Unknown Sickness
I HAVE FOUND TIME.
Dagger's POV
I barged into the hospital, nearly breaking down it's doors as I went to a nurse. They took Rister quickly and went to the doctors, making me wait. I paced the rooms, not anting to wait when I remembered Brynjolf.
"Shit!" I said loudly, glad that most the people here only knew Elvish. I went to one of the children that weren't being in the room.
"Please, do me a huge favor and get me when Rister is alright. I'll be back soon." I said, before I left and ran across the streets, looking everywhere. I continued, through out the city, I gasped for breath and I went to my knees, holding my stomach. I got up, and went back up and looked around, looking in the shadows and I felt someone behind me. I lifted my dagger, and aimmed at their neck when someone grabbed my wrist. I looked up at the person and dropped my dagger, hugging him.
"Brynjolf...." I sighed out, relieved. He rubbed my back and pulled away.
"Sorry lass, I've been busy." He said and I grabbed his arm.
"I found Rister. He's...not in goood shape." I said. He got woried instantly.
"Where is he?" He said, panicked.
"At the hospital." I said and we went off, going back. I crashed through the doors and spaked in rapid Elvish, wanting my son to much to notice Brynjolf's confused stare. They motioned us to follow them and I quickly went with them, Brynjolf stomping behind us.
"Is he with you?" The nurse said in Elvish (to lazy to type it)
"Yes, he's the father." I said and she nodded, opening the door nd I saw Rister. I went to his side and heard his low breathing and I sighed softly, glad that we didn't go to a Temple. They probably were ready to packed with those ass-kissers. I brushed back Rister's red hair and relaxed.
"Look's like he's doing fine." Brynjolf said and I smiled, nodding.
"Miss, there is something we have to talk about." The nurse said, touching my shoulder.
"What is it?" I said back, confused and worried.
"Your son, there is something wrong with his head, a large tumor that is unknown of is right in between his frontal lobe and skull. A place we have no idea of removing." She said and I grabbed her shoulders.
"What the hell do you mean? Can't you help him?" I growled out, shaking her slightly.
"We are doing all we can...it dosen't look to serious but it he hits his head to much he could die...the skull will easily be crushed open to expose the brain. No amount of healing can heal him after that." the small woman said after I stopped. "We were able to stop the tumor from growing."
I sighed, muttered an apology, and turned to Brynjolf.
"Brynjolf, something is wrong with Rister." I said as I looked down. Brynjolf, who was holding him, looked up, wirred.
"What's wrong with him lass?" He said as he put Rister down, who whined softly, going onto his knees weakly. I looked at him, the boy's birthday was in 6 months. I put my hands in my face and cried, failing as a mother.
"H-he has a tumor...." I whimpered out as Brynjolf went to me.
"Ca't they take it out?" He said, trying to comfort me. I shook my head.
"No, they don't know how to take this kind out." I said. He glared at the small nurse who ran out of the room. "They stopped the tumor from growing." I said.
"That's good." Brynjolf sighed. "But, what do we have to do to make sure Rister stays alive."
"We have to make sure his head dosen't get hit hard. How are we going to do that? He's a child, he's going to get hurt....escpecially since we're his parents..." I said.
Brynjolf stayed quiet, thinking. After a while, he sighed.
"I have an idea, but you're not going to like it." He said. I looked up to him.
"What is it?" I said.
"We have to give Rister up." He said. I looked up at him in shock and pulled away from him.
"Why would you even suggest that?" I said, growing angry.
"We can't take care of him! No one in the Guild can! He's better off living with a farmer than living with us!." He said. I shook my head.
"No...nonononono......I am not going to...." I said, then stopped. "The mansion...I could give Rister than mansion and he could live there..." I said.
"What?" Brynjolf said, confused. "What manison, you never told me you had a mansion."
"My family are nobles here....the butlers will take care of him.....I will have to bribe a couple of theives to look out for him...." I said, starting to plan ahead and I smiled. "Yeah...that could work." I said.
"Dagger, what the hell are you talking about?" Brynjolf said, a little pissed off.
"Rister could live in the manison that my uncle lived in. He's dead now....so I became instant heir. He could stay there." I said. Brynjolf put his hand to his chin, thinking.
"That could work." He said. "Alright lass, we'll go with that." He said and he held Rister again, being softer with him.
"He's going to be alright..." I breathed out in soft Elvish and sat with him.
