Sonic looked up after all the fog had cleared, and now the room was lit up completely like the first light of the day. He looked around, seeing hundreds of ice figures. They were moving like real people, but sort of in a slow motion. They were memories.

"Catch me, brother!" His young voice called out. Sonic turned around to catch the icy figures of himself and Shadow when they were younger, when they were family. That memory was the day Shadow had some fun with Chaos Control with Sonic that day, yes, Shadow did catch his younger brother with his little power. Sonic, right now, his heart melted seeing that memory being played right at his waist height.
"Whoa, hey there little one." Sonic turned around and saw the icy memory of the day he met Tails. He walked past that and ran into the memory of his and Amy's first encounter.
"Oh my god! You're Sonic the Hedgehog!" Young, icy, Amy yelled as she wrapped her arms around young ice Sonic. Sonic walked past that with a light feel of cringe. "So, friends?" Young, ice Sonic asked a young ice Knuckles.
"Friends." Young ice Knuckles answered and they shook hands.
"Good times." Sonic smiled as he walked through the room of memory. Suddenly, another young ice Sonic rushed past him. He smiled and began to run beside this recreation of his younger self. Sonic looked ahead and his smile receded. This young, ice figure was running towards Eggman.

"Wait! Stop!" Sonic called out, but this icy version of himself had already fallen into ice Eggman's trap.
"So predictable, Sonic the Hedgehog, but I'm here to make a truce." Ice Eggman explained to the young hedgehog that fell into his trap. Young Sonic raised an eyebrow.
"I'm listening?" He said.
Sonic was worried, he had a feeling he knew what he said that day, even though he doesn't remember it.
"No, don't say yes..." He pleaded to his younger ice version of himself, he knew this wasn't going to do anything, but he still wished he didn't say yes.

"That foolish Hedgehog said yes! Ha, now my plan can be put into action!" Sonic heard Eggman's voice, filled with the evil that he always had.
"But, Doctor, what exactly is your plan?" Ice Orbot inquired, walking beside the ice reincarnation of Eggman.
"Come with me, I'll tell you while we take our walk." Eggman said before they walked through a solid wall of ice. Sonic was curious, and determined, so he followed them. He waved his hand over the frozen wall and opened up into a frozen corridor.

Sonic followed the two ice figures down this frozen corridor, the air around him got colder as he went deeper into the blue darkness. As he went down, a voice sang to him.
"Dive down deep into her sound..." It sounded so familiar, where has he heard it before? Sonic was flipping through his memory, trying to remember that voice when suddenly he came to a cliff.
"But not too far, or you'll be drowned."
That voice was his grandmother, her lullaby. Sonic hardly remembers her, but whatever that was she was singing about must be a warning.

"You see, Sonic said yes to my fake truce, and I invited him to the seaside cliff to have a little talk." Sonic could no longer see the ice figure, but his voice still echoed across the cavern. "He will come, and then, I'll push him off. If that doesn't kill him, then at least it will show him not to mess with me..."
The cavern was cold, freezing almost, but Sonic knows this has to be the answer he came across the ocean for. He has to go too far. He closed his eyes, took in one deep but cold breath then leapt off the cliff and into the frozen cavern below.

Sonic landed with a thud onto the thick ice sheet that laid untouched and cold. He shivered and let out a sigh of coldness. He looked down at his hands, seeing ice crystals beginning to form on his white gloves. Sonic panicked, he was freezing. He needed to find the answer soon before this gets any worse. Sonic panickedly looked in all directions, attempting to find the icy incarnation of Eggman while he body got colder and colder. Sonic found someone else, though, it was himself.
"Come on, come on! He's supposed to be here!" He yelled out, staring down at his wrist, well, his imaginary watch. Then, all of a sudden, Eggman came from behind Sonic in the present and ran towards the defenceless hedgehog that waited for this evil doctor. Sonic saw this ice Eggman ran closer and closer to the ice incarnation of young Sonic, he had to stop this.
"No!" Sonic called out, reaching for his younger self but found his legs frozen in place. It was too late, he was freezing solid. It was so painful, feeling himself freeze up and all his power leaving his body. Right now, there are only three people that can set this right.
"Guys..." he called out with whatever strength he had left. With that, he sent out the last of his power out into the clouds that surrounded this island before he was frozen solid.
