Camren's POV-

"What happened?" I ask, looking around. Ayn, Amber, and Daniel stand around me with confused looks on their faces. 

"Where are our parents?" Ayn asks. 

"Come get your elephant ears!" someone yells at us. I look around to see that we are at a carnival. 

"What the Hades?" Daniel mutters.

"How'd we get here?" I ask quietly.

Amber says, "I don't even know. I thought that we were at your house."

"Well, we're not anymore," Ayn says. "I'm going to look around. Stay right here and don't move at all."

Ayn walks away from us and we stand there, waiting for her.

"Heroes!" a person yells behind us. "You're finally here!"

We turn around and see a few people standing there. "We've been waiting for this day for years!" another yells. Ayn runs back to us, giving us weird looks.

"What are they talking about?" she whispers to us.

"I think. . . us," Amber says, frowning.

"Come with us, Great Daniel, Mighty Camren, Sweet Amber, and Caring Ayn," one says. We all look at each other and bolt the other way.

"Do not run away! You're our heroes!" someone yells. I feel something strike my back and I fall down. Daniel falls down on me and Ayn and Amber fall down next to each other.

I squirm, trying to get up but I can't. "Daniel," I mutter, "get up."

He grunts as he stands up. "Sorry," he says while helping me up. We help Ayn and Amber up and start running again, dodging the creepy people. Someone runs right in front of us so we skid to a stop.

"Who are you?" Ayn asks, standing in front of us. Daniel joins her up there, leaving Amber and I alone.

"I can help you," he says. "I know that you are from the past but aren't the ones we want. But, I don't believe what they have told me, that you four are our saviors."

"What?" Daniel asks.

"There is a myth that four people would come and be our saviors. But I don't believe its you four," he says. "No offense."

"But they know our names," I say.

"Ah yes they do. I've told them the names because they believe everything I say," he says.

"And why do they believe you?" Amber asks him.

"I'm the King," he says. "But, I'm actually the good guy. My advisors aren't."

Ayn turns around and so does Daniel. "How do you know our names even before we came?" I ask him.

His dark eyes crinkle as he smiles. "Because I know. . . stuff." He gestures to a high tech car. "Do you want to join me?"

"Stranger danger," I say, rememebring what Mom and Dad taught me.

"Alas, I'm not a stranger. I've gone in the future and we've become best friends," he says.

"How'd you go in the future?" Ayn asks him.

"Technology. One hundred years ago a man made a time machine. It worked," the boy says.

"And how should we trust you?" Daniel asks.

"Camren, we became quite close in the near future. I can tell you something that only a select few people know," he says.

"And what is that?" I ask him.

"You aren't the shy girl everyone knows. Once I got to know you, I realized that you are amazing. You actually have emotions," he says.

"And? That's not good enough. These people know I'm not that shy once you get to know me," I snap.

"But do they know that you are amazing?" he asks.

"Yes!" I yell, walking closer to him. I grab the dagger from his belt and I push it against his neck.

"Do they know you have this side?" he asks.

"Uh-" I start to say but Ayn interrupts me.

"Cam, do you want to explain how you can do this?" she asks.

"I trained back home. Dad was teaching me how to use a sword because people have been bullying me," I say.

"What?" Amber says gently. "Why didn't you tell us?"

"I only told Dad," I say, not answering her.

"Do you want to tell us why you were getting bullied?" Daniel asks.

"I'm nothing like Parker. They wanted me to be as smart, as loud, as pretty. They said I couldn't possibly be Parker's sister because I am ugly," I whisper.

"You are one of the most prettiest girls I know," Ayn says, hugging me as I start crying.

"Care to take my knife away from my throat?" The King asks. I immediately do that and he rubs his neck. "Now you see how I know you. Do you want to join me in the car?"

I nod and Ayn let's go of me. The King opens the car door and Amber gets in. Daniel follows and so does Ayn. "Thanks..." I trail of because I don't know his name.

"Ren. My name is Ren," he says while smiling at me.

"Thanks Ren." He nods as he starts the car.

"I'm going to take you to the castle," Ren says. "You will be safe there."

"Are you sure?" Ayn asks, looking out of the windows.

"Yes," he says. "Its huge so you can hide."

He drives in silence and then he stops rather hardly. "We are here," he says while getting out. He opens the door for me and I get out with him.

Everyone else gets out and stares at the palace in wonder.

"This is really big," Amber says quietly.

"I told you," Ren says. We walk inside and he takes us to the way top of the castle.

"Why are you taking us here?" Daniel asks.

"Because there is a secret room that no one else knows about except me. And know you," Ren explains. "Now, hurry and get in there before someone comes."

We rush inside and he closes the door.

"I'll be back soon," he says and we sit in silence, waiting for him to come back.
