The lone dark haired male stood in the center of the park, no light in close proximity. The singular lamp a great distance away from him casting dark and eerie shadows around his frail body. He stared up at the night sky, the midnight blue and purple hues speckled with millions of tiny, brightly glowing stars. The moon vanished into the night the day prior due to its cycle as the fog settled in around him, caressing his body tight. He remained motionless and staring up at the sky, watching the stars twinkle brighter and fade only slightly just to twinkle brightly again. He made a wish upon the brightest star, hoping that it would come true. That he would find his soulmate and they could go somewhere far away from here together.

His was a lonely existence. No one to really call a friend and more bullies that used him for their needs rather than beat him. Some days, he felt he'd rather take the beating than see their disgusting faces in pure ecstasy as they used him however they desired. He'd tried to fight back one time. That was when they felt it necessary to beat him into submission. He ended up in the hospital and they still got what they wanted from him. He was tired of it all. He was ready to just end it all. Only, he really didn't want to do that to his parents. They loved him dearly, they cared for him so much that he was hesitant at this moment. Hesitant to take his own life, even though he could hear the water rolling violently under the bridge that he finally rested his hand upon.

He heard the rustle of the leaves swaying gently in the breeze and turned his head toward the source and surprisingly, there was another young man present. He was sitting on the banister of the bridge, staring right at him. It was almost as if he were staring through him though. "Hey," the mysterious man greeted, offering a small wave and a comforting smile as well. The dark haired male hadn't heard him approach nor had he even noticed him climbing onto the banister right beside him. How had he been so silent and unnoticed?

The other male did appear familiar to him in a sense and he figured he must have seen him at school at least once. "Hey," the dark haired male greeted back, offering a small smile as well. The other male glanced back at the water gliding swiftly under the bridge, aware of the rocks that were just inches below the surface of the water. "What are you doing here? You obviously didn't come to enjoy the park," the other stated so blatantly as the dark haired male concentrated his question.

"Why are you so curious?" The dark haired male asked, chuckling softly under his breath. The other male was quiet for several seconds before laughing himself. "I'm just curious by nature, I guess. Were you planning on ending your life?" The other male asked softly and sincerely, causing the dark haired male to freeze completely. "Wh- Why would you ask that?" The dark haired male asked, faltering over his words as he realized just how transparent he was to this mysterious male now. "It's just a question, but by your reaction, I have my answer," the other stated nonchalantly, shrugging as those hauntingly beautiful and piercing eyes stared straight through him once again.

"No, i- it's not like that," the dark haired male continued to struggle with his words, watching as the other's eyes continued to pierce his very core. "If it's not like that, then why are you here?" The mysterious man asked softly, leaning back on his hands as he continued to watch the wheels turn in the dark haired male's head. The dark haired male finally removed his hand from the banister of the bridge with a heavy sigh, hyperaware that the mysterious man was watching his every move. "Fine... You were right the first time. I... was contemplating it, although I am aware that I wouldn't be able to go through with it," the dark haired male finally admitted as the mystery man clicked his tongue.

"That's unfortunate. The water is cold and there are so many sharp rocks that could hurt you or kill you. Plus, you're such an attractive man. What honestly drove you to this decision?" The mystery man asked softly as the dark haired male's cheeks flushed at that comment. He'd never been called attractive before. Just a slut or sex toy. "I- I- I," the dark haired male stuttered over his words significantly now as the mysterious young man laughed softly. "Easily embarrassed too. That just adds to your innocence and adorable factor," the mysterious man added as the dark haired male remained quiet in his embarrassment. "But seriously, what drove you to your decision? Even if you're aware you can't follow through," the mystery man asked yet again, drawing the dark haired male's attention back.

"The bullies at school..." The dark haired male trailed off, offering no other explanation about his predicament. The other tilted his head in thought at that vague sentence, his haunting eyes focused solely on him. "People are so full of hate. Many are disgusting," the other commented nonchalantly, drawing the focus back to the dark haired male thinking this man could see right through him. "It's hard to look past what people do to hurt us. Believe me, I've been there before and it isn't pretty trying to fix the emotional scars. The choice you're making is an easy way out, yes but one that will follow us into the afterlife," the mysterious male noted, leaning forward once again. His haunting eyes focused on the dark haired male's innocent, round eyes as he saw himself reflected in them. He dropped his head down to stare at the ground, despising what he saw in them. "My advice to you is save your parents the heartache of losing you. No parent should ever have to bury their child. If the world was perfect, we wouldn't have to bury our parents either," the mysterious male continued, and the dark haired male felt a sudden spark ignite deep within his heart.

This man, as mysterious as he was, was also extremely intelligent and shared some of the same views. He was vexingly beautiful with elegant features and graceful movements. The unusual man looked like one of those princes from his favorite Disney movies as he found himself staring. The dark haired male suddenly realized what that spark inside his heart was as he continued to stare at the other's side profile. The other male's silvery eyes shifted toward the dark haired male and the dark haired male felt another instantaneous throb within his heart. "What's your name?" The dark haired male inquired, watching as the other male smiled softly. "Taehyung," he answered almost inaudibly as the dark haired male smiled back. "Well, Taehyung. My name is Jungkook," the dark haired male announced proudly, holding his hand out for Taehyung to shake.

Taehyung stared at Jungkook's hand for several seconds before he firmly gripped it and shook. Jungkook retracted his hand hesitantly, staring up at Taehyung for several moments. "Your hand is so cold. You should get home before you get sick," Jungkook whispered softly as Taehyung raised an eyebrow. "Are you going to leave with me? I'm not leaving you here by yourself," Taehyung insisted as Jungkook chuckled softly and nodded. "Yeah, let's leave together. What direction do you live?" Jungkook asked, running a hand through his dark hair. He was more than willing to walk Taehyung home and see what his life was like to put him here at night as well.

Taehyung was silent for several moments before he jumped off the bridge banister. "I'm fine walking home by myself. Plus, it gives me plenty of time to think about how we can fix things for you," Taehyung whispered as Jungkook felt a small twinge of sorrow stab his racing heart. Taehyung was so close to him now that he could almost inhale the sweet scent of vanilla and strawberry as Taehyung's piercing eyes saw right through Jungkook. "If things were different... I'd have allowed you to walk me home, but now, I just want to help you survive your torment," Taehyung whispered wholeheartedly, leaning even closer to Jungkook. "I'm glad that you could talk to me about what was troubling you. I'll do what I can to help. Come find me again," Taehyung added before pressing a firm kiss against Jungkook's cheek before turning his back and strolling away in the opposite direction Jungkook lived.

Jungkook stared at Taehyung's retreating figure, his face heated and flushed as he bit his lip. He'd definitely come find Taehyung at this park again or at school if they attended the same high school. Maybe then he could have a friend or even better, a boyfriend. He hated his thoughts for that one, but he couldn't help but find himself seduced by Taehyung and it was almost instant too. Jungkook began his trek home as the sun crested the horizon, hues of pink, lilac, and orange dusting the morning sky, Jungkook finally realizing just how early in the morning it was.

When he reached his home, his mother was waiting by the front door for him, her frantic cries of sorrow piercing his ears. When he rushed to see what was the matter with his mother, he noticed an officer standing on the porch with his parents. He tilted his head in confusion as he approached his parents, noticing that there were tears in their eyes. "Mom? What's wrong?" Jungkook inquired softly, terrified of the answer he might receive? When his parents heard his voice, his mother's head whipped straight up as both his mother and father rushed to hug him. Jungkook, in his confusion, hugged them back and tenderly patted their backs as the officer appeared to be embarrassed. "What's going on?" Jungkook asked yet again, his confusion only increasing as his mother sobbed heavily into his shoulder.

"I apologize for the confusion. I must have had the wrong information," the officer stammered out as Jungkook quirked an eyebrow in confusion. It was then that he received an explanation from the officer as he spoke into his walkie-talkie. "It appears the body we found wasn't Jeon Jungkook's. He's standing in front of me with his family," he whispered barely audible, but Jungkook was certainly able to hear it. "Again, I apologize. People had seen you heading to the bridge near the park, so my superior automatically assumed it was your body that had been found before the autopsy was finished," the officer apologized softly, bowing his head before taking his leave.

"I was there, but obviously I'm okay... Who's body did they find?" Jungkook inquired softly as his parents continued to hug and kiss on him. Something in the back of his mind bothered him. He hadn't seen a body nor did he see anyone dredging the river for a body. Had this all taken place in the 30 minutes it took him to walk home? He wasn't sure how this had all transpired due to his lack of sleep, but he would soon find out.

That next morning, after the newspapers had been delivered, Jungkook's father opened the door to see the paper. He picked it up and carried it into the kitchen so that he may read as he ate his breakfast. It just so happened that Jungkook sat across from him this morning and when his father opened the newspaper, Jungkook recognized the man on the front page. On the front page was the picture of a handsome local high school student with elegant features with the caption: High school drop out commits suicide at the memorial bridge. Jungkook didn't have to read the article to know who's body the police had found that morning. He immediately recognized Taehyung in the picture and he felt his heart drop and shatter into sorrow that stabbed him. The cry that left his lips was one of anguish and grief as he bolted from the table and ran towards the bridge where he'd first met Taehyung.

The entire time he ran to that bridge, his parents called his cell phone out of uncertainty. Although, he didn't answer a single call, even after he'd reached his destination. The bridge had been sectioned off with yellow police tape, but Jungkook didn't care. He ducked under it and slowly approached the bridge he'd already contemplated jumping off. He couldn't believe that he'd met Taehyung right before he jumped as he peered over the edge of the bridge's banister. "You didn't meet me before I jumped," came the nonchalant and deep voice of another as Jungkook jumped back from the bridge. He frantically peered around him, but there was nobody present as Jungkook touched his ear. The voice sounded as if they'd been right in Jungkook's ear and Jungkook recognized that voice as Taehyung's. He frantically searched the area around the park, looking for him as if Taehyung were playing a nasty prank on him. "Please come out," Jungkook finally begged, breaking down and collapsing to his knees as tears trickled down his cheeks.

He felt so hollow now comprehending that Taehyung had jumped before he'd even gotten to meet him. Although, now that he thought back to their conversation, it made perfect sense. Some of the things Taehyung had been telling him were indications not to follow in his footsteps. Jungkook wailed harder for his lost love interest, his sobs filling the silence around him. Taehyung may have been the only person to ever show any interest in him and he was gone now. No longer a living being on this earth. In his sorrow, Jungkook felt something tenderly and comfortingly caressing his back. Jungkook lifted his head suddenly to find a whispy and cloudy figure crouching in front of him. "I told you to come find me again," Taehyung's voice faltered softly, still caressing Jungkook's back. "I'm still here. Now forever stuck reliving the decision I made which was why I talked to you about your decision. It isn't worth it," Taehyung whispered as Jungkook sat up completely now. "Why'd you do it?" Jungkook asked softly, rubbing his round doe eyes as he hiccuped loudly.

Taehyung chuckled softly, caressing Jungkook's cheek now, the feeling cold against Jungkook's skin. Although he didn't mind it one bit as he leaned into Taehyung's cold touch. "Life has a funny way of playing out some of the worst in people. I... was bullied too. Although my harassment came to a head and I was the one expelled because the one I attacked was captain of the football team and the first string quarterback," Taehyung disclosed, sighing softly as if he'd regret his decisions that led him here. Jungkook sniffled softly as he reached out for Taehyung's astral being and laid his head on Taehyung's shoulder. "What did you do to get expelled though?" Jungkook asked softly as Taehyung laughed proudly now. "I bit his dick off," Taehyung assured as Jungkook remained motionless at the circumstances. "No more future generations for him, but rather than call it a crime of passion from bullying, he wanted to press charges against me. Saying I did it on purpose, that it was premeditated when I begged to give him a blow job. I never asked for that. Not once. So I feel he got what he deserved," Taehyung whispered softly, his voice barely audible as if he regret that decision anyway. "I was labeled a 'high school drop out' to keep the school out of the newspaper and out of trouble for allowing things to escalate as they did..." Taehyung trailed off, glancing out at the evening sky.

"It's getting late. You should get home before your parents assume you've committed the same unspeakable act," Taehyung whispered, helping Jungkook to stand to his feet. "I'll always be here... So come find me when you need me again," Taehyung offered softly, kissing Jungkook's cheek once again. Although the offer was for when Jungkook needed Taehyung, Jungkook visited the park every day and spent unrealistic hours there, talking with Taehyung. Although to everyone else, the young man was losing touch with reality as he sat on the swing and spoke to himself every day. Although to Jungkook, he was forming a bond with Taehyung that he hoped would lead to a serious relationship, even if Taehyung had already passed. He too, one day, would be able to stand beside Taehyung's astral form and be with him in the afterlife.
