Chapter 10- Unedited

We all stared at them wide eyed no one dared to say anything, we knew this was coming but we never thought it would be this soon. Paul took my hand in his and squeezed it hard, Ethan on the other hand stood up and marched in front of the elderly men.

"It is I who is to be executed" Lisa became frenetic and screamed running towards Ethan

"It is not up to you to chose who is to die, its a decision made by the guard and we have decided that the new edition to your family is to be executed" the leader said

"But that cannot be," James argued

"James my friend even you know that the laws of the elementals state that twins cannot posses the same element, it is a threat to our people" the leader explained.

My heart was beating furiously in my heart, I could not believe that this is how it will all end that I will die like this, it was to much for me to process. I felt Paul's heart breaking when he looked at me, it was like he was the one sentenced to death and I was crushed by the thought of living him. I couldn't help but feel that my instinct had a mind of its own, it seems to my instinct that today was not really the day for me to die.

Paul stood up and looked at the leaders with so much sadness it was hard to watch.

"Can I at least get one more night with her" he said sincerely 

"I'm afraid you cant son, the time has come. We've given you enough nights together " the leader replied

"Then she is not going anywhere, rule or no rule she is my mate, the luna of this pack and as an alpha I say none of the twins is to be killed" Paul said proudly and I was touched by his words, I wondered if at all they would listen to him.

"Paul you cant go against the guardians of the elementals, I'm afraid they don't answer to you," James tried explain to Paul but he just shook his head furiously, I understood his frustration but I knew there was nothing I can do about it, if these people wanted me dead then that's whats going to happen.

"I'll go," I said in a small voice standing up and laying my hand on Paul's shoulders.

"You don't have to" he said to me

"I'm afraid I do, if this is my destiny then let it be" I said putting a bold face. I wasn't afraid of dying.

Paul looked at me long and hard, after sometime he leans in and kisses me with so much force, I start crying not because he is hurting me but because it hurts knowing that I wont see him ever again in my life.

We pull apart and he wipes my tears with his palm and I realize he has tears of his own.

"I'm sorry" he whispers and pulls me into a hug

"Its almost midnight, we should get going" the leader says

Ethan comes over and embraces me in a hug, "I'm so sorry I let you down" he says to me.

"Its not your fault Ethy" I reply

"I love you"

"I love you"

Everyone takes turns saying their goodbyes until I'm led into the forest with the guardians but none of my family is allowed to follow me because of some stupid rule. I walk with them in silent and I cant shake the feeling that something horrible is going to happen its like I'm walking towards an ambush.

"We are so glad you came with us," the leader said walking beside. We were now deep into the forest and nearing a small clearing, my heart still hurt from living the ones I love behind.

"Yeah sure no problem, I'm glad I came to my own death" I said to him, he laughed a cold laugh that sent chills down my spine.

"No dear, you got it all wrong. You see you my darling are going to make us the richest people to have ever live" he said. I stared at him dumbfounded. Suddenly they all stopped in the small clearing before I could even think about to ask why are we stopping, there came a sting on my arm.

"What the hell!?" I yelled out in pain

"Just a wolfs-bane to make sure you don't go all wolf on us" he said with a smile. I detected motion from the trees as and when I looked to see what it was my stomach dropped. I had been led to an ambush.

There, now standing and smiling like an idiot was a vampire and looking at him, he reminded me of the vampire I saw in my dream when I first saw my parents. He must be the son.

"Gentlemen you did a wonderful job thank you" he said to them.

"Sure boss" the leader said removing the hood of his cloak, he then went further to removing something from his face. My stomach dropped even further when I realized it was a musk, the old man was no more in the place was a young disgusting vampire.

"You fooled us" I whispered in disbelief

"Yes princess as a matter of fact we did" he replied

"She is the queen Neil" the boss corrected

"It doesn't matter Frank she's a fine piece can I have my way with her before you could kill her" Neil said coming next to me

"Don't you dare lay your hands on me" I growled

"Growl all you want princess, your wolf buddy will stay inside of you," My bood chilled when I remembered the wolfs-bane. I had to think and I had to think fast.

"Neil stop pissing of the royal highness" Frank said to him while grinning, he made me sick.

"What do you want with me?" I asked through gritted teeth

"To kill you of course"

"Then what the hell are you waiting for"

"I want your blood first" he said moving closer to me. I took a step back, I wasn't going down without a fight and I knew that I was badly outnumbered but I hoped that all the hours I spent training with Ethan will pay off.

"Seriously you want to fight the five of us? Alone?" Neil said

"Can we all get this over and done with?" one of the other guys said

I couldn't run back I was surrounded. The first one whom his name I didn't know charged at me with inhuman speed but I was faster, I dodged out of the way right before he got to me.

"Okay she's got skills"

I kept my focus on all of them, my eyes darting from one person to the other and I knew I had to stop doing that because it was going to make me lose control.

"Stop playing around and kill her" Frank said sternly

Focus, focus, focus. I kept chanting the words in my head just to keep me going. Neil threw a fist in my direction and it came so fast I didn't have time to react. It connected with my jaw and I flew a few feet away from them and landed painfully on the ground. They didn't even give me a chance to stand up, I received kicks from my sides. After a few minutes they stopped and stepped aside for their boss to come stand over me.

"You are so weak" he said with a smile. And that is exactly what I want them to think. With everything I had, I grabbed his ankle and snapped it, I was satisfied when, I heard the loud crack. 

He screamed out and others pounced on me but I moved out of the way fast and stood up despite my body resisting. I felt a strong punch on my face that sent me down on my knee and got kicked in the face and fell back with blood in my mouth. I wasn't ready to fight that I was now sure and I vowed that if I ever get out of this, I'll train even harder.

"Okay my lady now it time to die"

Ethan's POV

I was so crushed that Eleanor was being taken away, the twin bond we had was making me feel all the emotions that crossed through her and that all together was heartbreaking. I'm sure mom and dad are probably mad at me but I tried my best to stand in for her. Everyone was silent and Paul was much more broken than I was, I felt his pain and her pain as well.

Just as we all sitting, quiet and in disbelief, there appeared the same guardians who came to fetch my sister but she was not with them, I could feel she was still alive but I didn't see her.

"Good evening" they greeted

"Are you finished killing my granddaughter?" James asked bitterly

"James what are you talking about" the leader asked removing the hood of his cloak.

Just then something happened, I could no longer feel her presence, its like she had vanished into thin hair.

"Where is she?" one of the guards asked stepping forward

"What do you mean where is she? You just came and took her" Paul screamed

I felt a pain like no other, like I was being kicked in the face and I screamed out clenching my jaw.

"Ethan whats wrong" Lisa came standing in front of me. I felt another jab of pain in my face.

"The twin bond" the leader said "it is much stronger when one is in desperate need of help"

"James my friend, you have all been tricked, someone else came clearly acting like us. What we came to tell you is that we wont be needing to kill, she's the queen of elementals" I heard gasps from the crowd.

"The successor of Eleanora"

I didn't wait for them to finish what they were saying, I had to find my sister.
