Chapter 1

Humming gently to myself, I wait outside the twins class at kindergarten, looking around at all the privileged and rather posh looking parents surrounding me. Women wearing expensive looking clothes and having prestigious brands around their necks and arms. Men in crisp suits, on the phone to clientele. Instantly, I begin to feel out of place. Nervously smiling toward the mothers who look down at their noses to look at me, arching a brow toward my skittish persona, scoffing under their breaths when I wave sheepishly toward them. Probably thinking how could someone as young as me be able to afford for my children to come here.

Considering I have no children, it's quite hilarious.

As part of my job, every Monday to Friday, I have to come and pick up Kōri and Ryoku from their classes at kindergarten after my own classes at College. Luckily, it fits in perfectly with my schedule, my class finishing fifteen minutes before the twins finish school which gives me a good ten minutes to come and set up camp outside to collect them. Also, it's lucky that I can drive a car. Unfortunately, I also have to deal with rather uptight parents who think that the world revolves around them and their children and nothing else.

As my thumb slides over my phone, my eyes scrolling over my feed on Instagram while I wait for their class to finish. Leaning against the brick wall behind me, my eyes fall upon two black heels clicking to a stop as they halt before me. Clearing my throat gently, I look up at the owner of the shoes, sending them a small smile as they look over me. A rather snotty look about her. Her icy blue eyes staring me down.

"What are you doing here?" She asks rather rudely, making me shove my phone in my pocket and straighten myself up as I look up at her, her heels making her a lot taller than I am, "College students shouldn't be around here, let alone afford to even walk near a place like this,"

"I'm here to pick up Kōri and Ryoku Todoroki, ma'am," I reply with a sweet smile, laughing on the inside as she bristles at my comment, her eyes widening slightly, "I'm their babysitter so if you would, could you kindly leave me to do my job? Thank you,"

"As if Todoroki would hire someone as young as you, youngsters are so irresponsible," She shoots toward me with a small hum, crossing her arms over her chest, "I'm reporting you to the school for trespassing, your lies don't mix well with me. You're probably some spy for the League of Villains,"

"Go ahead, and they'll tell you that I'm working for the Todoroki's," I reply, biting my tongue to not cuss this woman out, not really wanting to lose my job so close to starting it, "It'll be a waste of time,"

She straightens herself. Refusing to believe me as she turns on her heels as the door to the classroom opens. The boys' teacher teeters out, sending the parents a bright eyed smile. A line of children stood behind her, each one trying to push in front of the other to leave school and get home before the others. The twins were near the front, their eyes sparkling at noticing my presence making me giggle and send them a little wave.

"Miss (Y/n) for Ryoku and Kōri Todoroki?" The teacher calls out, smiling toward me as I raise my hand gently and walk over to her, gathering the twins bags into my arms and slinging them over my shoulder, "How are you today, (Y/n)?"

"I'm good, although this rich bitch thinks that I'm here to kidnap the boys," I reply with a small laugh, watching her face contort into suppressing a laugh, "Keep an eye on her for me, she seems quite dodgy if you know what I mean,"

"I'll do my best," she replies with a small giggle, winking my way as I ruffle the boys hair with a grin, "See you tomorrow boys, behave for Miss (Y/n),"

"Bye bye, Miss Nakamura!" The twins chirp in sync before holding my hands, Ryoku on my left and Kōri on my right, smiling toward me as we head off, "Hi, Miss (Y/n)!"

"Hello boys," I reply with a giggle, smiling sweetly toward the old tart who gawks at me with wide eyes as I head down the pathway, "I'll see you same time tomorrow, lady! Have a nice evening!"

"You're so silly, (Y/n)," Ryoku says with a grin as we head toward my little car that's second hand from my older brother, it's still a good little car and it gets me from place to place (and I don't need to pay it off either!), his eyes sparkling at the bag of candy in the middle of their car seats as I open the door, "Candy!"

"Hold on a second there, mister," I say, arching a brow as he clambers into his booster seat and lets me buckle him in, "Thats not for you, it's for me and my roommate,"

"Why?" Kōri asks tilting his head as he sits in his booster seat, ready for me to buckle him in, giggling as I blow a raspberry, "Is it her birthday?"

"No, it's a present," I reply with a smile, poking his nose as I finish buckling him in and shut the car doors, setting their backpacks into the trunk before getting into the drivers seat and buckling myself in, "My friend and I passed our recent mock exams so we're gonna have a little party,"

"Can I come?" Ryoku asks as I turn the key and the car whirrs to life, "Please!"

"Sorry, Ryoku, but it's for big girls only," I reply with a small smile, manoeuvring out of the parking lot and driving toward their home with a small hum, "Now, how was your day boys? Do anything exciting?"

"I got a gold star for my reading!" Ryoku chirps with a smile, pointing toward the golden star sticker on his shirt, grinning proudly to himself, "I read a big word too! It was participation!"

"Wow! That's amazing, Ryoku! Good job!" I praise with a smile, gently pressing on the breaks as the traffic light lights up red, "How about you Kōri?"

"I got a gold star too," He replies fiddling with the buckle on his car seat with a small smile, his voice close to a whisper since he was so quiet like his father, "I got my times tables right,"

"Well done, sweetie," I hum, stepping on the gas as it lights up green, cruising down the road before parking in the driveway of the Todoroki household, turning the car off and helping the twins out of their seats, "What shall we have for dinner then?"

"Soba!" Kōri squeals excited, jumping up and down as I unlock the front door, letting the twins race in and slip their shoes off, "Soba! Soba! Soba!"

"Katsudon!" Ryoku squeals, even louder than his younger twin, wiggling his little bottom excitedly as he does a little dance, excited at the thought of having katsudon for dinner, "Katsudon! Katsudon! Katsudon!"

Rolling my eyes playfully, I set their backpacks onto the dining table and open them up, pulling out their lunchboxes and placing them beside their bags. Humming gently as I pull out their artwork from the other day, my heart aching at the sight of a family picture done by Kōri, including me in it too. Why were these children so cute?! Smiling, I pin the artworks to the fridge, rubbing the back of my neck as I study them with a hum. Ryoku's artwork based on his favourite hero, Dynamight. Grabbing their lunchboxes and beginning to empty them, throwing wrappers into the bin and cleaning them out before setting their bags on their pegs. Walking to the livingroom to check on the boys.

"Have we come to a decision?" I ask leaning against the doorway, smiling as they watch cartoons, "Or shall I decide?"

"You decide, (Y/n)," Ryoku says with a grin, "You make the best dinners ever!"

"Alright, how does chicken curry sound?" I ask with a smile, watching their eyes light up at the mention of it, from what Mr. Todoroki has told me, Ryoku's favourite hero adores spicy curries, "I'll take that as a yes, how spicy?"

"Like last time, please," Kōri says with a small shy smile, snuggling into the couch as he watches tv with his brother, "Thank you,"

"You're welcome, boys," I reply, ruffling their hair before stretching gently and heading toward the kitchen, opening the fridge to pull out some chicken from the shelf and the vegetables from the cupboard, setting them on the chopping board ready for preparation.

Babysitting twins was always a challenge, or that was what was expected. However, these boys weren't that bad. Sure, Ryoku has his moments where he has a bad day and gets upset which will end up with him clinging onto my leg for comfort until his parents get home. And sure, Kōri does have his tantrums despite his quiet demeanour... but they're so well behaved it's a blessing. I could even do homework while on the job since they were so well behaved.

While I chop up the chicken into cubes, oiling a pan up to cook the chicken before putting them in the curry, Kōri teeters in silently and gently tugs on my pant leg catching my attention. The little black haired boy shyly holding his hands behind his back and swaying gently with a hum.

"Everything okay, honey?" I ask with a smile placing the chicken in the pan, the meat sizzling in the oil before I turn my attention to him, "Whats up?"

"Can I help?" He asks softly, his fingers playing with the hem of his shirt as he looks up at me with those cute heterochromic eyes, "Please?"

"Of course you can, sweetie," I reply, poking his nose gently before grabbing a stool for him to stand up on, helping him onto it and grabbing a mini apron, tying it around his waist, "You can help me wash the vegetables,"

"Thank you," he says with a smile, rolling his sleeves up as I fill a bowl of water and hand him some celery to wash while I chop up the onion, "Why do we need to wash it?"

"Because otherwise it'll be dirty and it'll make your tummy go funny," I reply, grabbing the curry sauce and pouring it into the pot with the onions and tomatoes, adding the chicken into the pot and letting it cook away before chopping the celery and adding it, "Then you can help me stir the pot,"

"You're so good at cooking, (Y/n)," Kōri says as I pour the water into the sink and pick him up into my arms, letting him stir the pot, "Are you gonna be a chef?"

"That's the dream," I reply with a giggle, making sure he doesn't burn himself as he stirs the wooden spoon around the pot, "I would like to own my own restaurant and cook for all kinds of people,"

"That's so cool," Kōri says giggling, letting me place the lid back onto the pot before setting him down, letting him run back to the livingroom while I prepare the rice.

The front door opens while I begin plating up the food, the boys squealing for their father as he walks in with a chuckle. Picking them up into his arms and kissing their foreheads while I place the plates onto the dining table, making sure that everything is on place. Shoto sitting down at the head of the table with the twins either side of him.

"Good evening, Mr Todoroki," I greet with a smile, wiping my hands on a kitchen towel, the male sending me a small smile as I hand them their cutlery, "How was your day?"

"It was good, Bakugo needs to reel himself in but that's about it," he says with a small hum and points toward the empty chair next Ryoku, "Come join us, you're part of the family after all,"

"It's okay, I'll stand," I reply sending him a small smile, a small giggle leaving my lips as Ryoku pouts toward me, "I couldn't possibl -"

"Please, (Y/n)?" Ryoku asks with a small whine, patting the seat next to me, Kōri nodding with him with small hint of puppy eyes, "Pretty please with ice cream and sprinkles and cherries and chocolate sauce and -"

"Okay, okay, I'll join," I reply with a giggle, ruffling Ryoku's hair as I take my seat, running my fingers through my own hair before taking a bite of the curry, a giggle leaving my lips when Shoto coughs at the spiciness of the curry, "You alright, Mr. Todoroki?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," He replies, punching his chest a couple times with a small groan, shaking his head while clearing his through before digging back into the food, "Hows the uni work going?"

"Good," I reply with a small smile, taking a mouthful of rice and gulping it down, "My roommate and I are having a little celebration after passing our mocks,"

"Sounds good," Todoroki replies with a smile, grabbing a tissue from the side to wipe Kōri's mouth from the curry sauce, "I hope the twins have been behaving,"

As conversation continues, Mrs Todoroki (Momo Yaoyorozu, otherwise known as Pro Hero : Creati) arrives home. The black haired beauty kissing her husband gently before going to kiss her sons on their foreheads happily. A small smile gracing her features before her eyes sparkle at the sight of curry, instantly rushing to make herself a plate. The mother of the family beginning conversation with her little boys and husband. Giggling toward her sons as they tell her everything about their day before looking toward me with a bright smile.

"The curry is absolutely delicious, (Y/n), you could be a great chef," Mrs Todoroki says with a smile as she digs into her meal happily, the woman humming in delight at the taste while I dig into my own plate, "You should speak to our friend Bakugo, Pro Hero Dynamight, he'd love this curry, he adores spicy food,"

"I don't think that's a good idea, he'd probably scare her off darling,"...
