Sonic wandered back in refreshment, taking in the night air, filling his lungs after running out of air during his nightly run.
This is what I call the best night of the week! He thought, taking in more of the fresh night air. The sand crunched under his feet as he walked along the beach, towards his house by the edge of the golden sand. Once he got there, he heard muffled voices from inside. From what he could make out, there were Tails, Knuckles and Amy. Sonic could hear two more voices, who they were, he didn't know.

Sonic opened the door with a silent creak, peeking inside the house, seeing two hedgehogs who share his exact resemblance. They were his parents.

"You know about Sonic's aquaphobia?" Amy asked, leaning forward on the couch.
"Well...yes, we do." Sonic's mother stammered, covering her face with guilt.
"You see, he wasn't born with aquaphobia. It was a little thing that happened when he was young." his father began.
Sonic listened silently, no one noticed him nor did they hear him close the door behind him. Before he left he heard his parents close their explanation.
"He was clueless that day when he woke up in the hospital. He doesn't remember, and he never has to."
"He will never know, the only place he can get answers is far across the ocean. He will never make it there."

Sonic couldn't believe what he just heard, he wouldn't dare. He ran far, far, far away from his house and further down the beach, his power surged through his body as he picked up speed. It wasn't long before he found himself at Emerald Coast, staring out into the ocean.
