Smokescreen has been captured by the decepticons during the dangerous mission with the autobots. Team prime (optimus prime,  arcee, Bumblebee,  bulkhead, ratchet, wheeljack, and ultra magnus) felt like its their fault that smokescreen sacrificed himself to be captured so they could escape.

One night, as the autobits are recharging, you somehow sneak through the portal (with a help of raf) while bringing smokescreen's phase shifter.

You: don't worry, smokescreen.  I will save you.

Back at the decepticon base, you managed to sneak past the cons and ran to the room where smokescreen is unconscious and tied up in durasteel ropes. You climb up the control panels and try to find the button that releases smokescreen.  Once you press it, the ropes are cut clean and smokescreen fell face first. He woke up slowly and is surprised to see you.

You: it's me, y/n. I'm getting you outta here
Smokescreen: y/n, I knew you would come.
You: oh and here. *tosses the phase shifter to smokescreen*
Smokescreen:  *takes the phase shifter* you brought the phase shifter? *puts the phase shifter back on his wrist* you're a life saver, y/n!
You: Hey. That's what friends are for.

You and smokescreen manage to escape from the decepticon base to the autobot base unscathed.

Next day, the autobots wake up to see smokescreen alive and well.

Smokescreen:  I wouldn't have escaped from there if it weren't for y/n.
Optimus prime: we are glad you are safe, smokescreen. That's all it matters.
