Chapter One
A/N: Just a reminder before you read that this is a prequel. This story takes place three years before the events of 'The Test' take place. People were asking me to write this so they could get the full story on what happened to Natalie in the prologue of 'The Test'. Anyway, this takes place right after she was taken in the parking lot and it's really short. More action and stuff will come later. Enjoy...
The Computer
Chapter One
I had only been seven for three months when it happened.
My friend -Stacy or Macy, I can't remember- and I were playing at her house for a play date. Next thing I knew, her mom answered the phone. The hospital had called my grandfather informing him of a wreck apparently, and he was calling to say he had to pick me up.
As he sobbed on the way there, though I could tell even then that he was trying to hide it, I sat in the back seat and colored because I didn't realize what exactly was happening.
I had only been seven for three months when it happened. I lost my grandmother in a car crash. My parents were with her when it happened. I lost them too.
Then, it became just me and him for the next eleven years.
Now, here I am, sitting in the back of what seems to be a van. I'm not blindfolded like in the movies, nor am I tied up, giving my hands the opportunity to wipe away the tears in my eyes.
They hadn't formed because I was scared -even though I was-, instead them being present because the strange thing that man had used caused me to have a reaction other than the obvious use of making me pass out.
And that same man kept looking at me, seating in front of myself with his hands together.
He was probably waiting for the moment when I would open my mouth first, but I didn't want to give him the satisfaction. But he didn't look like the kind of guy that cared anyway.
As the van came to a halt, my body jolting a bit, the man stood up and opened the door.
"So," It was the first time I had spoken the entire trip, him grabbing my hand and leading me out of the van. "Why exactly are you in need of my assistance?" I asked, using the words he had before he captured me.
He smiled, his lips a bit lopsided but it fit him. Gesturing for me to walk ahead of him, I did so, feeling the presence of him behind me seconds later as we walked through another door. "That, Natalie Daniels, is a very important question."

Again, if anyone is actually reading this, 'The Computer' is only going to be a short story kind of deal. And I won't constantly be updating this. It's mainly just for the fun of writing it and will update when I can. There is no set schedule for this story's updates. Thanks for reading :)
Trailer in media section is the one AlyxMck made for 'The Test'. Just wanted to give them a shout out since I put it in this chapter for ya'll to see and they made such an amazing trailer :)
