the room, interested.
"He went ahead first. Any chance to go and find Miss Rose Tyler." He explained.
As they walked closer to the window, the Doctor turned to him. "She's your daughter. You do know that? Did Mickey explain?"
"She's not mine. She's the child of a dead man." Pete changed the subject as they looked out onto the city below. "Look at it, a world of peace. They're calling this The Golden Age."
"Who's the President now?" He wondered.
"A woman called Harriet Jones."
Upon hearing her name, the Doctor grew defensive. "Oof. I'd keep an eye on her."
"But it's a lie." Pete recommenced. "Temperatures have risen by two degrees in the past six months. The ice caps are melting. They're saying all this is going to be flooded. That's not just global warming, is it?"
"No."
"It's the breach."
"I've been trying to tell you. Travel between parallel worlds is impossible. Then the Daleks break down the walls with a Sphere."
He seemed confused by his remark. "Daleks?"
"Then the Cybermen travelled across, then you lot. Those discs. Every time you jump from one reality to another, you rip a hole in the universe. This planet is starting to boil. Keep going and both worlds will fall into the Void." He described thoroughly.
"But you can stop it? The famous Doctor. You can seal the breach?" He asked.
"Leaving five million Cybermen stranded on my Earth." The Doctor bellowed.
"That's your problem." responded Pete. "I'm protecting this world, and this world only."
"Hmm. Pete Tyler. I knew you when you were dead. Now here you are, fighting the fight with your daughter by your side but there is a chance, back on my world, Jackie Tyler might still be alive." He tried to tempt him.
"My wife died." He stated.
The Doctor shrugged. "Her husband died. Good match."
"There's more important things at stake." He asserted. "Doctor, help us."
He stepped back, uncertain. "What, close the breach? Stop the Cybermen? Defeat the Daleks? Do you believe I can do that?"
"Yes."
One word, that was all that was needed to convince him. "Maybe that's all I need. Off we go, then!" They used the discs to transport themselves over to the other Earth. The Doctor tucked his into his pocket. "First of all, I need to make a phone call. You don't mind?"
"You two, guard the door." Jake ordered the armed guards who obeyed.
The Doctor dialled Jackie's number into the phone. "Oh, my God, help me!" She answered.
He almost relieved as he knew that Jackie Tyler wouldn't go down so easily. "Jackie, you're alive. Listen-"
"They tried to download me but I ran away!" Jackie yelled, interrupting him.
"Shush. Listen, tell me. Where are you?" He asked.
"I don't know. Staircase." She replied.
"Yeah, which one?" The Doctor questioned, wanting more details. "Is there any sort of sign? Anything to identify it?"
"Yes, a fire extinguisher!"
He rolled his eyes, already infuriated. "Yeah, that helps..."
"Oh, wait a minute. It says N3." Jackie told him, reading off a sign.
The Doctor made some quick calculations in his head, thinking of a plan. "North corner, staircase three. Just keep low, we're trying our best."
"No, don't leave me!" She protested.
"I've got to go. I'm sorry." He swiftly said before putting the phone down and facing Pete. "Jacqueline Andrea Suzette Tyler."
"She's not my wife."
"I was at the wedding. You got her name wrong." He mentioned, making Indigo chuckle a little as he raced past her. "Now then, Jakey boy, if I can open up the bonding chamber on this thing, it'll work on polycarbite."
"What's polycarbite?" He queried.
"Skin of a Dalek."
***
The four Daleks disconnected from the Genesis Ark, turning to the others. "Final stage of awakening." A Dalek stated.
"Your handprint will open the Ark." The black Dalek told Willow.
"I'm not doing it and neither are they." She responded.
"Obey or the female and male will die." It asserted.
She sighed, realising that she couldn't risk it. "I can't let them."
Willow walked up to the Genesis Ark, ready to do what they commanded as Rose shouted. "Willow, don't!"
"Place your hand upon the casket." It demanded.
"Alright, you're going to kill us anyway so what's the point." She was about to touch when an idea sprung to mind. If the Doctor was going to rescue them, she would have had to buy some time. "You know, if you escaped the Time War, don't you want to know what happened?"
"Place your hand-"
"What happened to the Emperor?" She interrupted.
The black Dalek was taken aback in disbelief. "The Emperor survived?"
"Until he met me. Because if these are going to be my last words, then you're going to listen. I met the Emperor, and I took the Time Vortex and I pulled it into his head and turned him into dust. Do you get that? The God of all Daleks, and I destroyed him." Willow removed her bracelet, allowing the Chameleon Cloak to make her a Timelord again. "And I'm not exactly human either."
The Daleks moved back. "Sensors detect the presence of a Timelord."
"Yep."
Mickey squinted, confused. "What?"
"You will be exterminated!" The black Dalek snapped.
"Oh now, hold on, wait a minute." A voice called from behind.
Standing by the entrance was the Doctor, wearing his 3D glasses again. "Alert, alert. You are the Doctor." The black Dalek pushed away from Willow, distracted.
"Sensors report he is unarmed." A Dalek spoke.
"That's me. Always." He replied.
"Then you are powerless." It thought.
"Not me. Never." The Doctor removed the 3D glasses from his face, facing his friends. "How are you two?"
Rose grinned. "Oh, same old, you know."
"Good. And Mickity McMickey. Nice to see you!" He fistbump Mickey, glad to see him.
"And you, boss."
Willow wandered up to him. "Took you long enough."
"I was busy." He responded, kissing her cheek as Mickey watched them in bewilderment.
"Ok, when did this happen?"
"It's a long story."
"Social interaction will cease!" A nearby Dalek stated.
"How did you survive the Time War?" The black Dalek questioned.
"By fighting. On the front line. I was there at the fall of Arcadia. Someday I might even come to terms with that." He explained, saddened. "But you lot ran away!"
"We had to survive."
"The last four Daleks in existence. So what's so special about you?" The Doctor wondered.
Rose interrupted. "Doctor, they've got names. I mean, Daleks don't have names, do they? One of them said they-"
"I am Dalek Thay." One answered.
"Dalek Sec." The black Dalek stated.
"Dalek Jast." Another said.
"Dalek Caan." A final one affirmed.
The Doctor widened his eyes, excited. "So that's it! At last. The Cult of Skaro. I thought you were just a legend."
"Who are they?" asked Rose.
"A secret order above and beyond the Emperor himself." Willow told her.
"Their job was to imagine, think as the enemy thinks. Even dared to have names. All to find new ways of killing." He continued.
"But that thing, they said it was yours. I mean, Time Lords. They built it. What does it do?" Mickey asked.
He observed the Genesis Ark, curiously. "I don't know. Never seen it before."
"My father built it, I saw him but he didn't want to show me it." Willow recounted.
"Both sides had secrets. What is it? What have you done?"
"Time Lord science will restore Dalek supremacy." The black Dalek informed him.
"What does that mean? What sort of Time Lord science?" The Doctor questioned. "What do you mean?"
"They said one touch from a time traveller will wake it up." recalled Willow, remembering what they had said earlier.
The Doctor zeroed in on Dalek Sec. "Technology using the one thing a Dalek can't do. Touch. Sealed inside your casing. Not feeling anything ever, from birth to death, locked inside a cold metal cage. Completely alone. That explains your voice. No wonder you scream."
Offended, Dalek Sec screamed. "The Doctor will open the Ark!"
However, in return, he simply chuckled. "The Doctor will not."
"You have no way of resisting." It replied.
"Well, you got me there." He shrugged, reaching inside his coat pocket. "Although there is always this."
The Doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver, surprising Sec. "A sonic probe?"
"That's screwdriver." He objected.
"It is harmless." Dalek Sec argued.
"Oh, yes. Harmless is just the word. That's why I like it. Doesn't kill, doesn't wound, doesn't maim. But I'll tell you what it does do. It is very good at opening doors." The Doctor selected one of the buttons as, all of a sudden, the walls of the laboratory blew in. The group fell to the ground as the room shook. Out came Jake, Indy and Cybermen all wielding guns and shooting the Daleks.
"Delete! Delete! Delete! Delete!" A Cyberman yelled, firing its gun.
The gun affected Dalek Jast, making it defenceless. "Alert. Casing impaired. Casing impaired."
"Willow, Rose, get out!" He yelled.
The girls stumbled past, however, Rose fell to the ground again. Just as Willow was helping her up, Pete came round and supported her from the other side. They widened their eyes, surprised that he was here to help them. "Come on."
He led them out of the door as the Doctor followed. Meanwhile, Mickey dived for the nearest gun, trying to fire it. "Daleks will be deleted. Delete. Delete."
When the group were successfully out of the room, Rose screamed at Mickey. "Mickey, come on!"
"Adapt to weaponry." Jast said.
"Fire power restored!" Sec affirmed, killing a Cyberman dead. As Mickey got back up, he jostled by a nearby Cyberman and knocked back onto the Genesis Ark. He used it to steady himself, accidentally burning his hand on the casket and activating it because of his background radiation from travelling in time.
Later, he, Jake and Indy joined the rest of the group as Dalek Sec exclaimed. "Cybermen primary target."
The Doctor slammed the door as Mickey felt the stinging pain on his hand. "Jake, check the stairwell." He ordered Jake who ran in the opposite direction. "The rest of you, come on."
The group sprinted down the corridor as Mickey explained what had happened. "I just fell, I didn't mean it!"
"Mickey, without us, they'd have opened it by force. To do that, they'd have blown up the sun. You've done us a favour." He congratulated him. "Now, run!"
***
Jackie ran out of the stairwell to escape a squad of Cybermen marching up, only to find herself facing two more down a corridor. "You will be upgraded."
"No, but you can't. Please." Unexpectedly, from behind, they were shot down, leaving white smoke blocking her view of her saviour for a moment. As it cleared, she saw exactly who saved her. "Pete?"
"Hello, Jacks." The rest of the group stood at the side, watching as they spoke to one another.
"I said there were ghosts, but that's not fair! Why him?!"
He lowered his weapon. "I'm not a ghost."
"But you're dead." Jackie stated as Rose stood awkwardly in the background. "You died twenty years ago, Pete."
The Doctor stepped forward. "It's Pete from a different universe. There are parallel worlds, Jackie. Every single decision we make creates a parallel existence, a different dimension where-"
"Oh, you can shut up." He nodded, backing up as she continued. "Oh, you look old."
"You don't."
"How can you be standing there?" She asked.
"I just got lucky. Lived my life. You were left on your own. You didn't marry again, or..."
"There was never anyone else." Mickey secretly snickered, knowing that she was lying but Jackie didn't notice. "Twenty years, though. Look at me. I never left that flat. Did nothing with myself."
"You brought her up. Rose Tyler. That's not bad." Pete remarked. "I mean, we adopted. Indigo Tyler."
He presented his adoptive daughter to her and Jackie smiled. "Yeah."
"In my world, it worked. All those daft little plans of mine, they worked. Made me rich." He told her.
Jackie shook her head. "I don't care about that. How rich?"
"Very."
"I don't care about that." She paused. "How very?"
The Doctor grinned as Pete laughed for a second. "Thing is though, Jacks, you're not my wife. I'm sorry, but you're not. I mean, we both..." He couldn't stop staring at her, though she wasn't the woman he married, he still loved her. "You know, it's just sort of-"
Indigo took her father's arm, nodding in assurance. "It's ok." She muttered.
Pete turned back to Jackie, close to tears. He paused, biting his lip before declaring. "Oh, come here."
They started running towards each other, Pete throwing his gun away before they embraced each other. Rose was relieved, she had her family back but what was going to happen now?
***
Down in the warehouse, the Cult of Skaro burst through the door with the Genesis Ark between them. "Exterminate!"
"Delete. Delete."
"Exterminate." Both sides opened fire as the leftover soldiers of Torchwood tried to stop them both.
"Delete."
"Everyone get down!" A soldier yelled, firing their guns.
"Exterminate. Exterminate."
"Delete." The Cybermen don't have a chance against the Daleks who were a much superior species than themselves.
The Daleks continued to glide through the warehouse without ease. "Get down! Get down!"
"Emergency. All units will converge on the Torchwood Tower. Repeat. All Cybermen to Torchwood." The Cyberleader spoke to the ones outside through their comms.
Meanwhile, the group were outside the doors to the warehouse, wondering how to get inside without being shot. The Doctor braved it, carefully ducking and crawling through to get to the crate of magnaclamps. He grabbed a pair but was forced to the ground by a sudden shake. "Come on, please." Willow muttered, ready to pull him back to safety.
He managed to dodge the crossfire, getting out of there. As they were about to leave, the Doctor put his 3D glasses back on, gazing back into the warehouse. "Override roof mechanism." Sec stated, opening the roof up for them to leave. "Elevate."
"What're they doing? Why do they need to get outside?" Rose questioned.
"Time Lord science. What Time Lord science? What is it?"
Willow theorised. "I think I know."
They pulled away from the doors as Dalek Sec and the Genesis Ark rose into the sky. The others ran back through the corridor. "We've got to see what it's doing. We've got to go back up. Come on! All of you. top floor!"
"That's forty five floors up! Believe me, I've done them all." Jackie affirmed, not wanting to go up the stairs again.
Jake's head popped up of the lift. "We could always take the lift."
***
The group managed to reach the top floor, in time to watch as Dalek Sec released millions of Daleks out of the Genesis Ark. "Time Lord science. It's bigger on the inside."
"Did the Time Lords put those Daleks in there? What for?" queried Mickey.
"It's a prison ship." He informed.
"How many Daleks?" Rose wondered.
"Millions."
The Daleks began to fire all around, killing as many people they could below. Pete had enough. "I'm sorry, but you've had it. This world's going to crash and burn. There's nothing we can do. We're going home." He took a spare transporter from one of the commandos. "Jacks, take this. You're coming with us."
"But they're destroying the city." She protested.
"I'd forgotten you could argue. It's not just London, it's the whole world." He put it around her neck. "But there's another world just waiting for you, Jacks. And it's safe as long as the Doctor closes the breach. Doctor?"
The Doctor spun around, showcasing his 3D glasses with a grin. "Oh, I'm ready. I've got the equipment right here. Thank you, Torchwood." He used one of the computer terminals, ready to set his plan into motion. "Slam it down and close off both universes."
"Reboot systems." The computer spoke.
"But we can't just leave. What about the Daleks? And the Cybermen?" Rose questioned.
"They're part of the problem, and that makes them part of the solution. Oh yes!" He was ecstatic, making Willow smile. "Well? Isn't anyone going to ask what is it with the glasses?"
"What is it with the glasses?" Willow asked.
"I can see, that's what." He sprinted over to the large white wall. "Because we've got two separate worlds, but in between the two separate worlds, we've got the Void. That's where the Daleks were hiding. And the Cybermen travelled through the Void to get here. And you lot, one world to another, via the Void. Oh, I like that. Via the Void. Look." The Doctor removed the glasses and slapped them on Willow's face.
Through the lenses, she could see background radiation on the Doctor. "Void stuff, like background radiation."
"That's it." He turned her around, viewing the others who all had Void stuff on them. "Look at the others. And the only one who hasn't been through the Void, Jackie. First time she's looked normal all in her life."
"Oi!"
"But the Daleks lived inside the Void. They're bristling with it. Cybermen, all of them. I just open the Void and reverse. The Void stuff gets sucked back inside." He continued, Willow skipping behind him.
"Pulling them all in!" She yelled.
"Pulling them all in!" The Doctor repeated.
"Sorry, what's the Void?" Mickey queried.
"The dead space. Some people call it Hell." He vaguely explained.
Mickey slipped the transporter back over his head. "So you're sending the Daleks and Cybermen to Hell. Man, I told you he was good."
However, Rose frowned. "But it's like you said. We've all got Void stuff. Me too, because we went to that parallel world. We're all contaminated. We'll get pulled in."
The Doctor wandered up to her. "That's why you've got to go. Back to Pete's world. Hey, we should call it that. Pete's World!" He glanced back at her. "I'm opening the Void, but only on this side. You'll be safe on that side."
"And then you close it, for good?" asked Pete.
"The breach itself is soaked in Void stuff. In the end it'll close itself. And that's it. Kaput." described the Doctor.
Willow raised an eyebrow, confused on how she was supposed to fit in to all of this. "But you stay on this side?"
"And you." He corrected her. "I can't lose you."
"But you'll get pulled in." Mickey declared.
"That's why I got these." The Doctor held up the two magnaclamps, presenting it to the group. "We'll just have to hold on tight. I've been doing it all my life."
The excitement that once filled Willow with joy had fizzled out and twisted into outrage. "So I don't even have a choice in the matter, I have to stay while my family is supposed to go?"
"Yeah." He said as he configured some last details on a computer.
"Forever?" The Doctor said nothing, angering her. "That's not going to happen."
The building shook drastically, wobbling them. "We haven't got time to argue. The plan works. We're going. You too. All of us."
"No, I'm not leaving here." Rose protested.
"I'm not going without her." Jackie told him.
He already had enough of his wife's jabber. "Oh, my God. We're going!"
"I've had twenty years without you, so button it. I'm not leaving her or Willow!" She snapped.
Rose tapped her shoulder, turning her around. "You've got to."
"Well, that's tough."
"Mum. I've had a life with you for nineteen years, but then I met the Doctor, and all the things I've seen him do for me, for you, for all of us." Willow smiled proudly at her cousin whilst the Doctor snuck behind Rose unknowingly, holding a transporter. "For the whole stupid planet and every planet out there. He does it alone, mum. But not anymore, because now he's got Willow... and she's got me." He slipped it around her neck, surprising her. "What're you-"
In a flash, they were gone, leaving only the Doctor and Willow left. She widened her eyes, shocked by his actions. She stormed up to him. "What the hell did you do that for?!"
He straightened up. "It's for her own safety."
"Yeah, but my family-"
"They're not your family!" The Doctor raised his voice.
She scrunched up her face, upset. In an instant, Willow raised her hand and slapped him in the face. He winced in pain. "You have no right to say that! For the past twenty-four years, I didn't even know who I was, they were a real family to me and I love them! So you have no right to make decisions for me because I have spent nearly nine hundred years without your input and I certainly don't need it now."
The Doctor paused, surprised yet saddened. "I'm sorry-"
Abruptly, their argument was interrupted by another flash as Rose transported back into the room. "I think this is the on switch."
Upon glimpsing her cousin's face, Willow softly smiled in relief. "Rose..."
They embraced each other as the Doctor rolled his eyes, storming over and breaking them apart. "Once the breach collapses, that's it. You will never be able to see her again. Your own mother!"
"I made my choice a long time ago, and I'm never going to leave you or Willow." His fiancée eyed him angrily, he couldn't make selfish decisions for himself. "So what can I do to help?"
"Systems rebooted. Open access." The computer spoke.
"Those coordinates over there, set them all at six. And hurry up." He ordered.
Rose travelled to the terminal, removing her transporter from her neck. Willow still glared at him for a few moments, until walking away to work on their plan. She noticed CCTV playing right outside. "We've got Cybermen on the way up."
"How many floors down?" He queried, noticeably calming down.
"Just one." She apprised.
"Levers operational." The computer affirmed.
The Doctor and Willow both had big grins on their faces. "That's more like it. Bit of a smile. The old team."
"Well, we're a family aren't we?" Willow spoke. Together, they were united. A family forever. That's the way it's supposed to be.
The Doctor handed Willow a magnaclamp that she'd had to share with Rose. She put it on the wall, looking back at the Doctor for directions. "Press the red button."
She did what he said, fastening it to the wall. "Put your arm around it and make sure to hold tight."
Rose nodded as the other two ran around to push the levers to activate the breach. "When it starts, just hold on tight. Shouldn't be too bad for us but the Daleks and the Cybermen are steeped in Void stuff. Are you ready?"
However, her attention was drawn to the sudden appearance of Daleks right outside. "So are they."
He took a deep breath, believing that this would work. "Let's do it!"
At the same time, both Willow and the Doctor pushed the levers up to the centre, opening the breach. They sprinted over to their magnaclamps, quickly grabbing on before their legs were swiftly lifted off the ground. "Online." The computer mentioned as a bright white light opened in the wall sucking the Daleks through the window and inside.
They screamed before vanishing. "The breach is open! Into the Void! Ha!"
Soon enough, there was a steady stream of Cybermen and Daleks as they were pulled through the broken window and into the endless Void. For a while, everything was going well until a spark blew in the system, causing Rose and Willow's lever to begin to move down. "Offline."
If the lever went down, the breach would be closed but Cybermen and Daleks would be still left on Earth and they couldn't let that happen. The only person near it was Rose, so she made a split decision and reached out to try and grab it. Willow tried to hold onto her but Rose still couldn't reach the lever, eventually letting go of the magnaclamp and grasping onto it. "I've got to get it upright!"
The Doctor and Willow watch as Rose steadied herself under the lever, pushing it back up to the centre. "Online and locked."
However, though the breach remained open, the suction was much stronger and they both knew that Rose was in the danger zone. "Rose, hold on! Hold on!" He yelled.
On the other hand, Willow kept one arm linked around the magnaclamp while the other reached out to Rose. "Rose, take my hand! Take my hand, Rose! Take my hand!" She screamed to her with tears in her eyes. She could already see her fingers slipping as Willow persevered. "Please, take my hand!"
Rose groaned struggling to move against the hurricane-like winds. "Willow!"
She had tried everything to hold on, but her strength was slipping away... and so were her hands. Willow kept her attempts up, she wasn't going to give in. She wasn't going to lose Rose.
But it was too late, she had let go and was now falling horizontally towards the Void. "ROSE!" screamed Willow as her tears were being taken through the air. Rose cried in terror as she was about to be lost to them in a few short moments. She could hear the Doctor and Willow's cries but her screams and the high velocity of wind drowned them out as she twisted through the air.
Abruptly, Pete appeared at the end of the wall, catching Rose as she was just about to go flying into the Void. She looked back at Willow, her eyes filled with sorrow, just before they both vanished again.
The Doctor and Willow observed as the wind died down and the entrance to the Void began to close, scrunching itself up like paper down a plughole until it vanished into the wall. The two settled back on the ground as the computer finally stated. "Systems closed."
"No." She muttered, sobbing. "NO!" Willow sprinted towards the wall, banging her fists on it. "Open! Open it!"
***
On the other side, in a parallel world, Rose also hammered on the same wall using the palm of her hands. "Take me back! Take me back! Take me back..." She cried.
Pete removed his transporter, discovering that it no longer worked. "It's stopped working. He did it. He closed the breach."
"No!" sobbed Rose.
***
"Bring her back!" She shrieked, continually trying to break down the wall. "Bring her back!"
The Doctor rested his hand on her shoulder. "Willow-"
However, she pushed him away, her eyes red from her tears. "It's all your fault! If you hadn't- if you hadn't..." She exclaimed, hesitating due to the build up of emotions. Then she gave up, sinking to the ground, on her knees. "Everything was fine before you came! Everything was fine!"
He wandered over to her, embracing her comfortingly as she cried. Willow clutched onto his suit, heartbroken. "I know..." murmured the Doctor, apologetic.
Because she was right. If the Doctor had never met Rose in Henriks that night, this would have never happened and she would be fine. Willow would have her family, but now she had nothing except the Doctor to keep her company. Her second chance of a new life was over and it was time to move on.
Eventually, they both stood back up, holding each other's hands as they walked back over to the wall. Willow pressed her head against it, almost feeling Rose on the other side.
***
Rose could sense it too, straightening up upon feeling a slight connection. It was almost like they were really there, and they were. Her makeup was ruined, her face stained from the mascara she wore.
***
She took a deep breath, ultimately letting go of the wall and stepping back towards the Doctor. For a moment, Willow glanced back, wishing she could see her closest friend again. But she wasn't there. How she wished she was dreaming.
The Doctor brushed an arm over her shoulder as they solemnly trudged off. There was no way of getting her back now, she was gone. Rose was gone forever.
Together, they were supposed to be united. A family forever. That's the way it was supposed to be. It was never meant to be like this.

Three more little chapters left, I won't talk much. Just leave you to mourn for a bit before you read on.
In the end, this would have always happened. I'm sorry.
