Part 91 - Moving onto a new case

Sorry I'm late! I'm terribly sorry! No excuses from me, here's some calm chapter. Enjoy ^.^
———————————————

(Nogla POV)
I was sitting at my house, watching some nothing telling TV show with my dogs on my lap. My life lost any points in living it. I started to think about changing the profession. Something calmer and without so many secrets around. My phone went crazy, dragging me into reality, and I looked at the display, just to see boss name on it. I answered it immediately.

"Get your ass to the City bank, David. And grab Mark with you."

"What?" I managed to ask.

"Do as I say, no time for the questions."

And with that he cancelled the phone call. I carefully pushed my dogs away and lazily stood up. It took me literally five minutes to get dressed, not really caring about my look, and get into my car.

Shite, get Mark, huh? How am I suppose to know where he lives?

So I started the engine and called my boss back. He picked it up immediately.

"What?" He shouted frustrated.

"I dunno where Mark lives, boss," I informed him.

He said me his address and I drove to him. I felt really tired. From so many things I had to solve. From Lui through Mark to Tyler and Evan. I was fed up with it.

This is my last case. I'm quitting this job!

When I got to my destination, I got off the car. I walked towards the house Mark was supposed to live in. I knocked on the door and waited. It took him a long time before he opened the door.

"What?" He snapped at me.

"It's good to see ya too. We have to go to City Bank, boss called me," I announced.

"That was fast. Alright, yeah. Let me just grab my jacket," he replied, shutting door at my face.

I turned myself to my car when I saw familiar person getting off the car.

Evan?

He looked at me and froze, while I walked towards him. His friend with green colored hair looked at me uncertain what to do.

"Hi," I greeted Evan, shoving my hands into the pocket of my jacket.

I remembered our last time we met. It was when Evan was in the hospital, refusing to give away Delirious.

"David? This city is really a small place. What are you doing here?" He asked shocked.

"Just grabbing my partner along the way. How are you feeling?" I asked, hearing the door closed behind me.

"I'm fine, really."

"Can you wait for me in the car?" I heard Mark's voice behind me.

I nodded and walked to my car, sitting down. I had a perfect view on what was going on ahead of me. Mark talked to both man, looking all pissed off. He yelled at the green haired man, the words were muffled by the distance. He then turned to my way and walked towards me.

"We're good to go," he said, when he sat on the passenger seat.

"You know Evan Fong?" I asked, starting the engine.

"Yeah. He's a rich person and I did a few things for his father before I became an FBI agent."

Make sense.

"What Greg said? Some bank? Like a robbery?"

"Dunno, most likely a robbery. He just said to drag my ass and yer ass there."

"Interesting," he replied.

I miss Lui so much. This kind of conversation is not what's filling my heart with a joy. I loved doing this job, mostly because Lui was there.

We arrived there, and I noticed others who were already there. We got off the car. Two men were carrying a bag filled with body to the funeral car. I sighed and walked towards our boss, who was standing in front of the main entrance, giving some orders to others.

"Evening," Mark greeted him.

Greg looked at us, and I just nodded.

"Disgusting. This guy is a fucking maniac, let me tell you. Nobody survived. He didn't let one person alive, it's massacre in there. Around thirty seven bodies. And he used some shit to boost his bullets, it went straight trough the glass! Poor woman," he said, looking at the bag with body.

What? This sounds horrible! Who could do things like this?

"Interesting," Mark whispered.

"He took probably around two million dollars. And what's most annoying that they weren't anyhow marked! We can't track them."

"What about camera systems?" I asked, looking around.

"They were fucking disabled! There's no footage of what was going on here, that bastard!"

"Really?" Mark mumbled, frowning a bit.

"But we managed to find out some fingerprints. That's our only chance. I already sent boys with the samplings, Gustavo is working on it by now."

"I'm going to check on that," Mark said steadily.

I looked at him suspicious. He wasn't acting normally, and I didn't like it. After I connected his interest in Delirious with Tyler, I was certain he was onto something.

"Thanks, Mark. David, I need you to contact the families and tell them about their beloved ones. We're writing down victim's names."

"Can I say no? I'm not in the mood-" Greg didn't let me finish my sentence.

"You're not in the mood from the moment Lui left. I'm not asking you, this is an order."

Motherfucker!

After I successfully finished this task, I called Mark about the results. I wasn't interested in a first moments into this at all, but after I saw how many people were coldly murdered, my curiousness got into my veins once again.

"Hi," I greeted him, after he answered the phone.

"What?"

"What did you find out?" I asked interested.

"Huh? Oh... nothing. It was from one of the employee, false alarm."

Oh, but I don't trust you. I'm not stupid, you piece of shite! Yer hiding something.

"Ok, good night," I said, faking my yawn.

"See you at work," he said quickly, turning the call off.

I arrived to my work after midnight. There weren't many people, so I wasn't afraid of of somebody asking me some questions. I walked downstairs to the lab, where Gustavo usually was. But it was empty. There were a few things on the table, but I needed just that from today. I sighed and decided to ran a few tests myself.

After a few tests, I got one name. One name I knew too well. One name which was supposed to be a victim, not a cold murderer.

Evan Fong.
