Chapter 42
As Adalie pressed play, she couldn't help but notice the tense aura in the room. It was understandable, though, considering that this would be the first official victory of TCF! Cale's team (yes, no one doubts that. Even the enemies begrudgingly agree that they would win that fight). And, while it can be said that they won many times like the one where they helped Toonka achieve victory, it wasn't the same because they merely assisted the man and didn't directly fight. So, yes, everyone was shaking with anticipation.
Chapter 150: Vicious (5)
Dawn was approaching.
"How long were you guys fighting." TBOAH! Amiru rhetorically said in surprise while blinking a couple of times. "It must have been either too fun or there were too many people."
"Probably the former." TBOAH! Gilbert answered. "I doubt they would take a long time defeating the fleets we saw before."
"True." TCF! Eric agreed. "I would have thought it was the latter before but after seeing their skills, I doubt."
The ocean was calm now that the storm was over. Cale looked up at the sky that was no longer covered by the large rain cloud that covered half of the Hais Islands and then lowered his head.
He had a single thought in his head.
'... Scary bastards.'
"Says the one who planned everything." TCF! Archie mumbled, slightly rubbing his arms due to the goosebumps that appeared. Seriously, he was already a little scared of TCF! Cale before and now, after watching what he was capable of, Archie is completely sure he did not want TCF! Cale as an enemy. He would rather die a hundred times before even considering on offending the man.
Cale was scared.
Multiple eyebrows were raised at this statement before everyone remembered that TCF! Cale was the type of person to say he was scared of someone even if he was stronger than them and shrugged it off. Besides, they saw that the world he lived in was not kinder compared to theirs so he must have already been used to seeing bloodshed, as sad as it sounds.
Everything was destroyed.
Other than the ships that reached the islands, all of the ships were floating in pieces after the whirlpools and the Whales got to them.
He could see corpses floating like black dots as well.
The kind ones looked away, not being able to bear to see how many people died even if they were evil enemies.
"Human ... are you shocked?"
Cale looked toward the Black Dragon, Raon.
"Human, is this too much for you? We had no other choice."
Raon shook his head as he started to speak in a serious tone.
"Sometimes, one side must die or get injured badly in order for the other side to live. You need to firm your resolve to survive the upcoming chaos. Goldie gramps said that there is nobody as unlucky as you."
"...Eruhaben-nim." TCF! Cale said after a few moments of silence, looking at the golden dragon who stared back at him.
"Did I say anything wrong?" the dragon asked with a raised brow. "I am sure that I've been calling you unlucky for quite some time now."
TCF! Cale's mouth opened and closed a couple of times, unsure of what he wanted to say as many tried to hide their laughs by disguising it as coughs.
"Raon."
"Yes, I can understand how unlucky you are. So just trust me, the great and mighty Raon."
"Let's go down."
"...Alright."
Cale let Raon's comments in through one ear and out the other as he headed down to the Hais Islands.
"It's because I probably wasn't affected much with it so I didn't see the need for you to comfort me." TCF! Cale explained to Raon who looked at him with pouty lips. "But I'm thankful for it."
The last statement made Raon smile at him brightly, happy that he was able to do something for his father.
The battle had continued from the moment the sun went down to right before the sun came back up.
"I'm surprised none of you fell asleep." Adalie said in awe. "I can't stay awake without at least eight hours of sleeping."
"How can you have such a long time to sleep?" TBOAH! Alberu asked in shock. "I barely have five."
"Lucky you." TCF! Alberu said with a frown towards his counterpart. "I only sleep three hours at most."
"I don't sleep at all." TBOAH! Duke Fredo said nonchalantly.
"You all need to work on your sleeping schedule." Adalie said with a worried look.
TCF! Cale stayed silent, knowing that he always had at least nine hours of sleep in his new world.
This overnight battle was, as expected, won by Cale's side.
"Tch, you only won because those men were weak." TBOAH! Adin said with a scoff. "If I was sent there, you would have all been eradicated under an hour."
It was a battle that they could not lose.
The Whale tribe, the Tiger Tribe, and Cale's group. Who would expect all of these strong forces to gather together to fight a common foe?
"True, in the history of the world, no one has ever joined forces with that many tribes. The most tribes combined that was recorded in the history book was two. And that was because a war was happening." TBOAH! Pen said, shocking many people because he was shown as a crybaby prince who wasn't capable of doing anything.
Tap.
Cale's feet landed on the sand.
Hais Island 6.
This was the island that the sword master Hannah was fighting on last night.
"What a mess."
Cale's gaze headed down in a diagonal direction to see Hannah just casually sitting on the ground. Her bloodied blade was stabbed into the sand.
"I hope you washed your hands, no, yourself five times after that." TCF! Beacrox said while scrunching his nose in disgust.
"If any of you appear in front of me like that..." TBOAH! Beacrox threatened his colleagues who didn't look even a little faze at all and just nod in agreement. They were already used with his personality after all.
Hannah raised her head and started to speak as if she was responding to Cale.
"Isn't it great to look at?"
She was covered in blood.
Cale felt disgusted after seeing that Hannah's blonde hair and black scars were not visible because she was completely drenched in blood.
It was not because she covered herself in someone else's blood.
"Hoh?" TCF! Hannah said in amusement after hearing that TCF! Cale wasn't disgusted by her habit.
"Hannah." TCF! Jack said with a frown as he looked at her. "Don't dirty yourself with unclean blood."
"...Yes, oppa." TCF! Hannah said after getting over her shock that her brother didn't say anything negative about what she had done in the screen.
Cale took out a potion and threw it toward Hannah.
"Enjoy it after you check your own condition. The Saint-nim will faint if he sees you like this."
"I stand corrected." TCF! Cale said after remembering the scene just moments ago. "Saint-nim won't faint because of the blood."
He'll faint because his sister will give him a heart attack." TBOAH! Jack murmured while looking at his sister meaningfully.
Hannah caught the potion and then started to laugh. Cale looked away from Hannah who was laughing even while bleeding from the injuries she received from the enemies' swords and arrows.
'She really is crazy.'
"Better to be crazy then boring." TBOAH! Hannah said.
"True." TBOAH! Elisneh agreed with a crazed look in her eyes.
"You aren't crazy." TBOAH! Jopis denied. "You're psychotic."
Both of these twins had something wrong with them.
"What's wrong with me?" TCF! Jack curiously asked but wasn't given an answer, much to his dismay.
Cale continued to look away as he watched the rising sun as well as the rest of his group slowly approaching Hais Island 6.
"Hey, Cale Henituse."
"What?"
Cale responded to Hannah without looking back. She continued to speak in a quiet but crazy voice.
"That was not enough blood."
"Just curious but how much blood do you need to be satisfied?" TBOAH! Bud asked.
"Hmm, I probably will be satisfied after I dye the whole world red." TCF! Hannah replied with a crazy smile, making some shiver in either fear or excitement.
"... I know."
Even I know by now that you are crazy for blood.
That was why there was something he wanted from her as well.
"What would you need from me?" TBOAH! Hannah asked with a raised brow. "You already got everything, even a bloodthirsty swordsmaster."
"Young master Cale!"
Witira quickly rushed to shore. He heard a quiet voice along with Witira's shout.
"... Thank you for keeping your promise."
Many looked shocked that she was thanking someone and stared at her incredulously.
"What?!" TCF! Hannah snapped with a red face from embarrassment. "I know how to thank people who were kind to me!"
"Unlike someone who only knows how to use other people for their own benefit and amusement." TBOAH! Duke Fredo murmured.
Cale had kept all of his promises. He kept her alive and gave her an opportunity for revenge just like he said he would. Hannah looked toward Cale, who was pretending to not hear what she said while walking toward Witira, and opened the lid of the potion.
"...Thanks." TCF! Hannah whispered to the man, knowing that he pretended to save her from embarrassment. Really, if she was interested in love, he would be her first choice. Unfortunately, both of them have more important priorities.
Cale and Witira were soon in front of each other.
"Young master Cale, there are no living humans in the ocean."
Cale just nodded his head after hearing Witira saying that they killed everyone with a smile on her face. She thought that this serious look was more Cale-like than being happy and continued to speak.
"We should be friends." TCF! Hannah told TCF! Witira. "I'm sure we'll get along."
"I think so too." TCF! Witira said with a smile on her face, realizing what the other girl was talking about as the Whales and some others in the room paled.
"Don't!" TBOAH! Archie frantically shouted. "The world will end if you two share ideas!"
"No, Cage, you can't join." Taylor said when he saw his friend, both versions, looked interested.
"First of all, we took care of all of the First Battle Brigade members. We are currently looking for the few subordinates who are hiding in cracks in cliffs, caves, or other random locations. I presume that we will be able to take care of all of them by lunchtime."
She was someone who had overwhelming strength, but this battle was difficult due to the number of enemies.
"It is annoying." Soo Hyuk agreed with an irritated smile, remembering the times in the past where his team was almost defeated because of the sheer number of weak enemies they had to face.
"We will take care of all of the bodies and the broken ships."
Cale, who had been quietly listening, started to speak.
"What about the ships that are still intact?"
"You'll use it." TBOAH! Jopis said, immediately realizing TCF! Cale's intentions. "In what way, though? I don't think you'll be fighting in the sea anymore considering that you have the whales as your allies."
"That is," added TBOAH! Witira with a cunning smile. "if the enemies are smart."
"Bitch!" TBOAH! White Star cursed in anger, not being able to calm down after hearing repeated insults about him.
"Wannabe-god." Paseton attacked, wanting to defend his sister. "You want to become a god when you're only a radish that can't even grow properly!"
"Now, now, Paseton-nim." TCF! Archie said, having enough of the arrogance of the white star. He respected warriors and was fine with arrogant people as long as they could back their claim. Unfortunately, the white star, as of now, was only arrogant without doing anything, all of his plans being foiled by TCF! Cale and his group. Thus, TCF! Archie was annoyed at him. "Someone never taught him the dangers of biting more than he can chew."
That made Witira look toward the ship currently docked at Hais Island 6.
Each island had some ships in good condition as well.
"I'm not sure. How should we take care of them? We don't really need them, so should we give them to another kingdom......"
"That would be such a waste of materials." Maes said with a frown, having learned how important everything was and could be because of TCF! Beacrox who taught him that lesson when he learned how to cook with his other siblings.
TCF! Beacrox looked at the young wolf proudly.
Witira, who intentionally did not finish her sentence, could hear Cale's voice.
"Can I have them?"
"Excuse me?"
Cale asked without any hesitation.
"Shameless." Jung Soo teased.
"You have to be if you want to get what you want." TCF! Cale said, not caring if his hyung was only teasing him.
"True." TCF! Alberu agreed, remembering the times he had to thicken his face in front of his father and TCF! Cale.
"I wish to take the remaining ships with me. Is that not allowed?"
Witira thought about how hard Cale had worked to create the whirlpools. She thought that she could see the exhaustion in Cale's eyes as she looked at him.
"I mean, I was probably tired but not to the point of exhaustion." TCF! Cale said after observing his future self.
"Young master-nim, you always look exhausted even if you do nothing." TCF! Hans said without minding the fact that he was talking badly about his boss.
"...Hans, you do remember who I am, right?" TCF! Cale asked with twitching eyes.
"Of course, young master-nim!" TCF! Hans chirped which made TCF! Cale sigh in defeat, not having the energy to deal with his butler's bullshit.
"No, that is fine. We have no use for the ships and we'd rather give them to you than to another kingdom."
"Great."
Cale worked hard to prevent himself from smiling.
"You failed." TBOAH! Odeus commented as he pointed at the screen. "Your lips are twitching."
"Something most people would overlook so it's alright." TCF! Cale said.
The ships he needed to use with the Golden Turtle Ship had rolled into him as a bundle.
It would be a great sight to receive the Northern Alliance's ships with the secret organization's ships.
"...You'll still fight against him in water when you lost horribly before?!" TBOAH! Bud shouted in shock, his jaw open. "Are you stupid?!"
"You dare insult me?!" TCF! White Star asked with a glare.
"Who else?" TCF! Bud asked with a roll of his eyes, not caring that he was speaking ill of someone who was supposed to be the mastermind of their pain.
Cale could hear Raon's voice in his mind. Raon was speaking into Cale's mind even though he was not invisible.
– Human, good job! We got some ships for free!
Raon definitely was getting smarter.
Raon preened at the praise while the two cats and the ancient powers pouted, vowing to speak more and appear smarter to be praised by their owner/parent.
Cale casually petted the head of the Dragon who was looking at him with sparkling eyes. He then looked toward Rosalyn, Mary, and Ron as he started to speak.
"How was it?"
"I quietly took care of everything."
"Good work."
Ron had his benign smile on his face as he quietly stepped away.
Cale saw that even Choi Han had arrived as he lifted his head up.
Caw. Caw.
He could hear the sound of a crow cawing.
Ooooo-
At the same time, the roar of wild animals echoed through the quiet ocean and the island.
It was the roar of the Tigers who had lost their families and tribe members. There was both joy, sorrow, and anger in their roars.
Everyone except the enemies bowed their heads in silence for a moment in respect to those who died, hoping that they would be happy wherever they were after death. This also made them more determined to grow stronger and smarter to avoid so many deaths, especially both Gashans who haven't lost most of his tribe yet.
Cale looked toward the crow that Gashan had sent as a signal that they were done and started to speak.
"Let's go to Hais Island 9."
Hais Island 9.
This was where everyone had agreed to gather.
"Let's celebrate with alcohol!" TBOAH! Cage cheered as she and her counterpart brought many bottles of alcohol out from their sleeves.
"Later." Taylor gently said. "We need to be sober right now."
"Like you can get drunk." TCF! Cage scoffed but followed his words.
* * *
Cale had let down his guard.
"Hoh?" the shield let out a surprised gasp. "Is it something stupid?"
"Hey!" TCF! Cale let out an offended shout but was ignored by most who agreed. After all, TCF! Cale was a man full of awareness in everything but those he thinks is useless (e.g. his health).
Cale realized his mistake once they got to Hais Island 9.
Many leaned in because of curiosity, especially the enemies, wanting to know what his mistake was.
The twenty Tigers with Gashan at the center were looking toward Cale with reverence as soon as he got to Hais Island 9.
"Oh shit." TCF! Cale immediately realized what his mistake was while TBOAH! Cale and Rok Soo laughed at him and at his misery.
Male, female, young, and old.
These Tigers that were huge regardless of whether they were young or old were all smiling at him with a bright smile that only Tigers could have.
Gashan approached him with his eyes closed. He has a smile on his face.
Unfortunately, all of them except for the very young and old were covered in blood. They were all covered in the blood of their enemies.
"A nice scene." TCF! Gashan said with a serene smile on his face which made people look at him in surprise because he was blind. Well, supposed to be because he was currently wearing a weird glasses.
"What's that?" TBOAH! Lily curiously asked.
"A special glasses Adalie-nim gave me to be able to see." TBOAH! Gashan answered.
"Why now?" TBOAH! Harol asked Adalie. "No offense but you could have given it earlier."
"It was only finished right now." Adalie explained with a sheepish smile.
Gashan cautiously started to speak to Cale.
"Young master-nim."
"No."
The Forest of Darkness was not an option.
Cale was taking that out of the equation right away.
"How straightforward." Jour said with an awkward smile but not chiding her son (stranger in her son's body...neh, Rok Soo was her son even if he wasn't born from her womb. Who says children should be birthed by you? You can take adopt someone and consider them your child.)'s decision. She understood his dilemma, after all.
"No, I just wanted to thank you."
Cale looked toward Gashan with a gaze that was full of suspicion.
"...Sorry." TCF! Cale said after hesitation.
"Don't be, young master." TCF! Gashan said with a serene smile. "It's normal to be suspicious of those who suddenly changes their mind about something important. Besides, nature told me not to worry."
Hearing that, TCF! Cale suddenly had a vague feeling of resignation and hoped it was just his imagination.
The shaman gently continued to speak. He sounded like a grandfather reading a children's book in his old and gentle voice.
The only issue was that he was speaking with a mouth covered in blood.
"Even better." TBOAH! Hannah said with a bloodthirsty smile.
"We were able to get proper revenge thanks to your abilities. We were able to hunt properly for the first time in a long time."
One of the young Tigers that had not reached their full size yet thanked him with sparkling eyes.
"Young master-nim, thank you very much!"
"Let's spare the children's innocence if this happens later." TCF! Choi Han said with a small wince after seeing such a young child thanking someone for the opportunity to kill.
"Agreed." TCF! Litana voiced out.
Gashan lowered his head toward the child and continued to speak with a bitter smile on his face.
"I need to take them to the Western continent because I think that we will continue to run into Arm if we stay in the Eastern continent. It would be great if there was even a small plot of land where we can stay until these children can grow up. We still have not gotten enough revenge either."
TCF! Cale grimaced, feeling guilty for not giving the tigers a place to stay even if they helped him (although they also benefited from it). Besides... they could be useful for the upcoming battle.
Cale started to frown. Gashan continued to speak.
"We have also brought some offerings to give to the landlord."
'Offerings?'
Cale looked toward Gashan.
Gashan slowly took a jewel out of his pocket.
"They know you so well, human!" Raon cried out in surprise.
"I want it!" exclaimed the fire of destruction, greedily eying the jewel on the screen. "Help them out, Cale!"
"The Tiger tribe is a tactful tribe. Each family gathered their medicinal herbs and precious items when they left their mountains."
The corners of Cale's lips moved slightly up before going back down.
"Ahem, hem."
Cale let out some fake coughs.
"Just admit that you like it, young master Cale." TBOAH! Tasha said with a small laugh at TCF! Cale's lame acting of not being interested.
The young Tiger started to shout.
"I brought some items too!"
The young Tiger took out a small bottle from his wide sleeve.
"These are two-hundred year old snake scales that were in our cave! I heard that they can become very strong arrowheads!"
'...The Tiger tribe seems to be a pretty decent tribe.'
Cale quietly improved his perception of the Tiger tribe.
"Lesson learned: to get on TCF! Cale's good side, make sure to give him valuables." Jung Soo teased, only to stare in shock when both Clopehs started taking notes.
Raon started to speak in his mind.
– Human, they seem nice.
'Right?'
TCF! Cale ignored the deadpan looks he was being given. It wasn't his fault he loves to earn valuable things to live a comfortable life.
"Hey, mom, can I give him some of my treasures when I ask him to teach me?" Dodori whispered to his mother who nodded in agreement.
"It might make things easier." Mila said.
Cale thought about how the chances of getting even more intertwined with the secret organization would increase if he took the Tiger tribe to the Forest of Darkness. However, he had another thought at the same time.
'When did avoiding things keep me away from these issues?'
"True." Sheritt agreed. "I noticed that you kept running into trouble whenever you try to avoid it and be discrete."
"He's an unlucky bastard." Eruhaben said in a tone as if that was the most obvious thing in the world.
Cale could not avoid the secret organization now that he was involved in the meeting between the four kingdoms and the Whales.
Cale looked toward Gashan and focused on the shaman's closed eyes as he started to speak.
"I have a condition."
It was at that moment.
"Oooh, ooooooooooh-!"
Cale flinched.
'What is wrong with this old man?'
"Nature's speaking to him." both Gashans explained with a calm yet curious look.
"Oooh, ooooooooooh-!"
Gashan suddenly opened his eyes.
His white eyes were opened extremely wide as he started to raise his hand with the wooden staff in the air. His large body was shaking.
'...This is scary.'
Cale subconsciously took a step back.
"It is." TBOAH! Gilbert agreed while rubbing goosebumps from his arms.
It was at that moment.
"The n, nature is speaking to me!"
Gashan shouted as he continued to shake.
'Ho.'
Cale could not believe what was going on.
However, Gashan's next words made Cale fix his thoughts.
"The n, nature is telling me that our Tiger Tribe will have to fight against cold swords next spring!"
"Eh?" many said in confusion while others realized that another clash between TCF! Cale and the white star would happen soon.
'Wow.'
Cale was amazed.
How could there be such a psychic shaman?
He started to get the chills.
"So it was true? Amazing." TBOAH! Duke Fredo said which made the elves and both Gashans in the room proud to serve under such an amazing thing.
'How did it know that I was planning on making the Tiger tribe fight against the knights of the Northern Alliance?'
"I should be included there." TCF! Hannah said with a serious look towards TCF! Cale.
"Do you think I'm stupid? Of course you'll be there." TCF! Cale said with a slight scoff. "If not, then I'm sure I assigned you to something more thrilling."
"Alright." TCF! Hannah said, satisfied with his words.
Cale stared at Gashan who was starting to calm down. Gashan's white eyes focused on Cale once he finally calmed down. Cale started to speak.
"That future will become true if you go with me. Are you okay with that?"
Gashan answered without any hesitation. He didn't even need to ask the others.
"Our Tiger tribe has lived too quietly for these past years. We will happily run wild if it has to do with our revenge."
Cale nodded his head.
"Then I welcome you."
Cale reached his hand out and the shaman shook it.
"Thank you young master-nim." TCF! Gashan said while bowing, his eyes slightly misting because his tribe has finally found a place to stay without worry. Plus, they will also get their revenge on those who wronged them. Unconsciously, a sadistic smile made its way on his lips which made some look away, pretending they saw nothing while others felt happy to find another member in their newly formed club called 'Sadist Unite' (can anyone guess who is the founder and president of this club?)
The Forest of Darkness was wide.
There was plenty of space for twenty Tigers.
"It is." TCF! Gashan said with a smile while his counterpart began thinking of making a deal with the Cale of his world. TBOAH! Cale suddenly got shivers and hugged his self, suddenly fearful of the future.
"That is wonderful."
Witira has a bright smile on her face as she started to speak. She had finally figured out why Cale hadn't been willing to accept the Tiger tribe until now.
'He didn't want the Tiger tribe to have to fight against the Northern Alliance.'
"I mean, technically... it is true." TBOAH! Obante said.
"Technically." TBOAH! Harol echoed.
It wasn't as if Cale did not have money. He would not be tempted by the Tiger's medicinal herbs and offerings.
"He was." TBOAH! Kora bluntly said.
Witira had heard that Cale was the son of a wealthy family. He was not the type to be greedy for their offerings.
"He is." Rok Soo stated.
If he was a greedy person, then there was no reason for him to put his most valuable asset, himself, on the line to help others without getting anything in return.
"I am greedy." TCF! Cale denied Witira's thoughts.
Witira started to speak.
"We will help you move the Tiger tribe and the ships."
This was her way of thanking Cale for helping out without expecting to receive anything in return. Cale naturally accepted her offer.
"You didn't have to repay me." TCF! Cale said. "Both of us benefited, after all."
"I know, young master, but you could have ignored us in the beginning as it would not have affected you in any way." TCF! Witira calmly explained. "We have nothing you need, after all."
"Thanks in advance."
"Of course. We also have to discuss the sea route issue."
The sea route to the Eastern continent.
Cale had the rights to this route up north that the Whales controlled. Cale opened his mouth to respond to that issue.
"Human, human!"
Raon took the video communication device out of his spatial dimension and approached Cale. The video communication device was shining red from a call.
"Sigh." TCF! Cale let out a large sigh which made TCF! Alberu, who remembered that his calls were red, glare at him.
"Is that how you respond when your crown prince calls you?" TCF! Alberu asked with a twitching smile.
"Of course not, your highness." TCF! Cale said with a smile as he activated his glib tongue. "I was just so touch that you would call me that I accidentally let out a sigh of happiness."
'That was not a sigh of happiness at all!' many thought in their hearts. 'It's a sigh of despair!'
"I see~" TCF! Alberu said with the same smile. "Then I guess I should call you more often, right?"
"You don't need to do that, your highness." TCF! Cale assured him with a bigger smile. "I know how terribly busy you are these days and do not wish to make life harder for you."
"It isn't any trouble at all!" TCF! Alberu denied. "In fact, it would be m-"
"Please, stop." TBOAH! Toonka begged while clutching his head in pain, not being able to handle it anymore. "Let's just watch."
"Damn." Rok Soo said with a small frown. "It was getting to the best part, too."
Raon continued to speak to Cale, who started to frown.
"It is the crown prince! Red means it is the crown prince!"
It was Alberu that was calling.
"Should I connect the call?"
Cale sighed at Raon's question and started to speak.
TCF! Alberu looked at TCF! Cale pointedly, as if telling him that his lie was caught. Unfortunately for him, TCF! Cale had a thick face and just smiled while pretending that he didn't understand why he meant which annoyed the prince.
"Let's connect him inside of the wooden building. Witira, Gashan, let's talk about the other issues later."
"Sure thing. Please respond to the crown prince first."
Witira answered back and Gashan nodded his head.
"At least some people have manners." TCF! Alberu said while glaring at TCF! Cale.
"What are you talking about, your highness?" TCF! Cale asked innocently. "I have manners."
"Says the one who answered the prince's call with an unbuttoned shirt." TBOAH! Bud said quietly.
Cale immediately headed into the wooden building after receiving the two leaders' responses and asked Raon to connect the call.
He then sat down on a wooden chair across from the video communication device.
Although it was hard compared to his usually soft couch, Cale did not care.
TCF! Cale shrugged at that fact. Although he was used to comfy and soft chairs and beds in this life, his past life was one where he used to sleep and sit on uncomfortable places, usually on the hard ground, in order to fulfill a mission or because they couldn't find any good chairs and beds. Well, it wasn't like he could be picky when his life was always on the line.
Alberu Crossman, the person who had told him to get some rest, was suddenly calling him.
He had a bad feeling about this.
"You always have a bad feeling when he calls." Pendrick noticed.
"Because he never brings good news." TCF! Cale said.
"You don't hear me complaining about the shits you've given me." TCF! Alberu told TCF! Cale.
"That's because I've given you more than enough benefits unlike you." TCF! Cale heartlessly said.
TCF! Valentino felt grateful that TCF! Cale wasn't in his kingdom. He was sure he wouldn't be able to handle the other man as well as the Roan kingdom's crown prince.
Cale greeted Alberu once his face appeared on top of the device. Alberu ignored Cale's unhappy expression and started to speak.
He launched a straight without any jabs.
– You don't know the Imperial Prince's face, do you?
The Imperial Prince was the Mogoru Empire's future king.
Both Adins looked curious at the sudden mention of them and wanted to know what it was about. Of course, TCF! Adin was cautious, already knowing how dangerous TCF! Cale was. Still, he was confident he would win.
Cale was at a loss for words.
He had an ominous feeling.
TCF! Cale also had the same feeling and immediately looked at TCF! Alberu.
"Whatever that is, I will say no." he said but was ignored by the prince because the latter knows the former would do what he is asking as it will probably benefit them both.
Cale tried to answer the best he could.
"Umm, I know the things I need to know, like the color of his eyes and hair. Mm, I bet I'll recognize him if I see him?"
– Whatever. Basically, you're saying that you've never seen him before.
Alberu continued to speak to Cale, who was avoiding eye contact in a tone that seemed to be saying that he knew what Cale was thinking about.
– I heard that you are guaranteed victory if you know your enemies and yourself. Go there.
"Let's end this first before you two fight again." TBOAH! Rosalyn said, annoyed at how long they were watching because of the two who kept fighting. She was hungry, damn it, and can't even eat while watching because of etiquette.
Cale started to speak.
"... Your highness, maybe my ears are going bad, but I believe that I heard something weird just now."
'Go there? To the Empire? Why would I?'
Cale did not understand why Alberu, someone who knew his personality well, would say something like that.
"I agree." TBOAH! Basen said. "I doubt his highness would say that to hyung without thinking it through."
– Ah, I said it wrong. Let me fix that.
TCF! Cale let out a sigh of relief.
Alberu raised his hand in a way that seemed to admit that he was wrong.
– Let me rephrase.
An even greater straight landed on Cale as Alberu started to speak again.
– Go to the Empire with me.
'Go to the Empire with him?'
"A date?" TCF! Tasha slyly asked which made TCF! Alberu to gawk at her in shock.
"Aunt!" he cried out as eyes started sharpening over him. "You know that's not it!"
Poor Alberu, looks like he'd have to deal with overprotective fathers and friends after this.
– To do something big.
'... To do what? Something big?'
Cale could finally see the smirk on Alberu's face. Cale's frown quickly disappeared.
Cale leaned back into the wooden chair and started to speak.
"Let me hear what you have in mind."
"Oh no." TCF! Eric said in horror. "There's two evil masterminds."
The looks he received made many laugh.
